Strange I am sure that if he had a Thai ID card he wouldn't have to show a Thai passport to enter the country. and using his Thai passport he would not have any stamp placed in his Thai passport. If it had expired he would only have to wait 24hrs for a new passport. If he had no ID why didn't the family get him one while he on holiday. on a quite day he could have that within a couple of hours!

Does it matter The British Royals are just show, very rich, but, never give advice, ideals or look towards helping the common folk. They stay silent and live special lives, and are only commercial property of the Government. Respect has to been earned and they give nothing. There are few Royal families in the world now who prove the respectthey deserve. Alas UK Royals have become nobodies, when was the last time they spoke to the people from the heart and put forward demands to the government for the needs of the people. What would happen if the Queen when on TV and ordered the government to increase cash to the NHS, or even offered to supplement NHS with the small change from their own vast piggy bank?

Nice gesture , but, the Chinese understand Thai's better Take up the offer now because next year it will have been lost under a mountain of paperwork and embarrassment will have them held up at the airport without anywhere to go!

I get the impression that you believe the English are the only people that help their fellow man?
No, but we are the ones who are more likely to pack up and leave without a fuss about how telling everyone how wonderful we've been! Oh! thats right one has already left!

Time for a big feed, then a piss-up and a punch up!
Well we have to release our emotions some time! at least we don't wear our heart on our sleeves like the Americans and at least 'excerise' the emotions out after a bigfeed! ? note: the piss up is to 'drown' the sorrows!

When you have pushed most of the competition out of the game, Then who will be big enough to return? So, you set the prices for what has become no more than bus service, If they could they would have you sitting on the floor.

Yep! all praise to everyone involved. The sad thing is many foreigner's come to Thailand to work and encourage Thai's to become better, Many come as Teachers, and for the next couple of weeks will also be recognised by their help. Maybe not superhero's but, still hero's in the eyes of many young students. In a couple of weeks, Thai's will return to their old ways, Thai's will return to treating their helpers as 4th world, underpaid, backstabbed and generally held to ransom over work permits and excuses. No matter how loved they are by others , they are at the edge of jealous others who believe they are the kingpins of Thailand. They need to be reminded that English people, drop everything to help anybody in trouble or need, without requiring a big thank you. just to be treated as an equal in the same standard as they treat their fellow countrymen in the country that they help. No more No less. Let's see how Thailand honour the rescuers in relation to how they treat their own and those they rescued.

Hidden behind the Thais smile, is yes you did a great job, everybody loves you ...But, You made us look foolish, and we can handle it from here, you in made comments about Thai's, that made some sad! So thanks and goodbye...Oh! thats from the dictionary of made up phrases used by Thai's to get rid of you and not renew contracts! Still thats why the will be glad he has gone home, and they can get back to back patting for each other! They just better not drown any of the kids now!

Leave it to the experts. (where are the Chilean's?)
Didn't the mine collapse? If it hadn't they wouldn't have had to stay underground for so long. Experts Na! shouldn't have been needed in the first place!

Perhaps a flexible capsul that can be bent around obstructions and corners. We sent men to the moon which I as a kid was just something out of comics.
Flexible pipes are available now, example most kiddie corners have them, plus the bouncing castle people know how to put together flexible air tunnels that would last long enough to produce crawl thro's

I hope they are sending them a TV with cable so at least they can watch the football!

Their education will really suffer.
Send a couple of backpackers down, and a crabby Thai teacher, Singing songs, clapping hands , they will certainly learn to scuba dive very quickly. Hmm! on second thoughts they will get sagged on the outcrops with their braided hair, backpacks and fat behinds they wont be able to squeeze through

2.5 km of fun tube pulled through a cave of varying size with sharp rocks jutting out everywhere.
No not all the cave has water in it! Plus they have jack hammers etc. How is that so different to drilling a shaft? They have enough of people and it can be done. Not all the areas are small just full of water the pipes would allow for a fast transition without the concerns of outcrops and uneven footings.

