  1. In the link to Thai Customs ... https://www.customs.go.th/list_strc_simple_neted.php?ini_content=individual_160503_03_160905_01&lang=en&left_menu=menu_individual_submenu_01_160421_01#individual_F01_160426_04 There are 3 categories: 1. Cigarettes and alcohol. Limit is 200 cigs and 1L alcohol. Any more must be put in the bin (you lose it). If you don't put it in the bin you get prosecuted (and lose it) 2. Nothing to declare. Self explanatory. 3. Goods to declare. Anything except cigarettes and alcohol, which are already covered in the first category. I.e. - handbags, watches, perfumes, etc above the 20,000 baht value limit. If you insist that alcohol can be declared and duties paid at the airport you need to put up a link.
  2. It's there in the rules. Importation of Alcoholic Beverages and Cigarettes The alcoholic beverages and cigarettes exempted from duty are listed as follows: No more than 200 cigarettes or 250g of tobacco or 250g of all types combined No more than 1 litre of alcoholic beverage The excess quantities of cigarettes, tobacco or alcoholic beverages must be dropped in the box provided by Customs, otherwise prosecution will be carried out.
  3. This is incorrect. The actual rule is posted by @marin a couple of posts below yours. You can not declare alcohol or tobacco above the allowed limit and expect to pay the duties.

  5. No problem, it's downhill both ways.
  6. AFAIK importing alcohol (more than 1L) requires a licence, and it's not possible to just declare it and pay the duty..
  7. Fast and Furious 50 Not so fast, but making everyone furious.
  8. From previous posts regarding 90 day reports, he is living in Thailand. I'm wondering whether he just needs info about accessibility to immigration buildings.

  11. It was a washing machine from Lotus's online shop. It was delivered on the back of a pickup by 1 guy alone. The machine probably weighed more than him. He dropped it. When they came to collect the damaged machine it was another guy on his own. I paid our security guard 100 baht to help him load it (I had visions of it falling on him as he struggled). After that I decided to buy from homepro.
  12. I don't know what species it is but ... pedant alert ... it's unlikely to be poisonous - venomous, maybe. Sorry.
  13. Looks like it was CNG, poorly installed.
  14. I had the same problem 15,000 baht refund sent to my wallet, and I couldn't activate the wallet. Lazada gave me the answer (only works using the phone app). Go to "account" then "wallet" Tap on the amount - don't try to activate. Choose "withdraw" then complete the deposit/withdrawal form. I can't remember exactly, but I think I got a OTP from my bank, then the withdrawal was received a few days later.
  15. When the currency is strong, exported goods (and tourism is an export) become less attractive.
  16. I'm sad to hear that news. I met Paul a few times over the years, at his home and in Pattaya when he was making deliveries. A nice guy and, as you say, hardworking. RIP
  17. He got the Canute part right, but wrong spelling.

  22. My son has been taking Spanish lessons since he was three. Now he's four and still doesn't know how to say please in Spanish. I think that's poor for four.
  23. Mrs C reckons that we will meet again in the next life. I don't believe in reincarnation, but I would be happy to be proved wrong.
