  4. Hi, Here's my situation, my wife and kid are in Thailand and I've booked a flight to go there on 2nd April, I'm currently in the UK. I'm planning to stay a bit longer than 3 months and was wondering if there's enough time for me to get a non immigrant o visa or shall I just enter with a tourist visa and try to extend? Or can I enter with a tourist visa and then apply for non o visa? Many thanks
  5. Hi, quick question actually (sorry about that, it's slightly different subject but related): the Thailand pass website doesn't mention any requirement for a COVID test PRIOR to departure, is it not needed at all? I will be traveling from the UK. Many thanks

  9. Maybe they could sell their YMCA outfits as collector's items? Some yanks would shell a lot of money for them I'm sure..????
  10. Get a free trial with a VPN and see if it helps, also try with your 4g connection (set up a hotspot from your mobile), that way you can rule out the connection excuse From what you describe though it's probably your supplier's server that's too busy ie too many users..
  11. On the positive side at least he will collect air miles..
  12. Hi, there's an app called 'live TV soccer' which, as well as the scores, lists all the worldwide channels broadcasting each game. If you use a VPN you can just switch country and watch on other free to air channels etc. Might be in a foreign language but better than buffering.. also useful if you use IPTV with lots of countries (the game was on supersport for instance)
  13. Re: Axa policy.. Looking at the policy this is more for kidnappings and I'm not sure it would cover this.. according to Thai law this wouldn't be a wrongful detention ..
  14. Interesting post (+ good to know), does anyone know/recommend any Thai insurance that would cover costs if found positive?
  15. They cancelled our flights at the begining of the pandemic and we never got any refund. They are going bankrupt apparently, so I would book with another airline .. if they go burst you will not get your money back
  16. Hi, is the full list of 'safe' countries published or will it be confirmed later? I can't seem to find it.. I'm currently in the UK but I can't see the UK staying on the list as we are getting more than 40k cases per day... I'm thinking of transiting via another country if needed as I suspect the UK will get dropped soon. I'm planning to travel in December.. Thanks ????
  17. Hi, My wife is Thai and I am planning to transfer to Thailand as the company where i work has an office there and they are quite open about it. I would be applying myself for work permit etc and wanted to know how long the process would take (after getting my non-immigrant visa to Thailand) ? it says it can vary by office, for instance about 2 months in Pukhet and a few days in BKK... has anyone done it from Chachoengsao office? Many thanks
  18. sure will do thanks. I was trying to work out my tax as i'm negotiating the wage first..
  19. Hi, I'm currently working for a global organisation with an office in Thailand ; I've been talking to them about transferring there and i'm trying to work out how much tax I would be paying. I found a couple of tax calculators (e.g. https://www.icalculator.info/thailand.html) e.g. https://home.kpmg/xx/en/home/insights/2021/09/thailand-taxation-of-international-executives.html I wanted to know if there was any additional tax to pay at all or that's it? Many thanks + Best Wishes ????
  20. I have a Lenovo Yoga and very happy with it. It's a 2 in 1 and the hinges are quite strong (it can be a problem with other brands) ; the overall build quality is very good as is the screen etc. Very light also
  21. I use voipdiscount, they are cheap. Quality is not always perfect but most of the time it's good enough, especially for landlines. If you need to key in digits like when you ring customer service it also works. Landline calls are free and calls to mobile cost 15 pence
