  1. Was that the guy with his dead gf in a plastic water barrel in his basement? Back on topic. Today I learned that Mrs Chickenslegs has been saving all my hair (I have a good head of hair, but prefer to shave to No.1 every few weeks), also our daughter's hair whenever she has it trimmed, and her own hair, likewise (I have not asked whether it is just head hair). Seems this has been going on for many years and there is quite a bundle. She explained that we need to float/sink the hair in a lake or river for protection against bad spirits. This would also protect me from the influence of a woman who might cast a spell on me and steal me from her.
  2. Seems there are no limits to how disgusting some people can be. These are grown men, possibly with families themselves. I don't have the words to describe my abhorrence. Good to hear that the club and true supporters are also disgusted. In addition to any criminal penalties I'm sure the club will ban them for life.
  3. That is really sad. A 300 year old tree cut down by vandals, for no apparent reason. I have to admit that this photo brought a tear to my eye ... Looks like some damage to the 2,000 year old wall too.
  4. For the sake of your family, and the undertakers, make sure you are on the ground floor when you walk into the light.
  5. There will be no big clean-up. Maybe a light dusting and sweeping the dirt under the carpet.
  6. The importance of a re-entry permit is that is preserves your extension of stay. If you leave Thailand without one you will have to obtain a new visa when you return. If you have an unused single re-entry permit in your passport you can leave and re-enter Thailand once, until the expiry of your extension of stay (13 January 2024). Seems you (maybe your agent) must have applied for it and you paid the 1,000THB fee when you got your extension. As Dr Jack says, if you have not left Thailand since your last extension your re-entry permit is valid up to 13 January 2024. "Used" re-entry permits are stamped with the word "USED".
  7. What, specifically, is difficult about the form? I have been retired for 18 years and never had one from my force. I've had the state pension proof of life form, which was a doddle to complete.
  8. The OP is getting his GMP pension paid directly to his Bangkok Bank account.
  9. And the second quote was from Aristotle. Either him or Sir Les Patterson.
  10. Sounds like you already have a re-entry permit, but you should post a picture of the passport page here - so that one of the more expert members can verify.
  11. Empty barrels make the most noise. "If" - If my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle.
  12. Correct me if I'm wrong - Retirees using the 800,000 THB in the bank method for their extensions, are not permitted to allow the balance to fall below 400,000 THB at any time during the year. Doesn't that mean that they have to keep (a minimum of) 400.000 THB year-round?
  13. The only thing that we can do is anticipate their behaviour and drive accordingly. E.g.- if someone is attempting to overtake you in a dangerous location, use your mirrors, slow down and just let them pass. E.g.- if a motorbike or sa-ling pulls out in front of you without looking, be prepared to slow down quickly and wait behind them until it's safe to overtake. It will only add a few seconds to your journey. E.g.- If you see youngsters (or even boy racers) ahead or behind, give them a wide berth. Imagine the <deleted>storm you will face if you get involved in a fatal accident, even if you are not to blame. Etcetera. Sorry to come across as a bit 'preachy', but we need to apply our best standards. Maybe others will copy.
  14. Current Minister of Agriculture is Thammanat Prompow. Convicted in Australia and served 4 years in connection with drug smuggling. He's on the Royally approved list here ... https://www.thaipbsworld.com/royal-approval-of-thailands-new-cabinet-granted/
  15. Standards, ethics, and morals don't pay for nice cars, houses, and mia noi's.
