According to this article from the New England Medical Journal he (Fauci), along with two of his peers did indeed say "....the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza....."

Exactly. He didn’t say Covid is “a severe seasonal influenza” as the other poster suggested. He was talking about the “clinical consequences” which 2-3 months ago obviously were less known and understood than they are now, and he even indicated that by saying they “may” be more akin to those of a severe influenza — aka we are not sure yet.

He’s good entertainment though when he’s making a fool of himself in front of the whole world, this stuttering orange clown with the intellect of a subway sandwich. And he exposed that the US really is a trailer park full of imbeciles.

The non racial slogan IMHO should be
ALL lives matter.
Rubbish.
ALL lives DO matter.
What DOESN'T matter is race, colour, religion, man, woman or child and anything in between
Don’t pretend to be so naive. White people don‘t have a reason to put out this slogan. Now guess why they do put it out exactly in the moment when black people protest against the racism they encounter? Now if you really can’t see what’s wrong with that then I understand even more why people protest against racism.

I posted the definition a few pages ago which clearly showed it not to be hate speech. W still insists it does. No point continuing.
And you can call an elephant a bicycle. It’s still an elephant.

Good that Twitter has taken that down. And the university should have taken consequences as well rather than defending her.

what are your thought's on the Cambridge University professor that said 'white lives don't matter' that was defended by the university, and got promoted the following day?
Haven’t heard of that. Why would he say that?

Nope. Wrong again. As I said earlier. There is no "against" in the " White" posts.
abusive or threatening speech or writing that expresses prejudice against a particular group, especially on the basis of race, religion, or sexual orientation.
There you have it.

"Is" is a statement of fact. Since you cannot prove it as a fact, it is therefore your belief/feelings.
No, it’s not “belief/feelings”. It fits the definition. There you have your proven fact.

You just proved my point. Subjective. You cannot say why it is hate speech, just that you FEEL it is.
I did not say that I “FEEL it is”. I said that it is hate speech. Please quote me correctly.

It would be like having "The Squad" moderate the largest social media platform on the planet.
I don’t know who those “lefties” are but if you had read the article you would know that it’s Facebook “creating their own definitions for bannable and moderated offenses”. And that’s why big corporates are now pulling their ads, which is good.

11 minutes ago, DoctorG said:Then why do terms such as "White Lives Matter" and "It's OK to be White" evoke such vehement reactions and have posts taken down?
Neither of these terms are against any protected class, yet are labelled as hate speech
Because it is hate speech.

Labeling it? That’s Ridiculous. Every community forum bans you for spreading lies and hatred, and the same happens when the average joe does it on Facebook.

You are misquoting Dr. Anthony Fauci. He wrote in the New England Journal of Medicine „severe seasonal influenza“ and not „just a flu“.
1. He didn’t call the virus a “severe seasonal influenza”.
2. What’s the point bringing up an article that was written before doctors learned about the damage the virus can do? Don’t the doctors clearly say that “We thought this was only a respiratory virus. Turns out, it goes after (...)”?

I don’t know how much choice they have. It’s irrelevant though.
I’m glad most Thai people aren’t the conspiracy theorists, science deniers and populists we see in the West. They care about their health and that of their families and friends. They don’t think science and doctors are hocus-pocus that you know better by watching a YouTube channel.
Quite amazing that a developing country now produces more rational people than the well-educated West.
But like I said, let the fools go to their Trump rallies and anti-Covid parties. As long as they don’t mingle with us, I’m happy to see Darwin do his job. It may be just what the West needs against populism and the growing number of imbeciles.

When a government acts against the wishes of the people, it's time for an election and a new government.
Nobody cares about COVID, apart from a few nutters, let the people decide on the risks they want to take.
If they want to visit the beach, why not, if you want to cower in fear in your home, you are equally welcome.
What one decides, does not affect anyone else.
The people want anarchy!
Where’s Anonymous when we need them?-
