Already seen them at a couple of major junctions - a good thing too (although in the short term there may be a few more rear-enders)

A re entry permit would cease to be valid once the extension it relates to ends.
Thanks - I had a feeling that would be the case

I may be in a similar situation later in the year - would my only way of controlling the date that my BOI extension ends be to resign from the job rather than waiting for them to end it?
Also would my multi-entry re-entry permission still be valid or would I have to pay for a new one?

Wonder why you were here in the first place

It's funny - my wife can get a Schengen Visa for next to nothing, a sheet of A4 and a copy of my passport because she's married to an EU citizen. Same for an Irish visa. But to get a UK visa (my home country) the amount of paperwork and the cost is ridiculous
Last time we got a 5 year tourist visa to stop the incessant trips down to Bangkok

Wasn't that wall rebuilt recently - if so then how is it historic?

Get mine frozen from Makro. Not fresh, I know, but it looks like duck, tastes like duck, so must be duck
Does it sound like a duck though?

Don't marry a farang and your buffalo will never get sickAsst.Prof.Dr. Kodchoporn Siripokakit opened the event and said that the contest was organised to engage with people interested in learning and exchanging information and experiences of buffalo, such as breeding, sickness prevention and animal food.

Looks to be lovely young woman doing a very good job. But just to warn interlopers on the Chiang Mai forum, this town can be a pretty tough place to police; hence, the semi-automatic rifle so you are well-warned.
Sorry to nit pick, but that's a fully automatic (select fire) rifle.
Why, I wonder, does a member of the tourist police need such a weapon?
To keep the tourists at Zoe's in line of course

Congratulations on saving approx 120 baht on your 90 days reports (if you use the post route) or zero if you use online reporting

The big trans here next door by the condo blows and I have seen that...
Typical Thailand (sorry for the quote out of context )

Hi,
I've got 5 days on Koh Lipe next month and I'm thinking about spending a day scuba diving but not sure if the conditions this time of year will make it worthwhile
I haven't dived in about 6 years so I'm very rusty and looking for some nice easy bimbles at around 20 metres
Anyone have any experiences to share / dive centres to recommend (or avoid!)
Cheers

My wife had the reverse happen - a tourist paid with a 100 baht note and received change for 100 baht and then came back and complained that she had been short changed from 1000 baht
My wife showed her the cash draw which contained nothing larger than a 500 baht note. The woman was still adamant that my wife should give her 900 baht so my wife showed her the security camera that was pointed at the cash draw and said she would happily review the footage with the woman and if my wife was mistaken then she would return the "missing" 900 baht
At this point the woman just walked away without an apology
Seems like scammers exist on both sides of the counter

I believe you can use your USA subscription but will get access to the Thai version (unless you use a VPN)

Is he an Asian guy with 2 walking sticks and a breathing mask?

Seeing how diligently (and helpfully) Tywais updates that post every year I don't see the need to update unless you want him to update it daily to say nothing has changed

Just curious, what would one do with a kilo of bee's wax?

You know we like Dayli always have
They have as you mentioned great promos & the food is quite good.
But there is one odd (or not) thing there & it is this...
Try to get a unopened beer
Will not happen
They will either bring 3 opened bottles to your table or if you request they not open 3 they will just bring one,.
Question them about it & they will always have an excuse...They only open at bar or better this way as to be cold etc.
Yet they would have no problem bringing the three opened & letting them sit if you had not said something
This strikes me as odd how about you?
it's easier to supervise at the bar,,,staff changes....20 thb used to get me one at a time..freezing cold...they even rotated through a big sub-zero freezer, which is now gone....just deduct ice from tip..maybe they will remember. Perhaps, if you could speak Thai like a four year old?????
Sorry slow response dont log in here often.......
Haha yeah thanks but I speak read & write Thai quite well I'm told
Not that it would matter as out of our group of 6 I am the only non native Thai
I only ask because beer there always seems flat/flatter than normal
Yes last time we were there they did in fact bring them one at a time after we asked not to open all at once & they did say they only open at the bar...
Still quite odd compared to anywhere else where every girl has a opener on their person...Supervise what? You buy a promo your billed period
Inventory less bills equal what should be there or you have a staff with sticky fingers problem
20baht tip?? 555 we would be embarrassed to offer/leave something that tiny
Supervise them not giving you any warm ones, or worst case ones that were opened five hours ago (oh, they only do that on MM). Considering the Thais usually leave zero, twenty to the bartender is at least a wakeup call, and since previous experience says 100 doesn't get you anywhere, I'll keep the number of carrots small, at this point. Most of my 10 years of drinking there has been great, but the real trouble started when they got rid of the deep freeze rotation, and just became another bar requiring you to buy ice....not to mention the disappearance of the 30-40 thb Thai food items from the menu, and they might have even chased away the satay guy. You claim to be going with five Thais and also claim to be a generous tipper...yet you still have problems getting a relatively simple order correct....I had nine years of success.
Congratulations on your nine years of successfully ordering beer

Hi,
My taximan today mentioned Promenada etc. First I knew of it as I have been away.
I have to do a 12 month Retirement Renewal next week and would much prefer to go to airport immigration - easier for wife and I.
From what is mentioned here looks like I could do at the Airport? Plus a Re-entry permit provided all at same time??
Also can anyone confirm if charge for 12 month Retirement Renewal is still 1900 Baht??
Grateful to hear.
Rgds.
Please read the first two posts in this topic - they detail the types of extension that can be done at the Airport Immigration office

Okay - Classic Burger has had its time in the spotlight - some people like it, some people dislike it (surprise!) and some people are upset that others disagree with them (bigger surprise!)
Can we have a new contender for discussion / dissection ?
