  1. pick a story from most any country or city in the world that starts out with somebody was killed or mauled by a dog and you will win a lot of $$ betting that it will be identified as a pit bull...bred to fight with a bite strength beyond comprhension..yes sure there are a few "sweet little things" and there will always be those who blame the owner but in the end they were not intended to be pets and should never be breed and sold or given to anyone....ever. Seems the only way some people learn this is when their kid gets mauled or killed by the sweet little thing and then they have to live with their stupid decision the rest of their lives.
  2. I suspect anyone with a few working brain cells knows the "rigged election" is the one that has been blah blah blahed about by trump and the maga mob for years...remember that one where trump refused to accept the results and tried to foment a coup to illegally stay in power...remember when his followers were chanting hang mike pence? remember that one with 60 court cases and several recounts and investigations in state after state mostly all done by republicans that over and over found no evidence of any rigging? remember that one where trump orchestrated fake electors to try and over turn the election? remember that one where trump refused to concede, refused to meet with the real winner and has whined about it pretty much non stop for going on 5 years now? Oh but u must be talking about HRC who called trump the very night of the election and congratulated him and that was the end of that. Have a another glass of the cult kool aid and don't forget to harp on hunters laptop as well.
  3. oops..just googled viet nam and see no they do not confiscate motorbikes...friend there told me they did...apparently there is a big fine...in any case however or whatever they do in nam certainly works.
  4. Meantime in Viet Nam almost every one wears a helmet all the time. Very rare to see no helmet. Amazing what having your motorbike confiscated for no helmet will do to convince everyone to wear a helmet. Meantime back in Thailand almost equally rare to see people wearing helmet. If serious about at least attempting to cut down on deaths and serious injuries just copy viet nam??
  5. so is koh samet relatively free of the massive song kran and relatively normal? got any hotel/bungalow recommendations? thanks
  6. Already looking to get out of pattaya next year during songkran as personally I just do not like what it has become. If it were two or three days ok...but it now seems to last about ten days and to me that is just over the top too much. Watching and being assualted by a bunch of mostly fat falangs drunk and with no shirts acting like 13 y.o. kids night after night and getting massive buckets of mostly ice water thrown or shot into your face is not my idea of fun. I am very much aware that if anything it will likely get worse...so only real solution is to just leave town which i will certainly do next year.
  7. The worst the traffic gets the more i enjoy living within easy walking distance or easy short baht bus to most anywhere i want to go....central mall, the beach , buahkaow, etc etc...don;t have car or bike and don't want one especially if going out to have a few beers...may pay a bit more in rent to have great location but more than worth it in my life.
  8. As a long ago round the world backpacker in the days of "europe on $5 a day book" pre lonely planet, no phones no atms no tiny camera, go to post offices if u needed to call home etc these days when i see the younger backpackers wandering around I actually sort of feel sorry for them. Many of them seem so busy sending or posting videos and pics that they hardly even seem to notice all that is going on around them. When everything is in your hands like maps and online info and hotel bookings etc it certainly does make it so easy that you really don't much need to try and interact with people to figure it out. I also get a kick out of the amount of whining about oh my god my bathroom drain was no good or my room had a few skeeters in it , or i had to walk an extra km because google maps was wrong. Yeah right, i think you should have tried it 50 years ago. My back pack started big and got very very small as I figured out that I was going to be the one to have to lug it all around the world often walking miles trying to find a cheap hostel etc. I once spent days on old beat up buses with wooden seats little to no heat in dead of winter going from Iran to Greece...give that a try sometime. Now i see lot of backpackers who have both a giant backpack on their back and another one on their front...all i can think is "DUH"....especially in Thailand where it is generally hot and shorts and tee shirts work fine where there are laundries everywhere where if u should get into some cold weather up north there are all sorts of second hand coat/sweater places so why haul all that sfuff around for months to use for a few days...buy it use it donate it. Anyway...from what i see Thailand and overall southeast asia are still likely among the easiest places in the world to be a backpacker as you can still find cheap hotels/hostel in most any town or village u can always find some cheap food you can nearly always get internet, there is nearly always some local sort of transport to haul you most anywhere for not much $$ the weather is generally warm and yes overall the people will help you and treat you nicely even if you don't spend a fortune as long as you are not a total dxxkhead. Enjoy it while you can.
  9. When you are lying on your death bed i would guess the things you will most cherish is all the memories of the times you traveled the world and all the places you saw and the people you met ...not how much $$ you spent or didn't spend or will never spend because you will be dead....be glad that you took a path less traveled and didn't end up with some boring life maybe married to a witch and working in a job you didn't like which is what millions of people do.....enjoy it all while you can and let all those who want to spend their lives working to get more more more $$ go for it...in the end you will likely have lived a more interesting fulfilling life than most....as forest gump said "i may be an idiot but at least i ain't led no hum drum life".
  10. isn't musk set on having a few dozen spawns...great role model for population control.
