  1. Those vaccinated = no quarantine at all Not vaccinated = no entry into Thailand Simple as that - provided that all those who wanted, got meanwhile vaccinated. The last sentence is the problem of Thailand, they've been d1cking around far too long with who buys where how many jabs - a totally uncoordinated mess, like most other things here. While Anutin and Sudarat are still word-fighting over who does/does not ...... other countries enjoy the overflow tourism of all those, who wanted to go to Thailand and now ended up in Southern Turkey, Caribbean, Central America etc. Europe is open and doing thriving business again, without the guided leadership of some 1d1ots from the political arena!
  2. It is all about power. Look at Buddhist holidays, celebrated in Burma/Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. Guess the only one country banning booze ...... Makes as much sense as the rule of no alcohol sales from midnight to 11am and 2pm to 5pm - shows only, how idiotic rulers decide and how nobody obeys the rules. A failed state, nothing else, Thailand is a failed state and - unlike most other failed states - this is due to their own politicians and people; Thailand cannot blame this on anybody else!
  3. My (Thai) wife had exactly that scenario and we went for option three with a deviation of the last two point. The bank representative, the seller and the buyer met at the land office. To simplify the transaction, easier amounts are shown hereafter. The purchase price was THB 2 million, the mortgage was THB 1.5 million and the transfer fee THB 0.1 million. My wife had a bankers draft in the name of the bank over THB 1.5 million, THB 400,000 in cash for the seller and THB 100,000 in cash for the various fees by the land office. The officer at the land office removed, on the behest of a form signed and stamped by the bank, the mortgage - which freed the land title deed (Chanote ) from any obligation. The officer then continued immediately with changing the ownership, also on the back of the land title deed to the buyer's name and 30 minutes later all was done. As all the papers in relation to the removal of mortgage and change of ownership are handed over to the officer at the land department at the very beginning, the land title deed comes, duly stamped and signed, back only once everything is done and dealt with! The identity of everybody involved is known with ID cards etc. so nobody would be foolish enough to try a runner ..... me thinks!
  4. It is this "throw dirty <deleted> at each other" time again; Anutin denies something while the Khunying is shoulder rubbing with a Thai born senator in the US. Masks are not necessary and the same might apply to the mandatory quarantine ...... I sometimes wonder, if these Thai political clowns are aware of how non-united and uncoordinated they act putting a seriously ridiculous light on Thailand and its people? Latter deserve better than a Khunying scraping for any photo-op there is ..........
  5. Changed from True via AIS to Dtac and told the latter I'd cancel the subscription the day I get spam stuff again. Never ever received anything "regular" ever since!
  6. Did the boys down at the TAT mention which year already?
  7. Energy minister Supatanapong Phanmeechao's comments reflect the general Thai position towards everything and anything concerning the dirty farang. It is people like him who are tantamount to the ongoing farang bashing and all this has absolutely nothing to do with treason. Why does this little <deleted> not focus on his main job and ensure uninterrupted power supply to all households? Proper management of energy resources spring to mind, i.e. educating the public on TV and in ads on how to use/handle/save energy? Why not getting the power wasters (shopping centres with open doors 24/12) to pay more than the average Joe. How about pushing for duty free import of solar panels into a country with 300 sunshine days and promote this with MUCH less bureaucratic paper avalanches in selling such power to the MEA/PEA? Maybe best would be to retire such pristine examples of ministers; Thailand could, should and must do better than getting "advice" from such lost souls ........ me thinks!
  8. Never a dull moment; I did not even know that they had silently invented yet another Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovations. Given the difference in road grid, infrastructure and logistic challenges, the numbers of Brunei and Vietnam are more than disappointing; outstanding though is Cambodia and Laos. Indonesia and the Philippines face the challenge of thousands of islands. If Thailand would have started straight away and not hick hack around between all those Ministries which all knew better and a Ministry of Public Health bashing less on dirty farang and more on "getting the job done", Thailand would be second also in percentage! Remember, of relevance is the percentage of population and not the absolute numbers: 77.37% Singapore 5,9 million , vaccinations administered 9,13 million doses 68,24% Cambodia 17 million , vaccinations administered 23,2 million doses 61.77% Malaysia 32,7 million , vaccinations administered 40,4 million doses 45.74% Brunei 443,000 , vaccinations administered 405,300 doses 31.93% Thailand 70 million , vaccinations administered 44,7 million doses 31.76% Lao PDR 7,4 million , vaccinations administered 4,7 million doses 22.55% Indonesia 277 million , vaccinations administered 124,9 million doses 17.52% Vietnam 98,3 million , vaccinations administered 34,1 million doses 18.58% Philippines 111,4 million , vaccinations administered 41,4 million doses
  9. Send 'em a postcard from Thailand - promote sandboxes, dual pricing, complicated visa, 90-days and ™-30 regulations and open data sources ...
