  1. It is in fact the only way to get one. Start here - https://www.thaievisa.go.th/
  2. No guarantee is required or indeed possible. She will be asked about the cost of her trip, how she will afford it and if somebody else will be helping with the cost. It is normal for her and maybe you to provide bank statements to demonstrate funds are available, however nothing consitutes a guarantee from anybody, it just gives them some confidence in the application.
  3. It's in all the news outlets but everyone is bored with the whole thing now.
  4. I mean anybody you want, married partner, non-married partner or friend. A next of kin is somebody convienient to lumber with unpleasant tasks in times of trouble. I don't think it is needed but might be a good idea to write down your wishes, assuming you don't make a formal will, as that might help at the time. And I am sure the embassy doesn't need or want you to send documents to them in advance, they don't want to know if you are here in the first place and would not know where to file such documents if you did send one.
  5. Your partner can notify the embassy. Whilst your next of kin is normally/often your closest blood relative it can in fact be anybody you choose and not necessarily related to you.
  6. Ah that one. I think it was THB700 when they changed it around 2007 to be included in the ticket.
  7. Got a phone? I've not had any phone for years now that doesn't come with Adobe Scan installed. Does a perfectly good job and keeps your vitals out of Greek hands.
  8. As you seem to have been in email contact with the Embassy I would forward this cancellation email to them for their comment. Is the sending address for the email credible? When you sign in to your evisa account does the application still appear or has it vanished?
  9. It will be valid for entry within 3 months of the date of issue which will be the date they issue it, not your flight date.
  10. I use Chrome and the colour fill of the box changes with the colour scheme of the browser. Maybe get rid of that blue?
  11. In the case of the UK for example the old passport is cancelled when the application for a new one is received but that information is not shared outside of the UK itself, so the Thai immigration system will not be aware.
  12. If you go on the TP site right now the latest arrival date you can enter is 06 July. That would seem to suggest 60 days.
  13. "Covid test needed at departure airport? After May 1st" Only if you are unvaccinated and wish to avoid 5 days quarantine.
  14. The Grauniad has the Albert story; https://www.theguardian.com/money/2022/apr/25/frozen-pensions-dunkirk-veteran-among-those-losing-up-to-5600
  15. No personal experience but within a week it is suggested;
  16. You don't send your passport anywhere. You apply online. Might be a bit short of time now though.
  17. Are you 100% sure it wont work (besides contactless) when it arrives? From Barclays UK website; I’ve ordered a replacement card, do I need to do anything when it arrives? You don’t need to activate your new debit card when you receive it – it’ll be ready to use straightaway. If you want to make a contactless payment, you’ll need to do a chip-and-PIN transaction first.
  18. Many countries would physically cancel the old passport by cutting corners, hole-punching or stamping it as cancelled. If this is not the case for you then immigration will have no idea the old passport is cancelled/replaced when you depart and will just stamp you out, just don't show them the new passport. If you return you will of course have to re-start the visa/extension process but that would be the case anyway even if you transferred your current extension, unless you managed to renew it before you exit.
