  1. Once they tap that source, they are on the way out - will serve as a farewell gift for a well done job!
  2. Why does it not come as a surprise, that some pr1cks somewhere hidden behind a brown uniform invents laws and rules again? Either the lawmakers (and not some police goons) are revising the law on congregations in general, like location, number of people etc. Or they clearly say that the public in general and the most hated-Nonthais in particular have to shut up and get arrested for anything, which is not absolutely in line with the chief bananas. As they quite obviously fail to get their underlings to execute all those ideas born in air-conditioned offices or in the back of chauffeur-driven limos, they now rattle the cage with the non-Thai crowd. We're living in a failed state and it was a failure by its people to let such crooks creep into all those government offices. Welcome to Neanderthal!
  3. Wat Angkor and all the remaining witnesses of the Khmer Kingdom are here for the entire world and not for some narrow-minded people and their politicians, who will eventually (mis-)use this to stir trouble again. Remember the Khao Phra Viharn story some 10+ years ago? When these sites were built +/- one thousand years ago, there was no Indochinese kindergarten with "Cambodia, Laos or Thailand" in existence. It is like racism - came later and was introduced by some sick minds. Thais, yes, we know, never saw the purpose of R&D and why develop if you can copy illegally? Yet, having said that, no buyer of a real Rolex goes for a cheap copy sold by the truckloads everywhere in the land and likewise, no buyer of a copy would fork out the money for the real thing.
  4. Don't get me wrong but there is absolutely nothing - except life threatening circumstances - which I would justify stealing from a comatose person. There are other way, get an advance from the hospital, ask friends or postpone a due payment - before you "help yourself". Maybe harsh, yes, but there must be a line somewhere.
  5. Agree, but ever since DHL got nicely screwed on an issue some time back, ALL shipments are being produced at customs. I had a manual with pictures and drawings sent in and the customs wanted a hefty THB 1'870 on duties only. In addition, DHL wanted handling fees and said (no English spoken) that they could deliver only two days after clearance as they were "very busy". The manual, brand new, in German language was not even worth that much, but I needed it urgently. I had no choide but to pay up and collect it myself - despite having paid for a First class prime courier service. All other manuals came in through various sources, EXCEPT DHL and guess what, not a single shipment got stucked anywhere and delivered on the day of arrival in Pattaya. All shipments had the same declaration in English on the bubblewrap packaging. So, yes, duty applies irrespective of content but certainly not irrespective of freight forwarder or courier service you need. For me I rather die than use DHL ever again!
  6. To flood a beach road running parallel to the beach a mere few metres ........ worth a architectural OSCAR!
  7. Sick and tired of the subject. The government is responsible for: - education of the public and that, Ladies and Gentlemen, starts in Kindergarten, carries on through school, military service and a general understanding of the legal code of this country - law enforcement on a common sense basis - providing the necessary vaccinations to the general public You can go now and tick the appropriate; if you ask me, this beautiful government, like most of their preceding clubs of trough sows, have had different interests and are a total failure. Thailand is a failed state and it needs to go rock-, rock-, rock bottom and rise out of the ashes with a completely different mind set as far as all above points are concerned!
  8. Got shafted nicely by the same institution of highway robbery services. a) NEVER, repeat NEVER ever use DHL for anything like that, they skin you alive b) let the shipment be sent back to China, do not accept it. Like that everyone in the line can stuff it up wherever they want c) use Chinapost, UPS or Fedex instead - just avoid DHL!
  9. Fire and reprimand, demote the chiefs and give the latter a pay cut and a warning, that if this happens again, they are next on the firing line. What kind of state is all this - a bloody joke, nothing more than a bloody joke! A failed state from A to Z - thank you!
  10. Seven weeks into the programme, 110 flights carrying anything between 621 and 1058 passengers ...... let the numbers just sink in for a moment to realize, that this is a gigantic day dream and has nothing to do with a qualified tourism operation. Take those which are shown in the Phuket figures away, as well as those returning to families and work places ........
