Well, do you ever see any really dark skinned Thais employed in jobs that serve customers like in banks, insurance companies or any other white collar job? Do you see any Thai dark skinned Thai models in advertisements across town or on TV? You rarely see any dark skinned Thai actors either unless their comedians or cast in outcast/low social ranking roles. It’s an undeniable fact that Thais are obsessed with white skin because it’s only the low class that has to work jobs exposed to the sun (that’s their way of thinking). Thailand has whitening creams for every part of the human body! When I was still teaching I heard numerous times Thai teachers tell dark skinned kindergarten students that they’re not beautiful/handsome because of their dark skin. Needless to say that they weren’t happy about it upon hearing it. Now, I’m not saying that all Thais think like that and that none of the dark skinned Thais can get any well paying job, but just because you don’t know any or have never witnessed it yourself doesn’t mean that the issue isn’t there! I’ve posted this before, but I know a guy who has to work on the parking lot of the hospital next to Central Bang Na despite the fact that he has a degree in banking because he has really dark skin and no bank would hire him. So there’s that!

I don’t know exactly how it works, but the quick tests are way less accurate and they need a higher viral load than the PCR tests to show a positive result. So, it’s possible that a quick test will give you a false negative because your viral load is too low, if the same person were to do a PCR test the result would be positive and that’s what happened with the Israeli guy. My PCR test came back positive and the CT value was just over 30. My doc then told me that that this was a very low CT count and that I was almost not contagious anymore the day I took the test. That’s all I can tell you.

No need to feel sorry for me, and it is not hard at all for me to know that flogging unfortunately isn't an option in the "civilized" world, but it should be for guys like him! I don't wanna know how many people he infected with the Omicron variant while he was on the loose. If one is as inconsiderate and selfish as he is and willingly risks the life of other people just so he can enjoy his fricking holiday, you know, the one he shouldn't be on to begin with during a global pandemic, instead of staying in quarantine then the punishment needs to be severe in my book. The West has become way too soft. Playing nice doesn't work. Time to step up the game. By the way, I really don't care what you think of me for having that opinion! If it makes you think of me as a caveman then so be it!

It refers to the CT count. Quick tests will only show a positive result if the CT count is above 30, if I'm not mistaken. If the CT counts is below that the test will come back negative. PCR tests on the other hand are much more precise and they will show a positive result even if the CT count is below 30. At around 30 you're almost not contagious anymore hence the "small amount" part in the article.

If a dog sinks its teeth into you, what to do?
pacovl46 replied to BananaBandit's topic in Plants, Pets & Vets in Thailand
Some dog breeds have underbites and if they really latch onto you they can’t let go, even if they wanted to, so you have to pry open the mouth. Some breeds can fly into a frenzy, so the6 don’t want to let go until they snap/get snapped out of it. I think it would be best to ask different breeders or people who work with dogs all the time on what to do. There’s quite a few professional dog breeders on YouTube you can ask. -

There is absolutely no need to kill it! Get a proper snake hook, the kind that has jaws you can close with the handle, grab it, put it in a box, drive it away from your home and release it. If you do it the right way there’s zero chance of you getting bitten. You can’t watch videos on YouTube on how to do it. Alternatively you can call snake catchers and they’ll do it for you. The Malayan Pit Viper isn’t any more dangerous than any other type of venomous snake when it comes to handling it and yes, vipers in general have the largest fangs, the Gaboon Viper taking the cake with 2 inches. -
Well, if the opening is too small then the circulation gets cut off once you’re fully erect and that’s that. So you either need the key, which should be mandatory to have at hand, if you go down that road, or you need an angle grinder.

Where did you get five years? Normally it’s between 1 and 3. The main problem, though, is that once it’s expired hospitals might not administer it to you anymore, despite the fact that it might be good for much longer than the actual expiry date.

I know a guy in the states that got bit by a king cobra and he needed 30 vials in total. It all depends on the species and how much venom is injected. I’d rather have too many vials than not enough.

https://www.snake-antivenin.com/ They sell all sorts of anti venoms. I think they’re made by the Thai Red Cross Society snake farm in Bangkok, if I’m not mistaken. Keep in mind, though, that one vial most likely won’t do the trick. In case of a king cobra bite you’ll most likely need 20 or 30 vials depending on how much the snake actually injects you with. You’ll have to do some research on how many vials you will need for a monocle cobra. Also, snake venom has a rather “short” shelf life. So, this can get rather expensive.

My advice would be to sell it, if you don’t want to do that then you need someone who can drive the car once a week or at least every other week for maybe 30 minutes because the brakes will start rusting and once the car stands for long enough the brakes will have rusted so much that the wheels get stuck and it’s a massive pain in the ass to get them running again. The fuel will go bad also and I’m not sure how well a stabilizer will work, I haven’t looked into that. My advice would be to just sell it, put the money in the bank and when you come back you can buy something else.

Killer strikes again as motorbike taxi driver slain at Phuket bus station

In clear cut cases like this, eye for an eye should be allowed! Skip the trial and just put him up against a wall.
