Dangerous times are already here. Most of the European countries have been weakening their militaries for decades. Trump warned them (via NATO) in 2019. There was very little reaction until 2022 when Ukraine was invaded. Now, Trump has given Europe another scare and it has reacted immediately (at least with words). Trump wants Europe to deal with European security more powerfully and responsibly, which is fair enough. I think Trump has other dangerous possibilities to consider.

I hope you're right but remember that this is just one side agreeing to a proposal for a ceasefire, which, if agreed to by Russia, may lead to further talks on actual peace. Bringing a permanent end to the war will be far more difficult, I'm sure. That said, this proposal should be appreciated as a welcome effort to promote a stop to the war. I can see from other posts here that there is little positivity and that's a shame.

I think that your "reality" is mainly created by your permanent hatred for Trump and I don't agree with what you say, which confuses several separate issues; Canada and Mexico have long-standing trade (deficit) imbalances, with the fentanyl and migrant problems now also a valid concern. Ukraine is different, although I do think that the inclusion of a rare earth interest by the USA is disappointing at this time, unless that can be the way to give Ukraine more security by having American miners work in country, who will need security. I still think that Trump is keen for a peace in Ukraine over all else and that he will not abandon NATO.

As a summary, that's all that is required. You seem to be the dreamer here.
