  1. I am not an expert in that subject all the information I have concerning this is second hand and it could be that I am wrong. This might be something that "Crossy, " who knows a bit more about this than I ever would ,might want to wade in . What I know is that the opinion I heard is that the Transformers heat up during the day and are designed to cool down during the night, if we suddenly have a lot of demand during the night from charging EVs transformers cant cool down and are more likely to blow, In the US along there are 180 million transformers that might need to be replaced , in addition the light poles that support these transformers might also need to be replaced or modified to support the larger and heavier transformers, Since this is not going to happen any time soon , municipalities in the US control how many chargers can be added in every street by the issuing of charger permits. To upgrade the grid thorough 2030 in the US it is estimated that it would cost tens of billions of dollars, I am not saying that is not doable , but it would be a challenge, That's in the US, have you ever looked at the electrical infustracture in Thailand? I am sure you have. Credit for the above info to the theoretical physicist, Sabine Hossenfelder
  2. That's how it all starts
  3. I have two white vehicles, A pickup truck and an SUV and I would never buy a white car in Thailand again. It is always dirty!! During the dry season is always covered with clay dust. During the wet season , after any water it gets splashed with dries , It is dirty. I wash it, and a month later the damn thing is dirty again. ???? I am sure other colors get just as dirty, but they simply change shade.
  4. Just remember that for a fire extinguisher to be affective, it needs to be highly visible and easy to access
  5. And he says that with a straight face
  6. Because we all know that nothing attracts investment in a country than the ability of their PM to ring a bell.
  7. If republicans did not sell out to their "base" and instead made decisions based on human decency and the republicanism of Abraham Lincoln , they could also get their fare share of the vote of that "demographic" Because we all know that there is nothing that immigrants of a much higher ducatoon level Love, than the honest work of picking produce ,cutting grass. and the carefree life of the migrant worker ???? ASIANS VOTE PREDOMINANTLY DEMOCRATIC . !!!! https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/05/25/asian-voters-in-the-u-s-tend-to-be-democratic-but-vietnamese-american-voters-are-an-exception/#:~:text=Asian voters in the U.S.,American voters are an exception&text=About half of Vietnamese American, groups in the United States. As to the rest of your editorializing , Please refer to my comment concerning Educated immigrants picking fruit, With the additional question, Why can't we have both? as indeed we do!!
  8. I am for EV,, and as soon as my 2 year old ICE vehicle is old enough to be economically viable to trade or sell, I will get an EV. Burt that's not to say that there are not some challenges to converting the transportation system in Thailand to prominently EV. The reason being is that the electricity infustracture can not handle and EV charging in every home. And thousands of charging stations. This problem might be overcome with solar charging systems at home. But as it is right now the transforms simply cant handle the loads nessacery for charging too many EVs in a neighborhood, and transformers big enough to handle the load, would be to heavy for the current electric poles. It would be interesting to see how this plays out. One thing for sure, there is an EV in everyone's near future , even those who are now totally against them,
  9. The US birth rate is 1.64 , to replace all those who die it would need a replacement birth rate of 2.1. Most countries in the world are faced with a similar problem of a declining and aging population. The US had so far, the advantage over other countries that it is considered to be a desirable destination to immigrate too. Florida's birth rate is below the national average partly because it is a retirement destination with a large percentage of people past their reproductive age. The US is shooting itself on the foot with all these Immigration demagoguery from the right, , And Florida in particular being a republican dominated state.
  10. He does not. he just asked if it makes a difference, This question can be answered , with a Yes there is, and explain, or No there isn't.

  12. Love to see the humor in this Thread, and that you are keeping a positive attitude. I used to smoke a long long time ago, and my commute from work was at least a three cigarette commute. When I quit I remember thinking, What do I do now while driving It turns out, you do the same things people that don't smoke do. Though drinking is a different addiction, I think I understand where you are coming from. Riding trains is a great distraction. I am sure you will find otherers. Perhaps buy a cheap acoustic guitar, and learn how t play it a bit. Then you can write a song about riding trains Keep the positive attitude my friend
  13. Not sure what the mystery is. everyone knows that the purpose of the surgery is to remove an Eight year sentence growth.

  16. puts a new meaning in the quote "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. "
  17. Nonsense!! What has now changed? Investment abhors uncertainty and instability. Thailand's biggest investment attraction problem is that there there is not enough stability to make the long term projections nessacery for investment.
  18. Sorry to hear about your purchases. But it was you who said that if you want to know the truth you should look at what Insurance companies think. and I agree so I did. and I presented you with my findings, I did not see you dispute any. Now you are trying to justify you bias with anecdotal evidence concerning your flax capacitor purchase. The evidence is that EVs do not have a higher incident of fire than ICE vehicles, and you were presented with quotes and links Insurances do not charge more for EVs because of the threat of fire. Home insurances do not charge more for hones that store and charge an EV. At this point I think we are beating a dead horse.
  19. Sure , and ICE vars have stalled and got swept away Driving through floods is a dangerous thing and should be avoided. But the question is, are EVs more dangerous than ICE vehicles? According to the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) in reference to resque wo "Hybrid, electric, and fuel cell vehicles are designed to be safe in water, even when fully submerged. The High Voltage (HV) system is isolated from the chassis and is designed to NOT pose a shock and NOT energize the surrounding water. " https://www.nfpa.org/~/media/Files/Code or topic fact sheets/BulletinSubmergedHybridEV.ashx Watch this EV drive through a flood around all the disabled ICE vehicles.
  20. All I read so far is that they are safer than ICE cars in that they don't have an exhaust pipe and the danger of stalling. Both the batteries and motors are water tight.

  23. "The Globe and Mail reports that a study done in March by Recurrent Motors Inc. — a Seattle-based battery analysis company — showed that overall, EV batteries are actually very reliable and long-lasting. In fact, they may last longer than the vehicles themselves. " "he data showed that most EVs driven close to 100,000 miles still have at least 90 percent of their original range left. " https://news.yahoo.com/researchers-surprising-discovery-lifespan-ev-110000330.html#:~:text=The Globe and Mail reports, longer than the vehicles themselves.
  24. M is a typo , instead of the space bar I hit M which is right above it , a typo I often make. The real mistake in that reply that I noticed after I could edit. is that it should be Billion rather than trillion, not sure where my mind was. .
