sopropyl vs Ethanol

Ethanol is an organic molecule and isopropyl is only a part of organic molecule.

Ethanol is stable, and isopropyl is not stable.

Isopropyl has three carbon atoms, and ethanol has only two carbon atoms.

Isopropyl is a hydrocarbon. In ethanol, there is an oxygen atom instead of hydrogen and carbon.

  2. Si Sangwan waterfall looks to be what I call Sisaphan waterfall, and no, you cant drive there, and its a long walk. Maybe an hour downhill from the tourist village.

Mon Tha Tan waterfall is on the way up doi suthep and is the best and easiest to see in the vicinity.

A bit further away on the Pai road (30/40 miles) is the Mok Fa falls, which are very nice, but Doi Inthanon is a lot better

Gps signal here is fine very rarely I dont get a signal, but a quality gps helps

  3. How large are plants that are old enough?

Tongkat Ali is fairly common in the jungles of malaya, borneo and sumatra

Does it not grow wild in Thailand?

In deed it grows wild in Thailand but not easy at all to find. Since years we have our "special place" hidden in deep forest at the foot of Doi Inthanon (of course not national park area) where we take some of our staff about once a year to dig roots out. Very hard work, needs three men digging one day to harvest about half a cubicmeter! The plants must be really old otherwise the roots will not content much of the demanded ingredients.

Drying the roots thoroughly is a must, otherwise they will mildew.

We don't make extract; we chip it (using a self developed hand craft tool), then after drying them again we let the chips run through the Moulinex mill, then my wife uses the powder to prepare tea. The taste is abhorrently bitter but it helps her "to keep her healthy" ...

    We don't sell it.

  4. They have a lot of single malts in that shop

It was 1300bt iirc for Bunnahabhain, about the same for Laphroaig, Caol Ila, Jura, Bowmore etc, Lagavulin was a bit more

The cheaper wine in there is usually too sour for me

There is also another shop at the back of the market. Down the steps go straight to the end an turn left, a few shops down

  5. However, if it really gives a steady 40 kBps, and you are patient enough (or do overnight downloads), Dtac's 70 hours for 199 baht would give you cheap data. 70 hours should net you around 10 Gb of data at 40kBps... Much cheaper then 3g!

40 kbps- a different package to the 384kbps? I still need a modem? Or can I tether my phone to the PC?

    That's 7hours for 1gb IF I get a true 40kbps- a documentary or film may be 3gb+

I can see for sale a CAT CDMA for 2900bt

I live in Nimmanhaemin overlooking doi suthep, no idea if there is a CAT tower here

Maybe best to move somewhere with a good cable connection

  6. Airasia allow you to take items as sports equipment, iirc up to 15kilo, and I forget the price, maybe 2000bt

Some airlines dont charge for sports equipment, others do.

Some you just wheel on board, some had a limited number of free bicycle places, after which quota was full you had to pay.

Its fairly easy to take off the forks, pedals, seatpost and wheels to make it more compact and rear derailleur so you dont break anything.

  7. I am looking for a sleeping mat like thermarest, or even a foam mat, for a motorbike trip next week,

It has to be fairly compact, and not too heavy, unlike all the ones I have seen in the stores( except the 3/4000bt thermarest in the archery store)

Any idea where I can find some??, used is ok.

I may also want to buy a stove, or tent too
