Car been idle for 3 years, change tyres?
thaibeachlovers replied to Velleman's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Sorry, but a car I just took off the road for structural rust was 32 years old and in the past 11 years I never changed the brake fluid. I didn't drive it before that, so don't know about previously. While I was away in LOS it might sit for between 6 months and over a year, but only prep I did was top up fuel tank. Only thing I had to do to start it was use a jump start battery. Not saying it isn't a good idea to do all that proposed, but in my experience, not necessarily needed. -

Did you top up the fuel tank? If not there might be some water in it. -

I'm all for punishing criminals by such activities, but that's a deflection. quote And yeah, they are expensive to keep, but here’s the kicker: if you can’t afford to feed them then just don’t fricking keep them in the first place! end quote As that would probably involve killing them, are you willing to pull the trigger? Domesticated elephants released into the wild, if that was even possible, would probably die, and elephants are killed all the time for intruding on human habitations. You may dream of a perfect world, but I have lived in the real world, and it's not nice for animals, whether as beasts of burden, or as food. You think native people's that use huskies in the far north keep them alive after they can't pull a sled? Let's not forget Amundsen that fed surplus dogs to the other dogs on his trek to the pole. Meant he had to take less dog food along. -

I agree, but in a world where we can shoot wild animals for "sport", it's probably inevitable. -

It is, but we exploit humans without a thought. Ever bought cheap shoes- probably made by exploited humans in China or other Asian countries. -
Just remember that most middle Americans are probably just as dumbstruck by the coast culture as yourself.

I have that book on my shelf and been meaning to read it for at least a year. Something I must get around to sooner than later. When Brosnan took over the production values improved, but I didn't like Brosnan as Bond. I'm sure he's good in something, but the best part he ever had IMO was in The Long Good Friday.

I liked Moore as a person, but not as Bond. I just could not take him seriously as a spy legally permitted to kill at will. The movies during his time were indeed rubbish, and cheaply made with pathetic special effects, IMO.

I am indeed an old white guy, though "woke" is a very real phenomenon, and is indeed annoying. Also, I'm sure that old black men use the term too, given it apparently originated amongst the black American community. I use sheeple for a different demographic myself, but the new Bond flick is IMO no where near as great as the lovies would have it, and yes, the demise of Bond as the lover of many women in a 90 minute movie is disappointing.

100% correct. Who gets married expecting to lose a lot or even most in a difficult ending? My biggest asset, my house was lost to such an event, the repercussions of which make my life far more difficult today than it would have been had I never become embroiled with a bad woman.

I don't wish that for those that use rational debate to try and convince the hesitant to vaccinate, but I have no time for those that bully and insult and coerce through threats because they are unable to accept that there are reasons to hesitate. Once more traditional versions of the vaccine are universally available I'm sure that any that would take the flu jab will also get the traditional version of the covid vaccine. NB, traditional versions are not yet available everywhere.
-
IMO that's silly, and we are all entitled to get what we paid for ( taxes ). However I have no problem with those that choose to be unvaccinated being denied ICU/ intubation etc. As I has a signed DNR order I would not be admitted to ICU anyway. If we deny the unvaccinated admission to hospital then those that smoke tobacco, are obese from overeating bad food, participate in risky sports etc should also be denied public hospital admission.

To BITE the Bullet. How many of us are, these days, biting the bullet, and just hoping that things will improve soon, before our lives are ended, even without experiencing any further pleasure, just waiting for the world to recuperate?.

and every day that passes, I wish I'd been there myself to enjoy it. PS I didn't run away from the nasty bugs- I had been gone a long while before the world even heard of covid. -
Needs to be sorted pronto.

Hmmm. I gave up sugar and high sugar food and better for it, but still eat everything else.
