If it is true and provable that 95 percent of murderers and victims are minorities, why apologise for saying so? Rhetorical question.

Reading between the lines of the story in the “unquotable paper”, he was able to steal the weapons because they were stored complete, and with ammunition, in an insecure facility.
As I mentioned in another thread, standard practice during my military career was to store the bolt mechanisms in one strong room, the body of the weapon in another, and ammunition in a completely separate location. All were kept locked and required 2 sets of keys, which were kept in 2 separate safes. So virtually impossible for anybody to gain access to the weapons illegally.
Obviously the RTA don’t have the same sense of security.
When I was in the army many years ago, our armoury was behind a steel door, with a barred window through which the guns were issued. The guns were stored in racks with a chain (locked to the end of the rack) running through each trigger-guard. You had to have an incredibly good reason to sign out your weapon outside of normal parades, troop range classifications etc. If going to take part in shooting competitions, it had to appear on company orders so that the armourers knew it was ok to issue you the weapon. Amunition was kept in a sepaerate dump and had to be drawn by an officer or senior NCO.

Saw this first in the UK media this morning, so another downtick for Thai tourism.

That's why I refuse to fly Thai. I also never use long distance buses, any mini buses and speedboats. Wait till they get their high speed rail link, I probably won't use trains either. RIP to the dead, should never have happened. Incompetent, possibly drugged up children in adult bodies.

The only thing that surprises me is that there are people who thought he was straight. I was gobsmacked to find out that he'd been married all this time. Seems a nice guy though.

Surely jomtien accept a bank letter 1 day old don't they?
To make it 'same day' only is a bit unnecessary.
The book must be updated on the day of application at Jomtien, the letter I believe can be at least one day old, possibly more.

No this sadly is not satire. I myself use a 3M 95N mask when I go to the Central Shopping Mall here in Pattaya. I see very many Asian people using masks. But I don't see many Farangs using them. Now the question arises - are we using the masks sick or the others?
Why wear them when they're damn all good? Read the WHO report. By the way, yours are the only Thai apologist posts I've read today.

The first time I visited 12 years ago I stayed in town beside the river and enjoyed it immensely. I revisited last year and found the place overcrowded and extremely noisy. I also had to pay a farang price at the wartime museum (which I considered a cheek) beside the cemetery, which incidentally, had become run down since my first visit. I noticed there were now no farang working there either. Incidentally, the visitor centre at Hellfire Pass was shut. At least I was able to pay me respects at the pass. I won't be visiting again in a hurry.

Given that Jesus was poor, and not from Aryan stock it's likely that he would be turned away at the border.
If he didn't have the necessary documents, I'm sure he would be and quite right too. However, I'm sure he'd have just beamed himself across.

I'm not a supporter of feminism, but is there a painful practice carried out on their men, or is the agony reserved for women and animals?

But I have to say I have little sympathy for some longer term residents in that context because the opportunity was always there to transfer funds over many years, at a higher exchange rate. The only thing that prevented them from doing so was a lack of faith in the future of the Thai economy and a bizarre and abnormal distrust of Thai banks. For several years on TVF there were ongoing debates about falling exchange rates and a strengthening Baht, the writing was very clearly on the wall yet many chose to deny it.
If I could predict what the forex market was going to do I'd be a fabulously rich man by now. I personally did transfer money when the baht was lower, but not because I was able to predict that the pound would go lower, but because I needed a house for my family and me. I did personally try forex trading for a while but got out quick when I lost a few bob and realised that it wasn't as easy I thought it was. One other thing, if you use the opinions of people on here to judge currency movements, you're doomed from the outset.

I'm guessing none of you actually live in Thailand and that you're all just posting from bedsits in Morecambe or Bangor, if that's not the case and you actually live here, why are you still here if you dislike the place so much?
All of us who don't work here have a vested interest, in that we have to change our currency for baht. We generally love Thailand, but we have to think about surviving financially, therefore what's bad for Thailand is generally good for the exchange rate. If it wasn't for that, I'm sure we'd all be sympathetic during the present situation.

The concept of 'Safe braking Distance' is something unheard of and unthought of in this country. I've mentioned it on several occasions along with 'Speed and distance' to Thai friends and Wife's relatives and only ever get blank looks, they just don't 'get it' at all !
Correct. Also, when I back off to allow a safe distance in front of me, someone will overtake/undertake me to get into the space I've vacated. There's no way that their minds can compute that I'm doing it for safety reasons and not because I enjoy driving slow.

Trump has united the GOP, except for Romney who will soon depart, and Trump has the highest ratings ever among Conservative voters for a GOP POTUS - even more than Reagan The GOP was not united behind Trump when he started, and because of that the Dems won the House in mid-terms. After Trump is re-elected by a landslide in November, the GOP will control both House and Senate, and they will embark on a program of policies and changes that will transform America and not only undo all the Obama damage, but lock those changes in for decades to come.
Plus - Dems and all the Public Servants behind the fake FBI investigations, the Russia Hoax, and the partisan Impeachment, will all be Impeached and found guilty and sacked/charged. Never again will a POTUS have to go through what Trump has endured.
Forever a Fake Impeachment and Forever Not Guilty.
The worm has turned in both the UK and the US. The left is in its death throes.

Going on a cruise now seems like a bad idea. Cruise are great but now could turn into a high class jail like experience.
Wonder if you get billed for extra days. No problems if goid travel insurance.
Think the Coronavurus will be added to exclusions soon. Hop in and get your insurance quick.
Mate of mine and his wife were booked to fly out and pick up a cruise ship at Singapore just about now, putting in at Laem Chabang and HK, but his mother in law died so they had to cancel. A case of every cloud having a silver lining. Shame, because I was looking forward to meeting them for the day.

This reminds me of the movie "Life of Brian" when the messiah is preaching to the five thousand and someone in the crowd shouts "He's making it up as he goes along".
