And what if I bring plastic bags with me? Are the stores going to refuse to bag my purchases?

You didn't read the Original article. "single-use plastic bags"..  If you take your own plastic bag to the store it's NOT, repeat, NOT, a single-use bag. No reason you can't reuse it several times.

When you say dealer, i think you mean reseller. I stopped buying Honda scooters because i had so many problems that they would not fix under warranty. I bought a Yamaha and have had no problems at all.

Where I come from & most parts, the Dealer is the authorised retail sales point. Wouldn't a reseller be a seller of second hand cars or bikes ? Sorry, but I don't get what you are trying to say.

I've also recently bought a new Yahaha & likewise NO problems at all... with the bike or the dealer.

The plastics will deteriorate if left in the sun for a long time...it should last a bit longer than 1 year though...so maybe they had a bad batch of plastics without enough of the chemicals to inhibit UV damage ?

Sometimes the crazing can be polished out  with just ordinary "car wax" soft cloth and a lot of "elbow grease"   it will come back after a while, try to park in the shade or cover the bike while parked and of course wax the paintwork regularly.

Correct. If you don't have a cutting compound or good polish try toothpaste. Hand polishing will be a long process but it will work. A small cloth type buff on a drill will do the job much quicker.

The very fact that a "glass" replacement even exsists would imply that there is an inherent fault with the original plastic face. If there is nothing wrong with the plastic one and they dont deteriorate etc why would it ever need a glass replacement.

Get a grip ! Inherent fault... rubbish. All parts are available for all bikes & cars. You think a lens or such never breaks or gets accidently scratched ?

it has dropped off, most days there were interesting things to read, seems that a lot of it started falling down after the coup. Used to be able to talk about everything in here, now we are censored in what we can discuss without breaking TV rules which does stifle debate a fair bit. Basically its still the same, we have those that come in here to whinge and those that try to defend everything thai but we are still able to get some good advice and help when needed as well as those that simply bag everything, as they say, sh*t happens

I think you've summed it up precisely. Well done.

In the last hour I had a delivery of 2 internet access points by Kerry and HP ink cartridges by Thai Post. Exactly as per tracking, indeed Thai Post 1 day earlier than initial date. I saved about 30% compared with Banana prices.

Just waiting for 2 log LAN cables by Lazada Logistics. Driver on the way. Even give driver name.

I agree, Kerry & Lazada first class. Lazada always advise of order status. Kerry always phone & advise time of delivery. Well, that's here in Sakon Nakhon.

  7. Some years back in Oz. The then head of the Queensland police union, a very well thought of & respected member of the force, was being interviewed in relation to a recent spate of home invasions & appropriate response from the home residents. His response was along the lines of "If it were me in a position of defending my home & family from an intruder, I would use whatever means at hand & worry about the consequences later"  It's very easy for all us armchair commentators to have the time to consider what we might do in such a situation. I for one, would be shit scared if woken & found an intruder in the sanctuary of my home. I wouldn't have the presence of mind to weigh up the situation. Oh, golly gosh.... now let me think what might the appropriate action be ? Do I offer the nice intruder a cuppa while we discuss his intentions. Yeah, right !

Me thinks the appropriate action is always fire two shots. The second into the ceiling.. that was the warning shot !

I don't know about eating them (the Mrs. got over the "strong smell", and now likes it well enough), but my next door neighbor got a small herd in the making, a couple of others around too. They are all Buddhist.

"They are all Buddhist."  Who ?, the goats ?

    LOL:
most people that i know that employ Burmese, ( construction,  hotels & Restaurants...there over 600,000 Burmese working in Phuket alone according to the agent i use here in Phuket)  and those that I know that work at the gas stations earn MIN 8-10,000 baht/month PLUS food and accommodations.

No idea where u get the figures 50-60,000

I've never been to Phuket, but using the SWAG technique, I'd say 600,000 Burmese working in Phuket has suffered the few additional digits syndrome.

  10. Wow, you certainly live upto your name. "lipflipper" !  So, on your reasoning, all aftermarket automotive parts & accessories are an absolute waste of time ? Every manufacturer ALWAYS provides the very best quality product.

All tyres fitted as standard to cars & bikes are the very best. All air filters fitted as standard are as good as say, K & M ?

"putting in a less than adequate headlight " Yes, adequate, but my query related to "headlights could be improved."

"I can offer no sound advice"  You certainly got that right.

You have proven one thing beyond a doubt.... You don't need a long neck to be a goose !

  11. G'day people. Some info, advice please. I've recently purchased my first ever bike/scooter. Yamaha Aerox. Overall very happy. Having NO previous bike experience I've nothing to compare with, but I feel the headlight, headlights could be improved. I've done a little online research however being a novus in this area, I'm more confused than before I started looking. I've bought a few things on Lazada & am hoping I can get something there ? Would really appreciate any advice, suggestions you care to offer.

    Thanks in advance.  Mal.