  11. Outdated headline; it should read "case concluded when it took place"!
  12. Well, if the media can be believed, the suffocated gentleman (the findings at the end might suggest, that he suicided himself) was "suggested" a no-plastic-bags-over-your-head-tariff of THB 2 million ..... Does this imply, that 300 other gentlemen with the same suggestion ........ paid up the fee and walked? Just wondering?
  13. Well, the Ministry of Information must be overworked with blocking all those international websites which publish true and untrue stories, facts and figures about Thailand. Those officers not busy with the above are closing all those websites of "ill repute" - understandeable they cannot also work on data security. What a joking farçe!
  14. Back in the day the number of official holidays per year was thirteen; to be substituted if falling on a weekend. Now it is 24; a hefty 11 days more to compensate the ever-overworked Khun Thai?
  15. Well, no surprises here. At least they should name the culprit with photos and details to really ensure, that she gets the message of what terrible act she did. It is not about the amount but the terrible character and mind set this woman has. It is theft; irrespective of robbing a bank or an unconscious patient = theft is theft. Put her in the slammer and demote her to never ever work as a nurse again!
  16. Please, could anyone just retire Dr Suwannachai Wattanayingcharoejnchai, chief of the Department of Health? Everything else on the issue is a waste of time, space and air ........
  17. So tell the sunny boy at the health ministry to stop bragging and swearing around about all those "alien" and "dirty farang" - it might be, that some of the locals desperately need the latter ones spending money ........
  18. Seeing the empty highways, inability of inter-provincial travels and curfews left, right and centre - all this combined with booze ban in public .......... If you ask me, the numbers overall would have to be considered gone up rather than down, so stop to blow your own trumpet and the the DLT-staff to 21st century standards, insist on a minimum of 20 hours of physical driving lessons given by certified driving teachers and the the blessed experts of road and highway planning to use their brain when planning branch offs and u-turns as well as speed management with green waves through urban areas with four, five and more traffic lights on the very same highway over a 2 or 3 kilometres stretch of straight road.
  19. Who are they trying to impress with their stage show? Prayuth received 208 "Nay" votes; 242 or more would have dethroned him. Me thinks, that the word "comfortable (majority)" is a little stretched in this particular case. Anyhow, we all know that the musical chair is in full action (not yet full speed though) and Prayuth is a mere place holder. While Anutin and Thammanat (with some Buriram backup) are playing "naughty" I believe the big hat trick will be showcased as of October 2022 - lets hope that I am wrong. Whichever way you look at it, Thailand is a beautiful country to spend your retirement, among mostly lovely people but in essence is a failed state in a free fall for a very bumpy short-term ride until there will be some light at the end of the tunnel. As Thailand's neighbours have problems of their own (military junta in Burma, Laos a "de facto" bankrupt colony of China and Cambodia chewing around with their primus-inter-pares for the last 37 years ......... Thailand will get away with some nasty bruises and scratches ..........
  20. Every single dose of Sinovac was an example of the friendship, solidarity and help that the Chinese people have for Thailand. Well, I would not expect anything else as the whole story with the bat on that wet market in Wuhan triggered off the biggest post-WW2 crisis on planet Earth. So much to friendship, solidarity and help - we could have done much better with less "help" coming out of Wuhan some 22 months ago! Trilliions of dollars destroyed (shifted?) and China expects kissing we-all-know-what! Pathetic farçe!
  21. Non-timber forest products? Reminds me of a law suit in the US on cigarettes, one of the big players in the industry got away as they were not selling cigarettes but "short-term nicotine delivery devices" and hence could not account for long-term damages ......... Every day is school day, me thinks, you learn all the time!
  22. Instead of focussing on the subject, some focus on ridiculing the post and its creator. Not knowing for sure, I just answer the question - usually - to stay clear from "spelling mistakes" ????
