  1. So you just believe, God basically started everything, and it now just runs on auto pilot, the good and the bad. Yes. Do you believe in a heaven & hell (afterlife) ? Do you believe in prayer, and being answered ? If answered (saved from terminal illness), God's miracle ? if not answered, 'works in mysterious ways' BS ? Neither. I believe we return to God after our body dies. No N/a No such thing as mysterious ways- nature is what nature is. If God created everything, who or what created God, or are we going with the 'always was, always will be' theory. And there is no other or need to be, it's just is. God doesn't converse with me so I have no idea, and yes it just is what it is All of which, none can be proved or disproved. If it could be proven or disproven there would be no need for faith. Just the Christian Bible is so wacked, you'd have to be total idiot to believe any of that. No need to attempt to disprove that, it does that all by itself. Why stop at the Christian Bible? I don't put stock in the Bible per se, other than as a history book.
  2. I shouldn't have used "bad" or "good", as nothing God makes is either, except in our opinion. What God makes just "is". God didn't also allow cancer, God created insects and animals and fish that eat each other in horrible ways, God made volcanoes and droughts that kill every living thing, God made storms and wildfires and so on. If you want an example of destruction and death on a galactic scale, God made black holes that consume entire solar systems. Good and bad are only emotions that humans use. Does a lion think it's "bad" to eat a zebra? As to why God doesn't allow us to live in paradise and live on fruit, I'm sorry, but God hasn't as yet communicated with me as to why God does anything.
  3. If it wasn't off topic I would continue this discussion, but I'll leave you with the, to you surprising, information that not all bar girls in Pattaya are prostitutes- some only do it for drinks and wages, and none have to go with a customer- they are mistresses of their own choices.
  4. You wuz lucky then. My wife apparently went through menopause at 35, and she definitely didn't love me.
  5. A wife that loved her husband would accept that his libido didn't die along with hers and help him out. Unfortunately it seems that not many old women love their husbands any more ( if they ever did ).
  6. Now you're making it up. I never said that God only makes good things- I said God made everything, which means good and bad.
  7. TIME Magazine Lists Phuket and Isan Among World’s Greatest Places for 2023
  8. As always, it depends on the individual officer. Up to them to accept less that a passport, or not. Do you feel lucky?
  9. Your old passport will not have a valid visa. Why else do you think you have to carry it? Of course you may be lucky- do you feel lucky?
  10. Traveling around Thailand is always dangerous on the road so one never knows if one is going to end up in hospital. Strictly speaking, one should carry it when outside one's own property. I used a money belt, so never worried about losing it.
  11. Can we assume that at least some of the injuries were caused by an outraged populace?
  12. The final nail in the coffin of Phuket as a place worth going to. IMO it can join Samui in the ranks of once lovely places in LOS destroyed for greed
  13. Did I miss a few days in a coma and just woke up on 1st April?
  14. Just part of the rich tapestry of life in LOS. I would never have bought any property in LOS for all the obvious reasons, but if I had I'd never have trusted anything that I was told unless I verified it for myself, and if it was being built I'd be on site every day of construction looking for "mistakes" in construction.
  15. One has to wonder if parents that would complain about such conceived their offspring fully clothed and in a dark room? The world seems a little crazier every time I see news.
  16. What right does anyone have to tell anyone else that they have no right to check out if they want to do so? It shouldn't be just for end of life pain, but for anyone that has had enough of their horrid life and has no hope of better. I'll only concede that the case should be adjudicated to prevent people being forced into it, as with greedy heirs
  17. Common sense has prevailed. Hopefully other organisations will also see the light and act accordingly.
  18. Agree. It's all about that now. I closed my UK bank account because they kept harassing me for personal details. Even after I closed it they kept trying. I quite enjoyed ignoring their letters. I still have my Thai bank accounts and they never asked me for an address. Just had to leave 2,000 baht in each to keep them open.
  19. Not much on this forum and I have been paying attention.
  20. Well, the only one out of the two of us that is correct won't be known till it's all over, and either Russia gets what it wants, or goes home. Till then it's only opinions.
  21. and the millions of voters that did vote for Trump don't care about the pro swamp opposition.
  22. Yes that was my opinion and others are welcome to theirs.
  23. Because they were useless? My gout wasn't diagnosed by several western doctors. It wasn't till I saw a Thai doctor that I got a diagnosis.
  24. What about if it's in a hailstorm, and it's to get to an appointment at a particular time? How about if it's a mum that has to take three small children to buy clothes? Does she put them in a little trailer? How about a paraplegic that can't pedal? Have you ever carried a weeks worth of groceries for 5 people on a bike?
