Water in Thailand is a scarce resource and should be guarded valiantly I think the death penalty is warranted in this case. Many of these soda dispensers also dispense water, often it is not labeled as such because vendors use an available slot that might me labeled for something else from the factory.

I would also buy a Toyota. I like the looks of the Ford, but I always had good luck with Toyota so why take a chance. Unless you really need the 4x4 don't waste your money. I had one and rarely used the 4x4 option.

I agree, but that cant be the fault of the Thai immigration. No one has ever asked me for funds, but that's probably because we have extensions to stay and falls to reason that we also have the funds, otherwise we would not have the extensions. But there have been several threads started in this forum by farangs who have been refused entrance do to not having proof of funds. I think someone posted having to go to an ATM and get the funds. to be allowed entrance. Not having 6 months left in the passport is another reason for refusal and it is usually done by the Airline and not Thai Immigration.

Why shouldn't it? no because the planes that are being refueled are not covered by the sanctions as far as I know The plane under question was a Russian goverment plane of Lavrov and the sanctions cover Lavrov and the companies he does business with.

If the info in their embassy does not work,, I agree they certainly need to repair it. Thai websites are notorious for being stupid. Yesterday I went to the Dohome website, to look for an item I needed. The Thai version has parts in English, so that a Thai who did not speak English would not understand it totally, and the English version has a nig part in Thai so that a person who did not speak Thai would also not understand it. This is true for most websites. but IMO it is still no excuse for not finding the info from other sources, And again the excuse that the Thai Embassy website is to blame for not being easy enough to use. And the other excuse that "yes they could easily find the info if they were worldly is illogical. If a person is "worldly" enough to go to the Thai Embassy website for the information,then it is also "worldly enough, and has access to the internet, to go and do a Google search. IMO this part is not debatable, it simply follows common logic.

Even if the gratuities are included on the bill, I still leave a tip, because I don't think the workers ever see those included in the bill tips.

If one is wordily enough to access the Embassy website. then IMO is also wordly enough to do a google search, in the Indonesian version of Google. . Go ahead do a simple google search "requirements for indonesian tourists to enter Thailand" . But they don't even need to do it in English. I am sure there is an Indonesian google version. . IMO the least you can do when visiting a foreign country is find out what the requirements are,.

So now, if someone wants to claim " Ohh Yea , I knew all these things,but were not from the Thai embassy so I ignored them." and see how far that gets you. By the way those requirements are pretty much the requirements for most nationalities.

All reasonable requirements. It's not like those requirements were a secret. If one fails to meet reasonable requirements it's their fault and not the fault of those doing the job for which they were hired.

It don't think it should. But that's me . You only get one chance to make a first impression. When in Rome do as the Romans do. If someone initiates a wai, return it with a smile. The danger that you will offend someone by not returning the wai is very much grater that you would if you done it incorrectly. Thais know you are not familiar with their customs, and if you smile at the same time you show pleasant intent. Trust me . I have been coming to Thailand close to 20 years, Married to a fine Thai lady for over 13 years and living full time here after I retired, but have maintained home for a long time. Even after all these years, I am still not entirely sure of the exact etiquette, but not once have I felt that I insulted anyone, Not once out of literally thousands of times. Thai people are for the most part nice pleasant people, They understand and they appreciate the effort.

It is an innocuous enough subject. On my time here I have seen it many times, Let's not forget that though it might be old to us, there are alway new people coming to Thailand and it is new to them, as it once was new to us .

I think one has more of a chance of insulting someone by not returning a wai, than they do by returning it in an incorrect form 20 years in Thailand , I have never felt from anyone, that I have insulted them by my improper wai. They know I am not Thai and any discrepancy is not a result of disrespect but a result of me not having grown up in this culture and might not know the exact form. Wai back and smile.

Personally I think he is losing it. Some might successfully argue that he lost it a long time . He was never the brightest light bulb in the Christmas tree, but all the pressure he is under can not be good for his cognitive health . There are several articles that suggest that he can't come up with the bond, with penalties it is already over 1/2 billion usd. If he could he would had paid it already to stop the interest. If it is difficult to secure X amount, I think it is fair to think that securing X+ would be more difficult. So seeing all that he thinks define his value crumble in front of him cant be easy. And I will tell you one thing, I am not sorry for him.
