Thought the thread was going to be about Spams when I saw the bi-line.

If you're in the UK you don't get a choice. You get what they have. Both AZ and Pfizer are ok - as are the other vaccines.
The differences - well, if you're an epidemiologist, you should already know and if you are not then I wouldn't believe the guff from most of the pseudo doctors.
The fact is - as you will be aware - the UK is doing well in getting this thing under control and that's because of extensive vaccination by both AZ and Pfizer. The scare stories (probably put out by greedy US profiteers) of 'you get blood clots from AZ' are idiotic as the instances of these clots in vaccinated people is the same or lower than in unvaccinated people. As for side effects, some people have a headache, some get a sore arm, some experience no effect at all (I had my first AZ on 4th March and no side effect at all). I would prefer a sore arm to a week gasping for oxygen, as my sister found out. I'm off to get my second jab tomorrow...
Ask your local friends (who I guess will all have had one jab at least) what their experience was. You'll get the usual stories of aches and pains and grumbles, so then ask someone who spent any time in ICU.
It's really sad to see so many people putting so many scare stories around as it will only prolong the spread and deaths. We'll probably never get rid entirely of this virus but if between the body's immune system and jabs we can reduce the effects to the level of influenza, we can get back to some level of normality.
Now - back to the scare stories and the sinophobia......
The scare stories concerning AZ and blood clots were put about by the EU because they wanted revenge on the UK over Brexit. There's no evidence that you're more likely to suffer a blood clot after taking AZ than if you don't have a jab at all. Who knows how many lives this has cost? There's certainly blood on someone's hands in the EC.

I wonder why many criminals from Europe and Asia move to Thailand?
Most of the ""nice ones"" are also in Pattaya ????????????
I assume that's a rhetorical question and I resent the Pattaya bit. There're bad guys all over the country. I know the house actually, used to belong to a Brit ex copper I believe. I passed it quite often on my bicycle rides and walks, but haven't been on that route for a while. I never used to see any sign of life there, let alone Rollers, Porches and Mercs. The Brit must've sold it.

apart from the fact they will never have to available shots for one dose, this whole plan is a complete failure from the start, the second dose is just as' if not more important than the first, Anutin the builder better start listening to heath experts before he opens his mouth with this BS
and as for sinovac - nobody wants it, it might be considered as a last resort but definitely not first line treatment choice, it is being forced on people with an attitude - "better than nothing", I'd like to see a full financial audit of this G2G vaccine procurement
It's Thaksin's fault.

Miss UK took me by surprise, although it shouldn't have. Completely in line with present day thinking there. She could go on to be a top ranking detective in one of the BBC police dramas, just like one I binned recently.

For goodness sake, I knew this military lot weren't really up to the job from day one, but don't they have enough common sense to realise that all this u-turning makes them a complete laughing stock? Uncertainty isn't normally in the military vocabulary.

The Israelis are trying to do just that, but Hamas keep firing thousands of rockets at them. What would the Hamas supporters on here do if someone chucked loads of rocks into their garden? Shout "Good shot mate"??

Ours in the Phoenix Golf area is off all day today. <deleted> knows why they can't do them in December/January. It isn't as though they're emergency repairs.

Wish it could get back to 70+, 2004 was good year....
In 2007, I stepped off the plane here and thought "I can live really comfortably at this rate of exchange", blissfully unaware of the massive swing to the downside that was to come in the not too distant future. Then, I thought that the baht was Mickey Mouse money; I couldn't have been more wrong.

Unfortunately foreigners not conforming with the Covid regulations stick out like a sore thumb. I don't know about Phuket but yesterday I was walking through the Royal Garden plaza in Pattaya and noticed 3 expats sitting in the designated rest area chairs with out their masks on. True the chairs were far apart and most probably transmission of covid was unlikely but they don't seem to understand or care about the big picture. it would not surprise me that the chairs will be put away so that no-one will be able to sit down in the mall because the actions of a few selfish expats. I would like to add that when I was walking through the mall all Thais were in compliance.
Pity Thais don't obey the rules of the road as diligently, they'd save far more lives than complying with the mask rules. Saying that, I think it's insane not to wear a mask in public.

I have one about once a month almost exactly as you describe. It's impossible to remain calm because I feel that if I don't wake up, I'll die. I've had them for as long as I can remember, they're horrible.

I'm convinced that that many IO's like to be as difficult as they possibly can, because they have the power to be so, I can think of no other reason why the "rules" change so often when the Police Order doesn't.
I think this awkwardness is to drive you into the arms of the visa agents. It has to be money motivated, no human being would act like they do just for the hell of it. If they were pleasant and helpful, no one would use the agents.

again why are they turning this relatively simple process into a complicated circus
If people have underlying conditions then it is likely they are already being treated by a doctor - why not let their own doctor administer a vaccine shot instead of this constant authoritarian power and control cluster F
Time to hand control of this over to professional medical people and remove incompetent leaders who are standing in the way while trying to manufacture opportunities to enrich themselves
This is the rabble who you cheered into power.

In my last life I worked out of the BE in Washington DC so I’m well versed into what happens on a daily Basis sadly it’s the same old rhetoric day in day out ☹️☹️
I too worked for the Brit FCO for nearly 16 years and can also see through their blx.

I think it's the luck of the draw. I went a few weeks back and had to wait outside in a dirty great long queue nearly to the road. No queue-jumping for 90 day. This was on a Wednesday, mid morning and wasn't after or before a holiday weekend. Next time I'm going to do it by post unless I read good reports of the online reporting system.
