What I meant is would I like to end up where I am in preference to an unknown and possibly worse end. I could avoid a lot of problems and have a better life by following the same path, or I could take a leap into the unknown and possibly regret doing so. My current life isn't so bad that I'd want to take the risk. Boffing a certain someone that I passed on 30 years ago would be enjoyable, but not life changing.

Changing things like having kids would change the future. If I went back and didn't have the same western partner, do the same job, would I end up with a worse life?

The only decision I'd have a problem with is how far back to go. For sure the good bits would be even better, and avoiding the bad bits could only be beneficial.

Why so negative about Thai prostitutes? Did you have a bad experience with one? I went with many and for the most part they were very nice people and some I became friends with. Plenty of delights to be found in Riyadh, but only for the rich guys. I knew one western girl that was a party girl and got plenty of gold and diamond trinkets for her "participation". Of course, only western women got invites, and us mere males got nothing. On the pre flight talk by the recruiter the girls were told to take their party frocks! Also, any western woman got to party with American servicemen as the US base was off limits to the mutawa, but western guys not a hope.