A flexible full body suit with flexible air hose attachment, these are small slim boys, they could also be sedated air tubes inserted and a chain of divers passing the parcels! or fexile tunnels placed that the kids could crawl through! set up right the kids could all be out in hours once the equipment is set up. perhaps time to get some 25-30 ins blue plastic pipe delivered!
-
I think its something to do with if you take away light and sound, your body clock will slow down and sleep and a relaxed state will aid your survival. Plus Thai doing their second best thing after eating, thats sleeping! ?

The first thing when everyone is out, is an iron bars blocking of the entrance at a safe distance should be put in place to make certain no one enters the cave beyond what is safe without full equipment etc., Knowing Thai youths, there should be no blame, problems occur and it sounds like the coach took care of the kids and this is proven, because they are all still alive 10days later!Lessons are learnt, knowledge gained and Thai rescue services have now ideas that can be formed into correct action plans for future tasks that may occur.

I know it sound strange, but, lets hope the General makes sure that all the international helpers, are granted leave to remain indefinitely with no restrictions without certain official's and department finding problems. now the children have been found. We know 99 per cent won't cause a problem, but, you can be certain there is 1 per cent who would. There will be someone who will blame the Englishmen who arrived first, for pushing in etc. They will forget that these men have much experience, and are really only doing this type of work because they care, and certain Thai's will feel lost of face, but, it won't be from the rescuers. it will be from the pen pushers. So I hope the general and the King will insist that all the people involved have an audience at the palace, and all receive the grateful thanks of the nation from wherever the come from.

You've got all manner of deadbeats coming here, getting married and divorced inside a year and a lot of them can't even meet the 400k criteria for a 1 year extension.
Funny that! that must be the same in the UK and US , how many people have 400k sitting around doing nothing every year. When salaries stay still and the cost of living keeps increasing. The fact one has a proven continuous work record , pays taxes and is debt free, has medical cover, should be proof enough.

VIOS = Visibly impaired operator saloon PAJERO = Promoted assisted jockey ego riding object (not practicable for forestry work, but looks good)

Just watched the video again, The 'top' official did see the Vio's coming fast, you can see in the video that his first intention was a turn into the middle lane, then he corrects his steering to continue across, (Which is the legal thing to do) obviously believing the car would bear right slightly and drive behind. But the Vios driver deciding his rights continued to 'cut ' up the SUV, to 'scare him!

Always baffles me the inability of Thai drivers to manage a u-turn properly. Maybe they think full lock damages the steering! Why is it that I can manage to turn into the correct land but they struggle to turn in THREE lanes! I can see how he drove off without realising it though.
If you have sat through the Thai driving video, the driver of the SUV was correct, moved across into the nearside lane or into the slip if there is one, Not turning into the fast lane or middle lane, The nearside lane is where all drivers are or should be aware of joining traffic from turns both left or right. Thats why most muppets never leave the right hand lane, even through they are breaking the law.

Again another car driver, speeding moving across 3 lanes to undercut the turning SUV, looks like the front when onto the soft edge and thus causing the car to lose steering, but this time finding a tree. so sad, if he had braked slightly he could have easily gone round the back in his lane. But, it does seem that he had other plans?

What's it with these 49 baht steak places, 4 French fries (cold) and a slice of manky bread with something thats meant to be garlic butter, plus cold veg, and always some bloody salad shavings with sweet mayo on and the steak covered in black pepper squeeze bottle sauce...is it an American theme gone wrong? plus a side order of French fries re-cooked, because they think you won't notice!

I am sure the Thai AF doesn't have any heavy lift A/C over C130 and on seeing flight of 10 Blackhawks #00kms north of Bangkok, plus a small flight of Cobra type heli's 4 of them, Thailand I think has 2? near Lop buri. I am certain that would have to be the full amount or too many owned by the Thailand. Plus the paint scheme for the Thailand isn't the same as USA? plus combat style dark markings. The USA may not have a US base here in Thailand but are sharing facilities, They are certainly here. Udon 2 years ago shopping big C, US marked Pick up parked alongside and two low ranks in uniform got out and went shopping! Seen regular heavy lift parked (northern end and take off s from U=tapho.
