  1. There was no reason C M couldn't have night life as good as Bkk. That it didn't says much about the city.
  2. Loi Kroh is a bad joke idea of night life. Anyone wanting a nightlife should live in Pattaya or Bkk. C M is a night life desert, IMO. Obviously I'm talking about farang oriented girl night life. Wasn't interested in hanging out in "club" style places playing music I loath or Thai places with a young clientele.
  3. People that believe in man made climate change should welcome a reduction in air travel which is hugely polluting. The obvious way to reduce air travel is to make it unattractive to holiday makers. My comment was in that vein. It'd be ironic if those that do believe in man made climate change still think it's OK to travel by air for frivolous reasons. Personally, as I've often said on this forum, I believe that regardless of the cause of climate change nothing we can do will change it, so why would I personally not fly on holiday if I don't care about the climate change mantra? However, if there is a land or sea based travel option I'd take that in preference to air.
  4. You missed including "in your opinion".
  5. Have you considered that the problem is that the Democrats just can't find better policies that would convince more people to vote for them?
  6. It must be frustrating that your side just can't make the other side believe your side, and continue to want to vote for the "wrong" side. Hmmmm. seems like democracy to me.
  7. Did you miss "seems that" or not understand what it means?
  8. Soooo, it's all right to disparage about 70 million people because they didn't vote the way you think they should, is it? Perhaps they disliked the Democrat option so much they'd vote for someone that you dislike, as the least worst of 2 options. Have you asked all 70 million why they did so- obviously not, but have you asked any of them?
  9. Looking at a few minutes of a U Tube vdo is not the same as being expected to watch nearly an hour of the expected anti religion/ faith lecture by someone that apparently didn't understand faith. If they can't grip my interest in 7 minutes, why would I watch more of the same? Nothing to say to the faithful to change their minds.
  10. Jesus had quite a bit to say about that.
  11. As I understand it, a soul can be reluctant to pass over if they feel too attached to this existence ( leading to the presence of ghosts ), but that could be wrong.
  12. Bangkok IMO only for those like lots of people, lots of pollution, traffic jams, good night life. Pattaya is IMO like a smaller, cheaper version of Bkk. Chiang Mai quieter, more polluted certain times of year, far from the coast, best scenery options, pathetic night life, worst public transport options. All three have similar facilities, traffic problems and the main difference IMO is cost of living in them.
  13. I've made practical solutions on this forum a few times in the past, and I'm not going to repeat myself. I made the comments because it's a forum and we are allowed to do so.
  14. If he dealt with faith, I must have missed it. Did you miss the bit in my post about how faith can't be reduced to an equation? BTW, I disregard anyone making a living out of religion or what they claim to be faith. No one alive on planet earth actually knows what is on the other side of the great divide. It's like a blind person trying to understand why sunsets are wonderful. They can get a tiny bit of the reality, but, like everyone, will only actually know after they die.
  15. LOL. Not exactly the happy go lucky character that wooed the US public in 2011. No wonder he isn't concerned by "rising sea levels". A few thousand $ in the right place sorted that. I noticed that the sea wall is below high tide level.
  16. It's the fear mongering that is the problem, not the asking folk to vote Democrat that is the problem. Going to be interesting if the GOP take the house and Biden has to deal with people he has demonized. He may come to regret those words.
  17. Seems that both Biden and yourself will be "disappointed" in about 3 days US time. At the least I certainly hope the GOP will take the house and stop Biden's agenda dead in it's tracks. The senate as well would be better, but that's a toss up at the moment. So lets see if the GOP are actually as bad as you and others claim.
  18. Indeed, it ended badly for the Tzar, but what odds do you give it happening again now?
  19. LOL. In my wife's village the monk chanting was amplified and occurred EVERY day at about that time. Probably used as an alarm clock so people got to the fields before it got too hot.
  20. The cannon fodder revolting is called mutiny and usually ends very badly for the mutineers.
  21. Your post is exactly why IMO nothing will get done to actually do anything about climate change. The necessary actions to make an actual difference to climate are always going to negatively affect a large number of people, so political suicide to do so.
  22. Surely life without parole would be a more fitting sentence?
  23. I never said ALL air travel. Back in the 70s air travel was less about package holidays in overseas countries ( too far away for ship or plane ) and more about getting from A to B for work or business etc. When a 707 was about as big as it got, obviously it wasn't going to feed the cheap holiday abroad monster. That took the Jumbo 747 to start, IMO.
