Kind of what I was going to post. Most of those caught and punished are probably wondering why, when they get away with the same behaviour during the rest of the year.

I had a different problem when I registered a year or so ago. They sent me a code but I could only receive it by giving them a rarely used Hotmail address. Using my regular address, it never arrived even as spam. Bizarre.

I haven't seen any report that says it increases. The media, though, plays mind games with us and by reporting daily figures it makes us think the numbers are up. Media manipulation.

Trump's alleged lawbreaking has nothing to do with the Democrats or politics. It is everything to do with Trump's alleged criminal behaviour, which in some cases borders on treason. To say otherwise is to condone his behaviour, which anyone with a brain cell can see is unbefitting of a president. He brought shame on America, and rather than make America great again he turned into a nation that lost the respect of the entire world. Remember he was 'best friends' with Putin, along with his new buddy Kim Jong-un, who both played him for the ignorant fool he is. He is an idiot, and a very dangerous one.

One good thing about all the criminal charges that Trump is facing is that he'll be so busy fighting them that he won't have time to campaign for re-election.

You don't have to be retired to get a retirement extension. That's what they told me last time I visited the IO and they suggested it to me.

I suppose you're right, although a retirement extension is available from 50 years old. And you don't have to be retired to have one either.

I've been told that immigration much prefer you to have a retirement extension as it's much less work for them. Of course, it's also them who make the rules to generate the extra work, but I don't suppose simplifying it has ever occurred to them. Such as removing the need for photos of you inside your house, which could be taken anywhere. When the IOs made a visit after my first marriage application they didn't even go in the house. Just plain stupid.

I've been here for something like 27 years and am a journalist who has often worked with Thai reporters, and it was always I who had to ask the questions. They never did. Never. Thais do not question their supposed 'betters'. Ever. They know their place on the ladder.

There's no pleasing some people, we all know this is something they should do all the time but at least lets appreciate the effort announced and give praise for that. I never, ever give praise for a job that is poorly or only partially done. The fact that this is considered by some to be progress, that police will very deliberately continue to ignore crimes taking place right in front of them while responding to just the odd few and that it meets with approval by some contributors here, is staggering.

And this follows a story earlier today of an accident involving another motorcyclist going the wrong way in Pattaya. At least this driver killed himself before he killed others. This is a good thing.

I would bet everything I have that there is not a single family in Thailand who hasn't had a member killed or injured on the roads.

And while they were were arguing and fighting, what happened to the accident victims....??? Treating them wasn't a priority, obviously.

Correct. The people demanded the right to play Russian Roulette with their lives. But I think the ban was reinstated. Difficult to remember all the U-turns. Meanwhile, parents, schools, police don't care whether kids and others die or not. No common sense, no brain - and no future for some. But, as the PM once said when a young tourist was murdered, the parents can just make another one.
