What's also very important, and it's the most difficult part about it in my opinion, you gotta keep your emotions under control because they can literally smell your fear, nervousness or agitation. Well, you can either make them your friends by giving them treats or you can signal that you're the alpha. The worst thing you can do is to get loud and agitated because dogs will feed of that energy to keep their own energy level up. So next time they rush out, just stop in your tracks, make yourself big by putting your chest out, standing straight, keeping your arms a bit away from your body and just look straight and do nothing else, no yelling, no flailing arms, just keep still and stand there with absolut confidence, like you're the boss and it's YOUR fricking street . If they then stop and walk away, you're the alpha now. Just keep doing that each time until they eventually will stop screwing with you, which should happen fairly quickly. The reason I want you to do that is because that's exactly like an alpha dog would handle this situation. Keep your steel pipe on you, though, just in case. I tried this numerous times with dog packs around Bangkok and it worked like a charm. You just gotta speak their body language. Having said that, if it's pitbulls or Rottweilers or anything along those lines, it probably won't work because those are extremely confident dog breeds that aren't easily intimidated and they'll most likely see it as a challenge. Having said that, I'd be very surprised, if those soi dogs wouldn't respond to it. Worth a try! Poisoning them would be evil and a very bad way to go out for them. In the end, it's not the dogs' fault, but the fault of their owner.

Aliexpress sells them for fairly cheap. They sells sets, starting at around 10 dollars, depending on how many grits arw in the set. It's worth trying. If the stones suck, you can just return them. I've bought lots of stuff from AliExpress before and rarely had problems, and they all turned out in my favor. I haven't ordered any sharpening stones yet, but if there's a problem with them, you'll definitely get your money back because it's a Chinese online store and they're ALL about their reputation. So, the few times someone tried to play a number on me AliExpress always sided with me and got my money back ASAP.

If you get bit by one on the hand, you'll most likely need reconstructive surgery to reattach nerves and tendons. They're fascinating animals, though.
