  1. There's a video somewhere on YouTube that shows cars, including police vehicles, going through the red light at a pedestrian crossing on Beach Road. So bringing the matter to the attention of the police will get you no reaction at all. Except to tell you that finding the driver is too difficult so stop wasting our time.
  2. Just making an observation. If that's okay with you.
  3. I've tried the lager and to me it's similar to My Beer (too fizzy), and not something I'd buy in preference to Leo 8 or Tapper. The Dunkel was kind of tame. Not a great deal of flavour but inoffensive. I'll keep a couple for when I want a change. My wife also bought the Weizen Rose by mistake and I - and she - would liken it to Spy wine, so not to be repeated. I'm still looking for the two I most want to try, Weizen and IPA. My normal tipple is Lao IPA but at around 74 for a small bottle it's a bit pricy. All the new beers seem to be 40 for a small can and 60 for a large bottle.
  4. Makes sense to me. But a poster who has blocked me for being stupid says the passenger was 'out of it' and the driver robbed him and the passenger should come back from wherever he flew to to discuss it.
  5. Paranoid or what! She lost her internet connection and is living in fear and is afraid to give her name because of it?
  6. Going to visit a friend at 2.30am?
  7. The passenger was taken to the airport. Do you think it might have been to catch a flight and leave the country? What do you think?
  8. I edited my post as I came to realise just how stupid your post was. Here's version 2: What a ridiculous post. If anyone was out of it it might be you. You suggest - twice - that the passenger was out of it (based on nothing at all), and even suggest the driver robbed him and should meet with the passenger to sort it out, when anyone with a brain would know that if a passenger was going to the airport he might, might, be leaving the country. How about the passenger was panicking because he was afraid of missing his flight after being asked to be taken to the wrong airport, and in his rush confused two purple Euro notes with two Thai purple notes. And how about a Thai taxi driver not having a clue about the Thai/Euro exchange rate.
  9. As so often in Thailand, an excuse that a five year old would make up about the sticker. How did he explain the overweight? Oh, he didn't. Deny deny deny. All a misunderstanding I suppose.
  10. Nothing we haven't read dozens of times before. Rival students having a little disagreement, I would guess.

  12. To a taxi driver, in Thailand? Or to others, in Europe? There's a very big difference.
  13. It doesn't work that way though in Thailand, does it. No mention of the police being involved, and on the rare occasions they are called in for other cases you never, ever read of a teacher being jailed. In Thai culture they are VIPs and are to be respected. My wife tells me that there is no law in Thailand against assaulting kids, as long as no-one dies. Maybe that's why we never read of any prosecutions. Her family include teachers and police, so I guess she knows what she's talking about.
  14. Shouldn't the headline read 'Family tourism rises while extended nightlife hours are not yet introduced'.
  15. Another headline today: Pattaya Police Conduct Field Inspection on Walking Street to Ensure Safety and Boost Tourism Ahead of High Season I guess the police were in the wrong place. Weren't they supposed to be patrolling the beach to stop these little disagreements between fellow Thais. But that was two weeks or so ago, so long forgotten I guess.
  16. Excellent post. Can't argue against any of it, but I'd add that there is nothing in it for them for any government to allow pension increases for expats. It isn't going to cost them votes. I do find it odd though that certain Commonwealth countries don't get the increase but other countries do. Canada no, USA yes, for example.
  17. Did you ask her? If not, why not?
  18. It is your post that is ignorant. Be aware of your facts before calling people ignorant and asking them not to bother us with stupid posts, when it is you who is ignorant of the fact that Don Muang is an area of Bangkok and not only the airport, and you who has made the stupid post. And that you were also unable to understand that the airport doesn't have a khlong that is mentioned in the report.
  19. That's convenient. Yet another case of 'me first'. But of course. As always.
  20. You write that as a fact. Or did you forget to write maybe has to do with somebody owing money.
  21. Yet again, a long straight road in daylight and with perfect driving conditions proves too difficult for some. And yet again a roadside post proves to be absolutely irresistible and has to be hit.
