  1. Traveling around Thailand is always dangerous on the road so one never knows if one is going to end up in hospital. Strictly speaking, one should carry it when outside one's own property. I used a money belt, so never worried about losing it.
  2. Can we assume that at least some of the injuries were caused by an outraged populace?
  3. The final nail in the coffin of Phuket as a place worth going to. IMO it can join Samui in the ranks of once lovely places in LOS destroyed for greed
  4. Did I miss a few days in a coma and just woke up on 1st April?
  5. Just part of the rich tapestry of life in LOS. I would never have bought any property in LOS for all the obvious reasons, but if I had I'd never have trusted anything that I was told unless I verified it for myself, and if it was being built I'd be on site every day of construction looking for "mistakes" in construction.
  6. One has to wonder if parents that would complain about such conceived their offspring fully clothed and in a dark room? The world seems a little crazier every time I see news.
  7. What right does anyone have to tell anyone else that they have no right to check out if they want to do so? It shouldn't be just for end of life pain, but for anyone that has had enough of their horrid life and has no hope of better. I'll only concede that the case should be adjudicated to prevent people being forced into it, as with greedy heirs
  8. Common sense has prevailed. Hopefully other organisations will also see the light and act accordingly.
  9. Agree. It's all about that now. I closed my UK bank account because they kept harassing me for personal details. Even after I closed it they kept trying. I quite enjoyed ignoring their letters. I still have my Thai bank accounts and they never asked me for an address. Just had to leave 2,000 baht in each to keep them open.
  10. Not much on this forum and I have been paying attention.
  11. Well, the only one out of the two of us that is correct won't be known till it's all over, and either Russia gets what it wants, or goes home. Till then it's only opinions.
  12. and the millions of voters that did vote for Trump don't care about the pro swamp opposition.
  13. Yes that was my opinion and others are welcome to theirs.
  14. Because they were useless? My gout wasn't diagnosed by several western doctors. It wasn't till I saw a Thai doctor that I got a diagnosis.
  15. What about if it's in a hailstorm, and it's to get to an appointment at a particular time? How about if it's a mum that has to take three small children to buy clothes? Does she put them in a little trailer? How about a paraplegic that can't pedal? Have you ever carried a weeks worth of groceries for 5 people on a bike?
  16. While the west has been slowly rotating in diminishing circles about such as homosexuality, gender identity, abortion, PC and wokeism, a very real crisis over drinkable water is looming. As sod all has been done about it so far, it will IMO turn into a disaster. They could have been building solar powered desalination plants for the 20 or so years it's been known about, but other than Saudi I know of no major desalination projects.
  17. Soooo, no more visits to granny then, or holidays somewhere else. How about if your dentist or doctor is further away? How about if one can't buy something within a 15 minute drive ( as in people that live far away from a town ) eg farmers? How would it be controlled- would we all have to wear an ankle bracelet like a criminal? To the question, no, no way, not a hope in hell of agreeing with that.
  18. 1/ how do you think such dwellings will be provided? When I first moved to London I had to live an hour and a half away from work as no way I could afford a place in central London. I would have been very happy if accommodation had been provided for me in central London as 3 hours a day on a tube train is no fun. 2/ By saying "man made climate change as if it was a done deal, i will not vote for any of your questions. 3/ There are hundreds of sensible things that can be done to stop polluting the planet that are not being done, so why should something that would disrupt the housing market be done? Who would pay? Why do you think cars are a major cause of climate change? IMO overpopulation is a far more significant problem, but there is no serious attempt to reduce world population.
  19. I may have worded that badly, but I was challenging him to say where a brothel could be found in Pattaya, as I don't believe there are any.
  20. You just nailed it with my first ( ex ) partner. I solved it by going for a lot of "saunas". I thought it might have been a bit expensive, but after I left her I was happy that she didn't get all my money.
  21. Hence the beauty of prostitution. No need to care about the other person's feelings as it's all about the payer.
  22. They are hardly likely to condemn Russia if they are planning to take over Taiwan, are they!
  23. LOL, not much "realistic" in there. Even if Russia gave up and left, it's not as though they are going to pay reparations, or for Putin to hand himself in to the ICC. I caught a bit of Putin's translated speech on Al Jazeera, and I had to agree with the part about how "the west will fight to the last Ukrainian".
  24. If you don't like him, why did you make a personal comment to him? I ignore people I don't like. In any business with an HR department it behooves one to keep the personal comments to oneself. Had I said what I thought about some senior management people in the last hospital I worked at, I'd have been fired long before I quit.
  25. I really loved 2 women in my life and they both exploited me. If I pay I'll actually get a happy ending, and I'll take that over two faced <deleted> women that pretend to love one till they can't get any more out of one.
