Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I know and I have, But I like Thai air and would like to fly with them. As far as speaking fluent thai like you ,First I dont know how you speak , di you have a sexy voice ? LOL I don't think it has anything to do with it, Perhaps you can argue the price if you know what the price should be , but if you don't know if it's a fair price or not. fluent Thai dont help you. But that's not why I mentioned it. I mentioned it to show that I also don't think things are perfect here. Some things here are bad , others are good. In other countries other ar bed and some are good. It has been the case in every country I have been, and I have been in many. what annoys me the automatic , knee-jerk reaction of Thai bashing. -

No one will argue with you that there are no negatives in Thailand, there are plenty, I will not go out of the car until the wife is quoted a price,or the price is posted. otherwise I will be overcharged. But let's be fair. There are plenty of positives. I love Thailand, and the Thai people, are there a-holes? sure there are,!What country does not have them. Often I might be one. Not this constant knee-jerk reaction. I have flown Thai air many times and Thai smile domestically 2-3 times a year. Thai used to be a great airline, they had their challenges lately but they are trying. Thai smile. Is fabulous, I will fly no one else. I agree there also. I think the bankruptcy knock them into left field, and they made too many cuts to get back up. But there was a time that they were one of the top 5 airlines. I think some of what happen is part of trying to get back. I have not flown with them since covid, and a fear good reports from some that have. I hear they are starting a direct flight to Istanbul perhaps I will try then this summer when we go to Greece. -

Tired of answering unreasonable replies . In this forum there is a negative knee-jerk reaction to anything Thai. I don't think it is because they think these Thai things are bad, but rather that they think they are better. almost 20 years in Thailand and I see it all the time. Thinly veiled!!! I must have got the " why can't someone complain, it would help them improve" 20 times. No one said you can't complain. You can say " I flew X air and i did not like the food" But you can not say "I flew X air and the food was so bad it will poison you" unless you have evidence. One is a subjective complaint, the other is a libelous statement. The person. perhaps at a joint news conference should apologise, saying that he/she did not realise it was a safety procedure and I am sure Thai air would drop the whole thing. It just happened to me with Emirates in Dubai , storm created a backlog and we were forced to divert until a lading slot became available. They probably did not have enough fuel reserves to circle . -

IMO this is good publicity for Thai air, They put a press release out. How many people do you see would see it? and this is not directed entirely at that one person. it is shot across the bow to all the Thai airline Haters. He or she is made an example of, -
I did not watch the video yet. Ill watch it later, just came back from the farm and I am ready for a nap LOL But in the states, because of the way the supermarkets are laid out I had heard the following advice : "When shopping, avoid all the interior isles, and only shop on the sides and back."

I did not see the specific statement if you have please provide a copy, all I saw was "critical" IMO a critical statement is a negative statement, and a negative statement that is not true is defamation. That it might have the opposite effect is immaterial -
Trump is dominating the primaries. That doesn’t mean he’ll beat Biden
sirineou replied to Social Media's topic in World News
There are 48,517,845 registered Democrats. and 36,132,743 registered republicans Do you think any democrats will vote for trump?I don't think so Do you think any republicans will vote for Biden?IMO , and as they have said, many Lincoln republicans will vote for Biden if trump is the nominee. A Quinnipiac University pole has Bidend leading trump 50 to 44 percent, with independants. So Biden will get the Democrats who are 10 million more, will get a larger percentage of the independants, and some of the republicans. God do I hope the Supreme court dont ruin it for us and disqualify trump. -
Regardless of the western narrative, Putin might be many things, but one thing he is not, is stupid. You don't attain and maintain his position in Russian politics by being stupid. Why would Putin attack Europe? One needs to ask themselves. What does he have to gain, and lose? Some people are so devoid of critical thinking , that the obvious eludes them. The reasons that caused him to invade have been mitigated, That adjectives accomplished. He shut down the southern corridor. Any invasion , or threat of invasion would now have t be done through the The Suwałki Gap between Kaliningrad and Belarus which I think is 65 Km wide. What additional reasons exist that would cause him to risk losing his gains? People would say, "But why would the west invade Russia" One does not have to use the sword of Damocles, one only has to hung it over one's head to extract concessions.

Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Hard to tell , there are so many variables and regulations, that are not immediately apparent to the layperson. There are landing slot considerations, or fuel reserve considerations and a hundred other things that we don't even know about. On my way to the US two months ago with Emirates (a great airline) we got diverted from Dubai to a regional airport , I forget the name . And the plane was a A380 that can not land in every airport, but it did there,. Anyway I had less than a 2 hr layover and thought for sure I would never make my connection, but as it turned out the connecting flight waited for us, because we were not the only flight diverted, and they followed a different route that got us to the final destination faster, so we were only 1hr late. I Googled Dubai and the date, and as it turned out they had a once in a hundred years rainfall that flooded the runways and caused havoc with scheduling, so I guess we went to the alternate airport to wait until a landing slot became available to us. -
I was interested in having my wife have access also, unfortunately my account is with Kasikorn also but I will ask, dont lose anything to ask, and or see if there is some other contingency available that would help expedite my wife's access in the event something happened to me,

That would be subjective. Falsely and publicly criticizing has consequences that can not be before hand predicted. There is a saying " it is better to lose an eye than to lose your good name" There is such thing a death from a thousand cuts. each cut in itself is not serious, but collectively they can kill you. So where do you start? the first cut? the tenth? but when you do ,you do it in such a way that you don't only stop that cut, because as we said , that cut in itself is not serious, but to also discourage subsequent cuts. -

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. If the had not diverted , there would had been complains why they did not. If they were following standard procedure, then the passenger’s post was defamation that could damage the airlines reputation and result in loss of revenue. The airline was right to take legal action, if I was the CEO I would have done the same, and I suspect that if this was your company you would have done the same also.- 341 replies

Rather than the standard qwerty keyboard, get one that does not have letters next to the one you want to type.

Can you do that? I thought the account had to be in your name only.

Is it based on marriage? If so you get an "Under consideration " stamp while the application is being processed . it some times could take as long as a month, but you are fine because you have the "under consideration" stamp. It is a good idea not to withdraw the money until you have the final extension stamp, because if your application is send back because of an error, and you need to re-apply. you could be screwed if you took the money out.

Lazada (yes, again) - returns page on PC not working - just me??
sirineou replied to Crossy's topic in General Topics
I was having all sort of issues with them , I just gave up with Lazada yesterday , and opened an account with Shopee. every time I log on to place an order it wants to verify my identity, regardless if my VPN is turned off and I show as in Thailand or if I have the VPN on and am logged on to Thailand, then they want to send me an Email to input a code , but they send nothing, the try again after 20 minutes my identity is verified, then next day , the same thing. Has happened so many times. so I had enough. Hope I did not jump from the frying pan and into the fire. -

UK Considers Aircraft Carrier Deployment to Red Sea as Tensions Rise

Right or wrong, happy or sad, the US has to do something. About a fifth of the volume of the world's total oil consumption passes through the Strait on a daily basis, Anyone who thinks the US will not react decisively is sadly mistaken. IMO that's what the Houthis are trying to provoke. I hope the US does not take the bait, but it is also a political issue and Biden might not have a choice. -
Will new air-quality laws cure Thailand’s smog-driven health crisis?
sirineou replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Laws that are not enforced are useless. Not a day does it go by that I don't see someone burning garbage in Khon Kaen or a pick up truck with black smoke billowing out the exhaust. In the US such vehicle would not make it a mile before being pulled over. I see it, I am sure you see it, do they mean to tell us the police don't see it? Heck many motorbikes and cars don't even have licence plates. Can you imagine taking out a car with no licence plated in your home country? How do they even give them a speeding ticket with those famous cameras? I see the smoke from the fires, I smell the plastic. Do they mean to tell us they dont see and they don't smell? Every year for as long as I remember they have a solution for the smog problem, It reminds me of the smoker who said "I don't know why people say it is hard to quit smoking! I quit at least once a week."
