  1. Groundhog Day. Rape, jail. Rape, jail. Rape, jail. And now again. When do you think they'll work out that letting him out of jail isn't a great idea?
  2. The BBC seems to have a way of detecting you are using a VPN and then refusing access. I use VPN Unlimited and it says content isn't available in my location, despite linking to a UK server. It's a very weird world in which companies spend a fortune making programmes and then forbid people from watching them. It reminds me of the old days of Napster, when people were able to download music, and the record companies finally woke up and allowed people to download their music directly for a small fee. Maybe tv will catch up eventually, and realise there is a worldwide market for their product and allow people to give money to them instead of IPTV services. But it seems they'd rather spend money using people to hunt down those providing the service they themselves refuse to offer, rather than make money selling subscriptions.
  3. Than assault? Really?
  4. The wife threatened to shoot her. That's the Thai way of dealing with problems, less so the Swiss.
  5. If they want proof that the money came from abroad then the transfer details from Wise shows that. Whether the bank will accept that I have no idea. As usual in Thailand, I'd guess that some will, some won't.
  6. I find the HSBC Singapore idea interesting. There is no sign of HSBC disowning me in the UK despite them knowing I am no longer a UK resident, probably due to 'grandfathering' as I've had the account for many decades. But, if they did, how easy or otherwise is it to open an account with them in Singapore? Minimum deposit and so on.
  7. When you transfer money in via Wise you can download a pdf copy of the transaction details, which show where the money came from, who it came from and which bank it was sent to, with the exchange rate used. It's as simple as that.
  8. And 8000 if he had to ferry a obnoxious racist around. Why do you feel a need to come on here and make such pathetic comments based purely on your own prejudice, nothing else. What a strange person you are.
  9. How long have you been in Thailand? It makes no difference at all what guidelines or even laws are introduced. No-one takes any notice as none are enforced. Anywhere in the country. Ever. Unless you want to buy a can of Singha at 7-Eleven in the heat of a tropical afternoon. Then there's a problem. That is the only law I can think of that is enforced by some.
  10. Well, some people - not you, clearly - really, really hate being scammed and cheated. Other's - like you, clearly - are happy to let people cheat them behind their back and take them for a fool with their third world service standards and business methods. You're an idiot. Still, if you'd be happy throwing 9000 away - which clearly wouldn't bother you at all - send it my way. I'll then deny I received it. Or send you a broken phone in return.
  11. Thank you for your ignorant comment.
  12. She might have had a point. Once again, I'm baffled why women stay with abusers. It never ends well.
  13. It is, but at least it's quick. Many spend months or years dying slowly, often in pain.
  14. Or take motorcycle taxis. Phuket Motorbike Taxi Rider Allegedly Sexually Assaults German Tourist
  15. The fact that the police have his phone number reminds me of the time I managed a record shop and my security caught someone shoplifting. He'd earlier given me his address when he ordered a record. I'd add that getting an address was company policy but made no sense, and some justifiably refused to give it. He also assaulted me when I gave chase, and we were in court on the Monday where he was fined for that as well.
  16. Maybe, but only a matter of time anyway. They doubled the fees last time.
  17. Nothing to do with TAT. They don't set visa fees.
  18. No point. It would probably be faked.
  19. More first class reporting from The Thaiger. A photo of the bike with it's number blurred out, and then Nearby lay the wreckage of their Honda Wave motorcycle, bearing the license plate number กง 6860 Phetchaburi. The level of stupidity in this country is off the charts. And the sad thing is, they don't know how stupid they are. They would consider this nonsense to be perfectly normal.
  20. I'm confused. Can somebody explain, and also translate the graphic?
  21. And they're not night cub bouncers either. Stupid comment. They aren't firefighters either, but this AirAsia crew didn't run and hide, did they. They responded positively to the situation and dealt with it. They didn't hide and leave it to the passengers to sort out. It's called taking responsibility. Power Bank Explosion Causes Panic on AirAsia Flight Shocked cabin crew rushed to the middle row of the Airbus A320 to extinguish the flames, as nervous customers watched on.
  22. That's where people go wrong. They are there for passengers safety and not just to serve them. Tell that to the Thai crew who went into hiding.
  23. I once called the taxi complaint number as the driver was taking his own 'sightseeing' route rather than the direct one, and they told me to call the tourist police number. I called the tourist police number and they told me to call the taxi complaint number. They don't care.
  24. As I've written before, the PM (or anyone else in a position on any given day) has spoken, made his recommendations, and his job is done. Anything that happens later is not his responsibility. You, I, he and everyone else knows that what is said will be ignored and is unenforceable, but that is not the point. He has acted, done what he considers to be his job, while actually doing nothing. This happens all the time, at least once a week. Someone makes a declaration and the next day it's ignored and forgotten. But that person has done their job by 'acting'. Now, what will it be next week? A crackdown on motorcycles driving on pavements/sidewalks? Again.
