I had the same thing happen after a badly converted Honda Civic to LPG, someone forgot to stop the petrol coming out of an unconnected pipe. -
I need some advice on buying a house in Thailand. I have been married to my Thai wife for eight years now. I am fully supporting my wife and our five year old daughter. We built a house in the village five years ago but feel the need to move back to Chiang Mai. My wife has not had a job now for many years now, but we need to know if it is possible to buy a house in my wife's name without her having a work record. I know the place to ask is at my bank but I would just like to know if there is a way around the work record problem and if anybody has obtained a mortgage without a work record. I have a good deposit to buy a house and also I have good pensions. Thanks in advance for any good information.

Probably very low or no qualifications and the loss if face it it goes wrong, best not to take that risk.

I have a cunning plan. Install hundreds of wind turbines in the channel to blow all the dinghies back to France. This could of course increase the numbers if the wind is blowing the wrong way. So I am working on that problem.

If you ban people in the back of pickups you have to ban many other types transportation. Like the flimsy motorcycle side cars, no more than two on a motorcycle etc, no more travelling on top of trucks, no more school children hanging off the back of songthews, the list goes on and on and nothing is going to change and the carnage will continue until the people in charge of transporting people start treating people as humans and not animals. I have a video somewhere of a pickup converted into a double decker to enable it to carry about 20 workers. Many times workers travelling in the back of pickups is done to save money and greatly increase profits.

Bank Codes and Immigration

Had the same problem about 3 years ago. Transfers with Wise to Bangkok bank not recognised as International transfers as they have to go through another Thai bank first. So had to open a Kasikorn bank account to transfer money that was then recognised as an international transfer by the Thai immigration. Had no problem since. -

Maybe the powers that be will change their recruiting methods now and do proper checks on applicants to all government positions and not rely on who can pay the most.

If it gets down to 35baht then that will start to make things problematic for me. Probably a lot of UK expats will have similar problems. When I started living here 11 years ago it was 55 baht to the £. How things have changed since then.
