Who is the man who sold our world?
I saw a quote elsewhere:- "I always expected to see the world destroyed by powerful men, but I never thought they would be such losers"

Voyeuristic nightlife
Nothing wrong with dressing up in women’s clothing; it’s all part of growing up and being British. You must be a bit uncertain of your sexuality if you’re unwilling to do it. The great thing about the burka is that none of your mates from the Legion will recognise you

Life regrets
Let's not digress into theology. What are your regrets? I was in the pub a couple of months back, and I fell to talking to the chap next to me, and after a bit of conversation he said "D'you want to go and watch Stevie Nicks at the stadium across the road, I've got a spare ticket?" And I was a bit suspicious - advice from my youth sprang to mind: "Yeoowhll yeoowl" "Charlie says don't talk to strangers" I'd had too much to drink to get best value out of a free ticket anyway, so I told him so, and he asked the lady sitting on the opposite side of him, and they went off to the concert. I saw her a week or two later, and she said she had a good time, so I don't regret that.

Which country's passport is most beautiful? And, why?
There was a minority of bad 'uns, but they split off in 1776. The old British passport was the best - quite distinctive in appearance. Now they all look the same. https://i.guim.co.uk/img/media/b9e11d7a639fc9d167e1bc7418a15928f3d92000/230_530_2678_1607/master/2678.jpg?width=1300&dpr=2&s=none&crop=none

Life regrets
For all that, you're no Edith Piaf. History shows that you can be vilified not only for what you have done, or not done, but what you have not regretted. I will probably one day regret this post, and by then it may be too late.

Photo-story - Where my bike’s been
High water but no flooding today - although a lot of snow-melt water on the meadows beside the river

Photo-story - Where my bike’s been
This week it has warmed up and the snow is melting - maybe we’ll get flooding tomorrow. I took a rake up the Don Valley - the unpaved paths still have snow on them, but maybe won’t have by Monday. So I’m having a couple of pints of cider, then I’ll stay in and watch the highlights from Murrayfield fifteen times.

Photo-story - Where my bike’s been
I was suffering jet lag from my recent trip back (some times the remedy is worse... Francis Bacon) and after a build up of several days, I was incapacitated for my usual Saturday morning call home. Anyway, I took a rake round by the beaches, and my boots are caked with clart, and my bike is rapidly dissolving in the salt. It was nice to get back out in the fresh air again, but I;d rather be cycling in Malaysia at this time of year, and coming back to a mutton curry

Photo-story - Where my bike’s been
I am back in Malaysia amongst friends (white van shown above) for a week or so of cycling and drinking, and sun burn to boot, and the Federation Internationale d’Escargots Grand Prix

"Handicapped" refers to having a physical or mental impairment limiting major life activities..." A handicap is a mechanism used in sports, games, and racing to equalize competition by giving advantages or disadvantages to participants based on varying skill levels... Handicapped therefore means struggling under an additional burden. Not necessarily disabled, but with an additional burden. The earlier "cap in hand" suggestion was just gibberish.

Where are these world's best jokers found?
The bet comedians are observant, not imaginative. However, some celebrities can make a living lampooning themselves.

How much bliss do you get from posting?
It's only constructive if you give advice on how you and I can help these victims of mental distress. Maybe reassuring posts would help - "Worse things happen at sea" "Just be glad you don't have a bad back" "Stay happy!"

You do know what "handicapped" means, right? Or are you completely ignorant of horse-racing?

The ‘Great Scare of 45’ and Bonnie Prince Charlie?
Walking barefoot makes you more careful of your neighbours. Some Americans seem to struggle to walk barefoot, perhaps because of their bone spurs.

The ‘Great Scare of 45’ and Bonnie Prince Charlie?
Friends are harmless until you step on them. When you step on your friends, your enemies gain twice. "The Hobbit" highlights the benefits of having small friends.

My Very-First Pornographic Dream: It was a nightmare!
"Sometimes" To be more specific, "Back in the Day..." It's a <deleted>e state of affairs, and all the fresh air in the world won't make any bloody difference.
