  1. This is one of those things that only needs to be done only when it is actually needed. In other words no necessity to make a special trip to the bank or DLT for it unless you happen to like those trips. Renewing a driving license in particular will not be any issue with a new passport.
  2. What is needed will depend upon your airline, destination and vaccination status. Thailand itself does not require anything.
  3. Correct. For an A&E emergency. Hardly applicable in this case.
  4. If you can demonstrate that you have returned permanently then you are covered. See below from the NHS; Prove you are eligible for free healthcare The first time you have treatment anywhere in the NHS you will need to bring proof that you are eligible for free healthcare. You should bring at least two of the following documents: Residence in the UK Proof of your purchase of property or a tenancy agreement Recent utility or council tax bill payment UK bank account showing recent UK activity Employment status Payslip or letter from employer Bank statement Unique tax reference number Documentation from your local job centre to show that you are receiving job-seekers allowance You can also use documents that prove you no longer live abroad. For example, paperwork to show that you have: sold or rented your house in your previous country of residence terminated employment or studies in your previous country of residence shipped goods or transferred assets to the UK ended insurance policies and utility contracts

  6. Yes it will work. I did the very same thing 2 weeks ago. And yes you need to keep the app on the old phone to generate a security code for the "Device Switch".
  7. I set this up last year. It is definitely a number generated by you not HSBC. I have a cunning system to not lose all these passwords and other memorable stuff, I write it all down in a book.
  8. I had the same but DHL also sent me an email with tracking info when is was despatched back to Thailand. All rather efficient I thought at the time (2015).
  9. What an excellent idea; A: Nationals of the United States of America and 41 other countries are eligible to travel to Thailand, for tourism purpose, with the exemption of visa and are permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period of not exceeding 30 days. Therefore, you do not need a visa.
  10. A 90 day report has no bearing on your extension of stay. Doing a 90 day report at the end of your one year will not extend it. You need to renew your extension of stay in the 30 days(or 45 perhaps) before it expires.
  11. UK. Everyone over 50 can get a booster after 2 x Pfizer. 6 months after 2nd dose. Apparently it will "save Christmas".
  12. Wrong category, skill not required. Try rich or wealthy.
  13. Not according to the Embassy in London; "(Remarks The “Thailand Pass” will be approved by the central authorities in Thailand NOT the Royal Thailand Embassy. Therefore, please allow sufficient time for approval after registering for the “Thailand Pass”.)"
  14. Far easier to get a tourist visa, 60 days on entry, which you can extend in Thailand by 30 days, or 60 days to visit your wife. If you do make it to Vietnam do it towards the end of the 60 days and then re-enter Thailand visa exempt for 30 days. A lot will depend on the ongoing COVID entry requirements at the time which are not easy to predict, I wouldn't be making a side trip if Thailand Pass/insurance/testing/quarantine is still going on. As for the financial information you were given it's nonsense.
  15. The point is that your bank will have given you a terrible exchange rate. But not important if you are rich of course.
  16. You haven't met them yet so just send you hotel booking. Bonkers questions they have.
  17. If you were, for instance, in the UK and had a UK birth certificate then perhaps. But your passport is by far easier and what is needed in this case. If you were in the UK and had a Somalian birth certificate it would not help much.
  18. If you are a national of the country in which you are applying then you send a copy of your passport photo page. You will already have sent it but nevertheless this is what is needed. If you are in the country otherwise, i.e. on a visa, then send a copy of that.
  19. 1. Crop the picture of the certificate and just send the QR code. (as a jpeg of course). 2. How long will you be stamped in for? 30, 60, 90 days or until the end of a current extension? Use whichever applies. 3. UK to Thailand. Answers based upon nothing more than my own opinion!
  20. Or if you are over 50 (which you must be if staying in Hua Hin) you could get a single non-O based on retirement if you have money in the (UK) bank, I think its GBP 10,000. 90 days entry.
  21. When did they actually receive your application in the UK? You can tell that as the very first thing they do is take your money, or you may have had an email from DHL tracking. They currently quote an average 6 week turnaround for a damaged passport renewal. From recent reports on here I'd expect it back in time.
