  1. If, as I believe, Trump is done, they will flock to the next person that will promote Trump policies eg immigration, border, fracking, Keystone etc. If not DeSantis, the next, more acceptable version of Trump.
  2. Now here's a radical idea. Institute policies ( and an education system that actually educates people ) so that British people fill those job vacancies. Allowing young people to rot on the dole and bringing in overseas workers is a lazy solution and is not going to end well.
  3. Given by the "younger generation" I see around me, I'm happy that I won't be around to see that "brave new world".
  4. DeSantis will IMO benefit from their transferred allegiance should he decide to stand for POTUS in 24.
  5. If millions despise Washington enough to elect a tv game show host as POTUS, they will certainly believe that Washington is capable of sabotaging their guy by any means possible. Washington and the shenanigans that go on there are responsible, IMO, for making citizens despise them enough to believe they'd cheat, regardless of the truth.
  6. Actually I supported him as he was the only hope for the "ordinary bloke" against the, IMO, monster that Washington has become. If one goes back 6 or 7 years I said on the forum ( TVF back then ) that I'd support a rock if it defeated her. I'm not a fan of millionaires, but the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" is relevant with Trump. I'd have preferred Bernie, as he was openly against Wall Street, but IMO he was sabotaged by the Democrats. Yes, Trump was being attacked on all fronts both by the Dems and by enemies in the GOP, so I saw him as the underdog. Certainly millions and millions of Americans think Washington is a "swamp". Are they all wrong? The bigger picture is there has been no POTUS in living memory who has tried more to undermine democracy than the Orange One and this alone should be the only reason you should choose to not support him. Given my opinion of politics today, that is reason enough to support anyone that goes against the establishment.
  7. Indeed Biden is "normal" Business as usual in Washington Lobbyists Deals in back rooms Election bribes etc Has everyone forgotten that Trump was elected as a protest against "Washington normalcy"?
  8. Politics eats it's own. People are only popular till they lose. Expect all the secret Trump haters to "come out" and jump on the bandwagon.
  9. If anyone thinks Trump is still the future, they haven't been paying attention to the disastrous result for the GOP in the recent election. I doubt he will have enough financial support to continue ( unless he wants to use his own money ), but I could be wrong.
  10. Going by my wife- lying a lot.
  11. I found the 1949 Whiskey Galore DVD in an op shop. Now I'll have to make the effort to watch it. The later version wasn't very good IMO. Shame what happened to the British film industry. Loved the sense of humour in British films of my childhood and early adulthood.
  12. Lowland or highland Scots; northern or southern Irish? Four very different species IMO. Edit; Celtic or non Celtic?
  13. Of what benefit to us is it to assimilate? Farangs should not get involved in Thai politics. If referring to foreigners not being able to buy land. I agree with that 100%.
  14. The nos have it by a large margin. Assimilation is becoming like them. No thanks.
  15. Trump hasn't been president for 2 years so that is hardly relevant to now. Kelly has no reason to cover for Trump, given his exit from the White House.
  16. Given the activity I can not comment on, I am putting you on ignore. Bye.
  17. I never said hang Pence, and IMO she should have been locked up but Trump gave her a pass after he got elected. IMO a mistake.
  18. Comprehension problem? Understanding and apparently makes it clear that it was opinion. Given your obvious baiting, welcome to the ignore list.
  19. No imagination? Personally I'd like to incinerate every "social media" site on the internet.
  20. Like other things. Use your imagination.
  21. LOL. The monetary goodies IMO never got down further than drones in the City swilling hundred quid bottles of wine on pavement cafes after a hard day at work moving money around and contributing nothing to society.
  22. Well said. The Dems should be careful of what they wish for. Make him the underdog being persecuted bu a vindictive Democrat party and he might use that to keep on keeping on.
  23. Thank you for your well reasoned and entirely relevant contribution to the discussion. As for the topic, I don't want him to be able to create even more of a circus than has unfortunately been created by the Dems desire to convict him of something, anything at all. I do think he should be "convinced" to go somewhere and enjoy his retirement with his family. Put him on trial and reap the publicity he will garner. Edit. It just occurred to me that Biden may relish the circus of a Trump trial as it will take all the attention off the disaster he is, IMO, presiding over.
  24. When I lived in the UK I thought it was a mistake to have joined the political experiment of the EU and that it was at least something to have not gone into the monetary insanity ( see Greece for example ), but I couldn't give you a link to anything supporting my opinion. It was, more than anything, a feeling that the UK had made a mistake.
  25. When I went back home for a visit it was nice to catch up with old friends, but that was the only thing I liked about it. Too cold, too expensive, too over regulated, and too violent. Never feel safe here, which is something I never worried about in LOS.
