  1. I reckon a lot of men never had fantastic sex in their entire lives, so no idea how wonderful good sex/ love is.
  2. and what could possibly go wrong with that 555555555555555555555555555
  3. Still depends on technology. If a power cut means the technology doesn't work, what ya goin' to do?
  4. In the end, I suppose we bring our own life experience to colour the songs we hear. This one speaks to me in a very personal way. Fine on the Outside Priscilla Ahn I never had that many friends growing up So I learned to be Ok with just me, just me, just me, just me And I'll be fine on the outside I like to eat in school by myself, anyway So I'll just stay right here Right here, right here, right here And I'll be fine on the outside So I just sit in my room after hours with the moon And think of who knows my name Would you cry if I died Would you remember my face? So I left home, I packed up and l moved far away From my past one day And I laughed, I laughed, I laughed, I laughed I sound fine on the outside Sometimes I feel lost, sometimes I'm confused Sometimes I find that I am not alright And I cry, and I cry, and I cry So I just sit in my room after hours with the moon And think of who knows my name Would you cry if I died Would you remember my face?
  5. Beautiful lyrics and so true.
  6. Most songs I like are sad, but some are sadder than others, but a sad song also depends on the singer. I couldn't possibly say what THE saddest is but couple of the saddest have to be Down by the Salley Gardens Maura O'Connell Down by the Salley gardens, my love and I did meet She passed the Salley gardens with little snow-white feet She bid me take life easy, as the leaves grow on the trees But I, being young and foolish, with her I did not agree In a field by the river, my love and I did stand And on my leaning shoulder she placed her snow-white hand She bid me take love easy, as the grass grows on the weirs But I was young and foolish and now I am full of tears Down by the Salley gardens, my love and I did meet And she passed the Salley gardens with little snow-white feet She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs But I was young and foolish and now I am full of tears. The next one may seem to be about a happy year, but I know how sad it is to live a wonderful life for a year knowing that in .... days it will be arbitrarily end. We'll Sing in the Sunshine Gale Garnett ( last verse and chorus ) And when our year has ended And I have gone away You'll often speak about me And this is what you'll say We sang in the sunshine You know we laughed every day We sang in the sunshine Then you went on your way
  7. I was also asked for ID in hotels, guest houses, hospitals, dentist etc. Once I got Thai driving license that did for most places.
  8. Are you saying a/ laws can be ignored? b/ Thailand should base their laws on what farangs want? Every farang knows the rules, so no point moaning about them.
  9. The point is that it reminds us that we don't have any rights in LOS. We are aliens, and should never take living in LOS for granted. I only wish my country would be as tough.
  10. Yes. Done it myself. Back in the good old days when I got 90 days visa exempt. The train journey was a scenic delight.
  11. While on the subject of hotels, did they fix the lift to lobby for Mike hotel? Last time I tried to stay there one had to walk up high stairs carrying bag to get to lobby. I didn't stay there either. It was the very first hotel I stayed at in Pattaya.
  12. Me too. I used to always stay in one of the Sawasdee hotels down a soi opposite Soi 10. Cheap rate on 6th floor ( no lift ). Didn't have included breakfast, tv or a fridge. Back then nothing for farangs on tv anyway, and one of those insulated buckets with fresh ice every day did for a fridge. Don't remember but it might not have had AC either. Last time I asked, a few years ago, they wanted 800 baht a night an still no lift. I didn't stay there Don't remember name of cheap restaurant I used, but I remember when times got tough, as they stopped giving free nam plow. Had to stop using it when a car drove into it, and it closed.
  13. In all my years in Pattaya I never noticed a resto that caters to vegetarians. I think I read that some Indian restaurants opened in Pattaya- if so they might do that.
  14. Personal recommendations are just that- personal. One persons wonderful meal may not be to the liking of another. Eg I like the Lek buffet breakfast, but many on here rubbish it. Up to you, but I'd just go with what seems good on the internet. No doubt they will be playing Jinger bells etc and perhaps decorations and a tree or something like that, but don't expect too much. I recall that Royal Garden used to put up decorations outside that did for Xmas and New Year. Given covid and all that, who knows this year?
  15. I suppose that is sarcasm. The reference to being forced was in response to the poster that said nurses should be an essential service and not allowed to go on strike ergo forced to work against their will, but obviously you didn't read my post before having a rant. I suppose you think that it's OK for nurses to be paid less than they are worth. Remember that when you end up in hospital and suffer from understaffing. I read somewhere that there is a shortage of more than 30,000 nursing staff in the NHS. Your suggestion for work that offers better pay and conditions that nurses can do? I think librarians get better pay, but not needing thousands of them.
  16. Sooooo, why is she on all those tv shows then?
  17. Wouldn't ever have done that, as she would have driven and I was terrified the time I let her drive in a town. Feared she was going to ram cars. I let her drive on back roads with no traffic. Taking a shortcut on the MHS loop I took a wrong turn ( no signposts ) and ended up in middle of nowhere village. Had to go back and road so bad she started crying. Worst road I drove in LOS was forest road, and took 3 hours in 1st and second gear. I enjoyed it, but not sure if she did. On the way to it we asked some locals for directions and they told us not to use it as too bad, but quite a few houses built along it.
  18. LOL. Been divorced for years.
  19. Agree. In Lamphun, house across road was "worth" a million baht, but every piece of wood eaten by termites.
  20. 3 houses and property worth more than three million baht say wealthy. The gossips will make sure everyone knows it. And if everybody's that poor, who's going to rent them? People on Samui rent places to oversea visitors, don't they? And sacking/letting go the maid? Where does it say that? It's inferred. Owning and maintaining property in Thailand is hard work. Finding someone you can trust is the number one problem. Didn't work for them leaving no one to keep an eye then, did it? It's all the victim's fault. IMO they had options to protect the properties and did none of them. IMO the damage done was because the burglars had a personal hatred for the owner.
  21. Is that "PM"? It's a public forum and people that take the time to read posts do so because they are interested. It's polite to get back and let those that did read the thread know what happened. Anyway, it was more a general comment about the many posters that ask for advice and never get back, not just yourself.
  22. Soooo, the BBC considers "rapping" is something that makes the world a better place. If that's true, the BBC has fallen even lower in my estimation, despite thinking it couldn't go any lower.
  23. Didn't see any of that, so, did Fox make the claim that the machines "cheated" or did they just report that other people had said so?