  11. Data: Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget; Chart: Former President Trump ran up the national debt by about twice as much as President Biden, according to a new analysis of their fiscal track records. Why it matters: The winner of November's election faces a gloomy fiscal outlook, with rapidly rising debt levels at a time when interest rates are already high and demographic pressure on retirement programs is rising. Both candidates bear a share of the responsibility, as each added trillions to that tally while in office. But Trump's contribution was significantly higher, according to the fiscal watchdogs at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, thanks to both tax cuts and spending deals struck in his four years in the White House. By the numbers: Trump added $8.4 trillion in borrowing over a ten-year window, CRFB finds in a report out this morning. Biden's figure clocks in at $4.3 trillion with seven months remaining in his term. If you exclude COVID relief spending from the tally, the numbers are $4.8 trillion for Trump and $2.2 trillion for Biden. State of play: For Trump, the biggest non-COVID drivers of higher public debt were his signature tax cuts enacted in 2017 (causing $1.9 trillion in additional borrowing) and bipartisan spending packages (which added $2.1 trillion). For Biden, major non-COVID factors include 2022 and 2023 spending bills ($1.4 trillion), student debt relief ($620 billion), and legislation to support health care for veterans ($520 billion). Biden deficits have also swelled, according to CRFB's analysis, due to executive actions that changed the way food stamp benefits are calculated, expanding Medicaid benefits, and other changes that total $548 billion. Between the lines: Deficit politics may return to the forefront of U.S. policy debates next year. Much of Trump's tax law is set to expire at the end of 2025, and the CBO has estimated that fully extending it would increase deficits by $4.6 trillion over the next decade. High interest rates make the taxpayer burden of both existing and new debt higher than it was during the era of near-zero interest rates. And the Social Security trust fund is rapidly hurtling toward depletion in 2033, which would trigger huge cuts in the retirement benefits absent Congressional action. What they're saying: "The next president will face huge fiscal challenges," CRFB president Maya MacGuineas tells Axios. "Yet both candidates have track records of approving trillions in new borrowing even setting aside the justified borrowing for COVID, and neither has proposed a comprehensive and credible plan to get the debt under control," she said. "No president is fully responsible for the fiscal challenges that come along, but they need to use the bully pulpit to set the stage for making some hard choices," MacGuineas said.
  12. that ole sleepy incompetent senile joe and his flunkies sure was amazing how he was able to rig an election and leave no evidence and then somehow dig out of the giant mess of four years of trump running the debt through the stratosphere and hand off the economy that was the envy of the world...it's almost scary how such an incompetent idiot could have achieved that.
  13. feel better with a nice maga rant? Amazing how that old senile sleepy joe must have somehow convinced a hundred or more countries to manipulate all the figures regarding their gdp inflation wages unemployment etc to not fit to what your family and friends in california declared to be their maga interpretation of the worlds economies...not bad for an old senile incompetent man. Have another glass of kool aide.
  14. of course he does..it is a beautiful word "penis"...some don't know what a beautiful word it is "penis" ...i love to say "penis penis penis"....many people say that i have a beautiful penis...some people even say that my penis is the biggest and best penis they have ever seen....women rave about what a great penis i have..."penis penis penis"....some people even combine another word for penis..."dick"with admiration for my beautiful head and call me dxxkhead.
  15. maga goons? did they get arrested? Hegseth’s confirmation ultimately did not come down to Ernst. Instead, the final holdout was Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), who, like Ernst, is up for re-election in less than two years. According to a blow by blow Politico account, Tillis received inside pressure from Trump and his allies as well as from online “MAGA goons.” After 24-hours of defiance, Tillis caved. According to Vanity Fair, as Tillis was deciding, he faced serious threats of violence: “Tillis told people that the FBI warned him about ‘credible death threats’ when he was considering voting against Pete Hegseth’s nomination for defense secretary.”
  16. Tillis has recently dared to question a few of trumps actions like tariffs...very meekly not to upset too many...but already tillis is apparently receiving all sorts of vile threats from maga in NC for having the audacity to speak the truth or at least attempt to display a tiny bit of a backbone....so now lets be sure and follow up on all those threats as well. No worries though as long as threats from maga are all subject to pardons.
  17. So the trillions still down is no big deal...unless a part of those trillions were your life savings? Nothing hysterical about being concerned with massive losses over the past few weeks...it's called reality something like facts that maga seems to avoid at all costs.
  18. Nobody loves forms until a country lets in a buch of low life criminals then they all go on forums to complain about lack of controls. How long does it take to fill out this one? Two minutes? Oh the horror.
  19. well certainly your family and friends back in Ca are a more accurate source of info on the economy of all the countries in the world than the actual numbers that measure economies.....blinded by the light?
  20. Much ado about nothing...the things that some can find to obsess about never end.
  21. Yeah i really hated having the worlds best economy. I am sure all the maga morons are thrilled to see their 401 ks tank, while their social security and medicare is being threatened along with staff cuts meaning less service longer lines at all govt agencies...all while they watch mr trump play golf and plan 92 million dollar parades to honor himself. But don't forget to give the billionaires stock tips and tax cuts. So tired of winning.
  22. So just time the markets correctly no problem? Timing the markets is like trying to understand women. You may think you can figure it out but you will be wrong more often than right. Good luck.
  23. How much money could you make if you had a tip that he would announce the "pause" a day before? Billions upon billions? How much could you make if he declares next week that a few countries who he met with did not sufficently lick his boots so tariffs are all back on? Billions? Its very nice to be rich. Hey maybe i will donate a few hundred million to my good buddy down in florida ..even play a round of golf and tell him how great he is... Tell him: "Got any republicans senators or house who criticize you? No problem I will donate a few hundred million to support someone to unseat them in an election. By the way do you have any new announcements coming soon? " You scratch my back I scratch your back. The skys the limit. And are there any such thing as SEC investigators to look into insider trading ? I suspect they have all been fired or told there will be no such investigations period.
  24. Reporter: Mr. Trump it has been reported and verified that you have told thousands of lies as POTUS. Can you tell us What is your favorite lie? Mr. Trump: I don't lie Reporter: Yes that is my favorite one also.
