is Rutland still beautiful? We used to cycle up and down its hills in the summers of 1970 and 71, looking for girls to chat up and pubs to visit, though we were only 15/16.
Ummagumma was on all our turntables, what an album.
1970/71 England and its girls were beautiful, great memories.
I used to drive a yellow 1961 E type which cost the princely sum
of GBp 300..Nobody wanted 'em, regarded as old bangers. Those were the days. 3 years ago my old GF from '70 rooted me out on the internet, a moment of tears and regrets after 45 years.
Why is it that I do stupid things all my life?

Hey, talahnut, I did warn you, Gnasher probably enjoyed it though. I expect he tore a bit out of the armchair.
This will calm him down.
Yeah, that worked, but the lyrics reminded me of when I got
chucked out in the cold 1990, followed by grizzly divorce.
Always loved jazz on the upright.. absolute deep cool on the
perimeter. Gnasher sends regards.

Ah, the frustration of standing cheek to jowl, four deep at a bar on Saturday night, desperately waving your glass, trying to catch the barman/maid's attention.
I've gotta say, the bar staff of Bristol pubs were always prompt in their service, God bless them. This one by Janis is not really a Sunday morning number!
I've got earcringe now, get the pax out

Time for a revolution.
I've noticed you and the kwikfit fitter are becoming more close, he is leading you into Marxism and in return you could show him how to use the big words he comes out with

Shut up you bad losers, the vote happened, you lost, let's get on with it.
If the so-called cradle of parliamentary democracy, home of the Magna Carta, decides to ignore the result of a referendum because certain key figures decide that the electorate voted for the wrong outcome, then where does that end?
Remainers, the delusionists who just refuse to accept what is happening. Their funk of denial is just as destructive because they’re doing nothing to find a way of getting out of the EU without disaster.
The protagonist in this debacle is the Cabinet Secretary, a very
staunch, powerful, and crafty remainer. This system of government
needs a total overhaul.

I'm looking forward to reading how those 'commitments' were calculated to arrive at a figure of 39bn.....
"There will be a (infinite?) transition period first - everything will stay the same including our level of contributions."
Precisely - leave in name only....
The figure of 39bn is calculated precisely to put the 'wind up' in anyone else thinking of leaving.

There can be no better deal on the table than the one available as a member of the EU.
Not everyone would agree with that, Felixtowe, the port I use
has already seen a 10% growth in non EU trade, and is extending
berthing capacity.
Its usually good to widen ones horizons beyond the back garden.

Cars heads the top 200.
We don't have a car industry, we put bits and bobs together on
foreign manufactures cars.
Another fiddle to make the figures look nice.
I would guess that our biggest export is Offshore Tax Fraud.
For technical reasons there are no figures available.

No. Its the end of the road for Hard Brexit and now just reduced, at least on this forum, to dredging up old cartoons and voodoo incantations to bring forth the spirit of their right-wing loon heroes, dead or otherwise. As far as Parliament is concerned they are a right-wing rump. Ken Clarke has certainly got their number.
I have to agree that there will be no Brexit as promised.
People have to realize that when they read newspapers, watch
tv news, films, adverts, government broadcasts, they are being
NLPd. [48 million of 'em]

Its the end of the road for the Hard Brexiteers. There is no Parliamentary arithmetic that gives them success. Notwithstanding of course the deranged contributions wanting to sell us a dead HB parrot wrapped in the flag.
Remainers have already been palmed off with 48 million dead EU parrots wrapped in scarry, fake, Orwellian newspapers.
But the Democratic HB parrot is a tough old bird to stuff.

You can not accuse May of being fat ( or of being a dancer) maybe she can sing
I honestly think she has done her best for the country. What more could one ask of a leader? I certainly can not name any Tory who could have done better for the country.
You are right, she's has made the 'best' mess we have ever seen.
All past 'Stan & Ollie' UK leaders have made 'another fine mess'
in their time.

Well said Sir, Obviously a Class 2 connoisseur.
Class 2 bananas can have full-on "defects of shape".
I'm afraid that Europeans have no conception of class and
good taste.

That quote is part of Chris Patten's speech, in which he also says,
"At present, people are feeling sullen and alienated from the EU not just in Britain, but more widely". Mr.Patten offers various reasons for this. The fundamental one is a lack of democratic underpinning.
