  1. I'm too cynical to think that we can change anything unless the powers behind the curtain agree, so I tend to ignore any and all activists, and consider them more as looking to live off the gullible than actually change anything. However, I scorn woke activists.
  2. Well said. I worked in Saudi for years but only as long as I could tolerate it. Eventually I had enough of it and was angry all the time, so I left. I never had any illusions I could change it.
  3. That's only in the stadiums. Probably for good reasons. Alcohol is available elsewhere, but one wonders if the football world is populated by alcoholics that it's such a big deal? Can't get by without booze, LOL.
  4. 55555555555555 What a rainbow bunch they are! Can they really be descended from Vikings, LOL?
  5. World has never corresponded with what some consider the "right" viewpoint on life, and IMO never will. We may have been around for 50,000 years but mentally we are still cavemen, and act like it- to the victor the spoils, and the losers can go jump. Don't like the laws, either don't live in that country or change them, by whatever means possible ( how is it working out for demonstrators in Iran? ).
  6. Some years ago that was the case, or at least some travelers were posting about being refused entry at land borders for back to back visa exempt arrivals as been in Kingdom too long as a tourist. I'd take as much supporting documentation as possible just in case one gets an irritable I O.
  7. 5555555555 Do you know who the bureaucrats in Brussels are? Faceless men and women run our world and we don't have a clue about them as they don't stand for election.
  8. Just can't stop yourself talking about Trump, can you? This isn't a Trump thread- nothing to do with him at all. It's not even about the election.
  9. Why do you even think Thai's care about another European war? I have no idea why they should or would. It's nothing to do with them. They have their own problems with a homicidal neighbour, and that conflict seems rather ignored by posters on this forum. Not much outrage on display at all.
  10. LOL. How many of us know what Russian sounds like? I wouldn't have a clue.
  11. I know what I'd do if I were conscripted and if it was shoot them or them shoot me I'd do the first option and <deleted> the morality. Run away and get shot for desertion, refuse to obey an order and get shot on the spot. Not many choices for a conscript.
  12. That was just on that particular subject, otherwise I'd have put you on my ignore list. You are deflecting, as I was referring specifically to Ukrain being "peaceful", when IMO it wasn't.
  13. I don't think it was a hard decision at all. I think they were just waiting for an excuse. What would I do if I ran twit thing? For a start I'd never ever run such a gross thing as a "social media" platform, which I despise, but if I were to be in charge I'd let anything on whatever political side it was from, and only ban personal attacks of any sort, and bad language. If a point of view can't be expressed without making it personal, or using bad language it doesn't deserve to be heard.
  14. It doesn't matter what colour bananas it was about. The point I was making was that the faceless bureaucrats in Brussels were inventing stupid rules to impose on individual countries, and it's great that they can't do such on Britain any more- totally worth it. Bananas were just an example of Brussels over reach.
  15. I hope not at the expense of the UK taxpayer. At the least a loan that Ukraine has to pay back like the UK had to do for US support during WW2.
  16. Given the attacks over the past 6 years and continuing, the comments by Biden about the GOP and supporters, do you wonder why the Republicans are looking for payback?
  17. I'll accept it as much as you will if a certain ex POTUS is found not guilty.
  18. Would that be "negotiating" like the Dems did with the previous POTUS?
  19. That's interesting, and if true puts a somewhat large question mark against the FBI's impartiality. Personally, I always had doubts about the leadership of the FBI re political allegiance, going back to the days of the previous POTUS. Hopefully if there is a problem, the house investigation will reveal it.
  20. Not true. We are allowed to work on the family house. We can also "work" at other things eg, when the area I lived in got flooded, I was out digging trenches in front of the assembled local council. I was not arrested and charged for doing a job a Thai could do. I also wired up the family's houses, and did their plumbing. If what you said was true, farangs would not be allowed to buy tools.
  21. I did but ended up confused, which is why I asked.
  22. Surely it withing the ability of large scale importers of anything to dictate their own standards to the supplier? I fail to see why a governmental department has time to be concerning itself with how bent a banana can be. It's ridiculous anyway as the taste of a banana has nothing to do with how bendy it is. If the government wants to get involved with bananas, I wish they'd do something about making them last more than 4 days before becoming unpleasant to eat.
  23. I'll be satisfied if only Hunter gets to wear the orange jump suit.
  24. I've been informed that justice in the US proceeds slowly, so now it can begin to attend to the Bidens. Better late than never, and let's remember that had the Dems kept the house likely no investigation of Hunter would take place. I'm stocking up on the popcorn for what promises to be a very entertaining interesting time ahead.
