  1. the gunman who was seated in the middle of the minibus had got up and walked to the rear and fired at the two victims then returned to sit in the same seat. As one does. Perfectly normal behaviour. Maybe they got on the bus ahead of him and he shot them as he'd lost face. People here have been shot for less.
  2. The wife claimed that her husband tried to avoid a motorcycle that cut off her pickup. Of course. In Thailand it is always someone else's fault. Always.
  3. Something for the tourists to tell family and friends about when they get home. There aren't many places you can go for a holiday and see people tossing bombs around. TAT should promote it, at the same time offering vastly overpriced protection outfits with an Amazing Thailand logo in blood red.
  4. Don't you just love the way that, every year, they spend a month deciding if you are allowed to 'visit' your wife.
  5. Well, they've already spent 2 billion upgrading Khon Kaen airport in anticipation of hoards of foreign tourists coming to see what, exactly?
  6. This is a different bank employee fraud case to the bank employee fraud case we had last week? How long before the next one?
  7. I was in Lotus'sssss this week and saw several Thais with masks below their chin, and one with it hanging off one ear. They don't use them as 'needed' but just can't give them up. It's like a security blanket to them.
  8. God is neither male nor female. No different to many Thais, then. That's interesting.
  9. I hear you. But the passengers sometimes having to walk across the tarmac is nothing to do with congestion but because airlines don't want to pay for use of an airbridge. Easy to notice if you fly to DM in Bangkok with Air Asia, and planes often park remotely even though there are dozens of empty bays available. As for whether the old facilities would have been overwhelmed by passengers from Laos and China and Vietnam, only time will tell if the questionable must-see delights of the region will pull them in. There might be a few adventurous souls, but enough to justify completely re-building the airport and spending two billion? Questionable to put it mildly.
  10. Have you read of anyone elsewhere being attacked with a knife for asking for a refund for a service not provided. Of course, the foreigner must have been to blame for the pick-up not taking place, as Thais are never wrong about anything any time anywhere.
  11. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old airport. I used it many dozens of times over the years and it was never, ever overcrowded, either at check-in, passport/ID control or anywhere else. Even the car park was never empty if you drove to the lower levels. So one wonders why they felt a need to spend 2 billion on something that didn't need fixing. Well, we know why, don't we, And now they're spending who knows how much on work at Roi Et, which has a massive three flights a day.
  12. Must be fake news. Thais are never to blame for anything at any time anywhere. It's always someone else's fault. The amazing thing is that the driver of the boat just expected the tourists to accept his story, as if they were Thais who accept anything they're told.
  13. Asean Now readers special mista. No need read articool to know everytink. Falang know everytink awredy.
  14. Another example of Thai's fantastic driving skills. Not everyone can turn a heavy lorry loaded with steel upside down. That takes real talent and inventiveness.
  15. Ask them, not me. Maybe those on the plane have jobs to go to? You know, like most people. Others are here to avoid the war.
  16. Perhaps you should live on a desert island where people don't clog the 7/11 and delay you doing whatever it is you do. And I doubt the ones blocking you getting to the counter are the ones not servicing planes. You do realise, don't you, that these Russians clogging the 7/11 are probably against the war and in Thailand to avoid being called up to kill strangers? But I guess you don't realise that. The stupidity of some of the posters on this site is sometimes breathtaking. Next time you're queuing behind them at the 7/11, ask them why they are in Thailand and not in Russia. You might be surprised when you get an answer you clearly haven't had the initiative to think of for yourself.
  17. Strange, isn't it. Thai is a tonal language but when it comes to singing a remarkable number of Thais are tone deaf. They are completely indifferent to it, and even appear on tv showing how bad they are. Extraordinary.
  18. What problems have they caused you? Just curious.
  19. If they get the forecast wrong are they sent to an inactive post?
  20. I think you'd find that many Thais are embarrassed about it too. My wife certainly is. She's also embarrassed by the ridiculous immigration rules. We have our 32nd anniversary this month, I've lived with her in Thailand for 26 years or more, and still I have to seek permission to 'visit' her and report myself to the immigration police every 90 days.
  21. So, not based on Race, then, as it is in Thailand.
  22. Yes, elsewhere it's based on residency and linked to local taxes. In Thailand it's based purely on Race. So, 'to be fair' it's racism. I've experienced it also with 'pretties' handing out free samples, usually outside shopping malls. They see Whitey coming and the arm offering whatever is withdrawn - Thai only.
  23. It has nothing to do with 'refuse'. It might be because those people don't have language skills. Some find it easy to learn a language, many don't. Are you good at everything? Hmm?
  24. About 200 hundred people live in the condominium and most of them are foreigners. How is that relevant to anything?
