Personally I don’t see the problem. Earth is overpopulated anyway and there’s tons of Darwin Awards that need to get handed out. So, it’s swapping to flies with one hit!

Hubble was and the Webb telescope is designed for deep space viewing. The moon is probably way too close for them to take a clear picture of it. It’s like you standing so close to a wall that your vision becomes blurry. Yeah, you can always argue that an image was faked, but we were definitely on the moon. The Chinese just mapped the whole dark side of the moon a few years ago. Don’t you think they would’ve said something, if the Americans hadn’t been there? It’s not exactly like these two countries are best of friends.
