Four Foreign Tourists Injured after Two Minivans Collide in Patong
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Makes a change from the usual minivan crashes. Now we have them crashing into each other. As an aside, why do they call them minibuses? Nothing mini about them. Quite the opposite, in fact. Note to media outlets: they are passenger vans. -
Two Pattaya Residents Injured in Drive-by Ping Pong Bomb Attack
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Is this a different bomb attack to the one we read of a couple of days ago which was a misunderstanding (we meant to bomb someone else). -
I have flown all the domestic services, some of them dozens of times. I've found Thai Lion to be the best, and after I had my fifth Nok flight cancelled or delayed, and reading how underpaid their pilots are (resulting in staff shortage and flight cancellations, no doubt) I stopped using them. I've had no problems to speak of with any of the other domestic carriers.
-
I wouldn't fly an airline with such an unprofessional name, and I'd rather take the bus knowing who is behind it. I lost count of the number of Nok flights I've seen cancelled on the departures board.

And all the parents who said 'okay, you can have sex with my daughter and as long as you pay us we won't complain'. What a messed up country Thailand is.

Photos for marriage extension
Bangkok Barry replied to poppysdad's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Last time I did an extension I just took a bunch of photos and let the IO choose the ones he wanted and to do the sticking thing. We had copies of each and he actually chose two identical ones which I had to point out to him. Some jobs are just so hard. Unlike at some offices, we only have to supply one set of documents but had extra of everything in case the rule today was different to the rule yesterday. -
Photos for marriage extension
Bangkok Barry replied to poppysdad's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I applied for a marriage extension for the first time three years ago. Before that, I had travelled a lot or did border runs, but Covid put an end to that. At that time we had been married 29 years, confirmed by the marriage certificate, yet they STILL did a house visit. No reason for them to suspect anything was wrong, but they came anyway (and got a large bag of mangos from the garden ) -
PM Assures Public Safety Following Isotope Recovery
Bangkok Barry replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Wrong way round. As usual, Thailand does things backwards. You conduct inspections BEFORE reassuring people, not after. Even if the reassurance is a lie anyway, to avoid panic and unrest in society, as they love to spout. -
Teacher attacks primary students - investigative committee set up
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Many parents only have kids as an insurance policy for their old age. They have zero interest in being parents. -
Teacher attacks primary students - investigative committee set up
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Same to the school director who wanted the media to hush it up. And this happens over and over and over What a primitive society Thailand has. -
Patong nightlife takes a hit after underage prostitution scandal
Bangkok Barry replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
He says all nightlife venues in the area have now been ordered to close by 1.00am Why? Why punish all nightlife venues because of what occurred at one place? What does that achieve, especially in anything relating to the case? The usual, and pointless, using a hammer to crack a nut approach which Thais excel at. Why don't any of these useless reporters ask WHY? -
Aussie dad gets into fistfight with monkeys on Ko Phi Phi in Thailand

DeSantis needles Trump as he breaks silence on hush money case
Bangkok Barry replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
If someone is ruthless why not say 'ruthless'? Calling ruthlessness scorched earth makes no sense at all to me. Just my opinion. -
DeSantis needles Trump as he breaks silence on hush money case
Bangkok Barry replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
What does this mean? Scorched earth has no meaning other than being earth damaged by fire. How does it apply to a report about Trump? If it means something other than earth damaged by fire, why not say so instead of saying something that means nothing? -
Family claim Thai police overreacted when ending armed stand-off
Bangkok Barry replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Always someone else's fault in Thailand, isn't it. The mentally-ill gunman was only expressing his opinion about nothing in particular while firing at those who tried to calm the situation. -
Will the 45 day visa waiver continue after March 31?
Bangkok Barry replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
They'll probably make an announcement on April 3rd or thereabouts. They did something similar during the Covid extensions, announcing a few days after one expired that it would continue. That's the way Thailand works. -
Pattaya Teens Who Injured Couple with Molotov Cocktail Arrested
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Dreadful 'English'. Why would they want to avenge a rival? Pure nonsense. Normal here. We just have to sigh, but know what they meant to write if they were proficient in English. -
Trump’s chilling warning of what will happen after his indictment
Bangkok Barry replied to Social Media's topic in World News
You are right, but it's a pity they couldn't find a better role model. I mean, it's a very big country, and he is the best that can represent the Washington haters? -
And, of course, so many Thais and even aliens such as us use Citibank. Ridiculous to limit cc sales to a tiny, minute part of the population.
-
A friend of mine is a Dutchman, and the Dutch know a thing or 10 about legal sales of weed. He told me that Thais are mixing in dried grass to enhance their profits. I have no idea if it's true as I have zero knowledge or interest in cannabis, but would anyone be surprised, knowing how 'enterprising' Thais can be.