  10. Interesting, how many "experts" are throwing in their piece of advice; I just noticed that all of them are ethnic Chinese ....... let's see. I was never in the real estate race hence never cared personally.
  11. My unimportant piece of advice; get it from the horse's mouth and ask the dealership selling the futuristic vehicle!
  12. Maybe tell the boys at the Thai immigration, that there are countries without any immigration on exiting the country. These countries could not care less and in a case like the Moroccon - good riddance. If they look for someone, then they access the PNL (passenger name list) as if a culprit travels with a fake passport under a different name, the immigration might be fooled as much as the airline carrying such people out of a country. What is there to prove by the boys in brown; if they would have been really on top of their job, they would have started "hunting" for him in droves 299 days ago already - or thereafter every 90 days ????????????
  13. Keep up the good work - the TAT will just love it. Meanwhile the Caribbean, Mexico and African countries are doing thriving tourism business due to the complete failure of Thailand!
  14. Dr Sophon Pornchokchai, chairman of the Agency for Real Estate Affairs, is a narrow-minded, complete idiot protecting the eliterian oligarch selected few. How many Thais own property (land, houses and entire condominium towers) all over the world, Dr Thaksin and the Red Bull clan in the United Kingdom, a popular singer in the 90s - Thongchai McIntyre - sat on nice property in Switzerland and other Thais own property in Germany. His online rant is proof again, that after the Chinese walked into Thailand after the Great March in 1949, they changed all these laws to keep the goodies to themselves and avoid others to follow their self-service attitude in Thailand. Unclear remains, who and what is treasonous. Retire the bloke and move Thailand into the 20th century (21st is still too far away though, me thinks).
  15. So the bootlegging from Malaysia, Cambodia and Laos is being felt finally? The tax coffers of Thailand lost zillions of Baht based on its shortsightedness on the subject. Smuggled booze in any form and packaging was offered to us before we sold our restaurant four years ago. Tempted many times but never went for it to avoid a showdown of smugglers in police uniform!
  16. Well, the ambassador is known for her shoulder-rubbing with Anutin, the chief of chiefs in public health. A little late in the season after all those blowing her own trumpet with Anutin and the Swiss foreign minister who winged in to drop some CHF 9 million relief goods which one would expect going to an impoverished African state. Clear communication from those who make the rules would be in order so not to further confuse the already confused readers!
  17. Wondering, what the TAT boys are doing now. The sandbox in Phuket still produces "positive" tests while the other box in Samui features arrests of pool players. All the while there is a meatball festival going on in Buriram - with thousands of Thais roaming the place for whatever might be in these meatballs .........
  18. I've done a fair number of deals and the rule is extremely simple. Show up with banker's cheques in accordance with a preceding agreement: xx % of the sum in the name of the bank (if a bank loan to the seller needs to get cleared); for this insist that a representative of the bank is present with the bank's paperwork on the loan as well xx % of the sum in the name of the seller, according to the land title deed And eventually: xx % of the sum in cash for your share of the transfer fees, if any Hand over these cheques only at the Land Department upon completion, i.e. ownership on the land title deed to your ownership choice. The original is with the seller, a "carbon copy" of it is with the Land Department as well as a Cadastral plan which allows to get the details of all those owners neighboring the land title deed in question. For copies of either, land title deed or cadastral plan, a Thai citizen needs to file the request against presentation of ID card and a nominal fee of a few hundred Baht. Good luck and if the deal has a stale aftertaste of murkiness - walk!
  19. a law banning torture and killings by state officials As if the sweetheart from Nakorn Sawan would care - do you think, he got he tremendous wealth and a car park by advising school kids on how to cross the road?
  20. Readily available, arrives in the mail and, together with your local Thai certification of vaccination you can get the latter transferred into this yellow book internationally recognized. The yellow book is i.e. in Nong Khai NOT available; I would have to hop down to Bangkok in person to get one. As Nong Khai is a border province and I intend to travel to Laos again the minute the border opens = hope that answers your query ????
  21. No, of course not, but you have the details of your two vaccinations. Take those original Thai documents and get the local office, which administered the jabs, to transfer the two vaccination details into the yellow booklet. Only they (or possibly a source within the Ministry of Public Health) are authorized to follow suit.
  22. A transport ministry advisor named Udon Olsan is now the Man of the Hour - it seems. Good luck to Hua Hin and do not expect anything to happen; just rely on the Phuket experience and if that is not good enough, take the sandboxing news from Samui island. Is there anybody in this government with a whiff of common sense - me wonders?
