Can't wait to see Margaret Court's reaction when a trans woman walks off with the Australian Open!
The way things is going, it's not a matter of if, just when.
Maybe, but you'll never convince me (or her) that it's fair.

two weeks ago there was the local business sponsored annual fair in my soi with many similar stalls and attended by all the high ranking local police, no issues were raised...
Every year at the Loy Kratong holiday on Ban Amphur beach there are stalls similar to this where the kids and adults seem to have lots of fun. Of course to generals in suits, fun isn't allowed. Don't know why they don't come right out and say it, rather than accusing them of promoting gambling.

Johnson has a bad memory. Was only 4 years ago when an American President got directly involved in a British vote when he made his infamous back of the queue jibe. Of course that was well and good according to the political left, yet now they panic in case Trump offers his opinions? Well I for one hope he does.
Drat! You beat me to it.

This election will be a confirmation of what the people voted for in the 2016 referendum. The remainers shenanigans have cost the UK billions over the last three years as well as making us a laughing stock with the rest of the world. It all goes to show that MPs are the servants of the people and should listen to what the majority are saying. After all, the purpose of the referendum was to let the people make a decision on what the MPs couldn't agree at Westminster over many years. Labour, the Tory (so-called) remainers and the rest of the opposition parties absolutely disgust me.

Not this old chestnut again! They drag it up before every election. If the treacherous Corbyn and his commie cronies get in everything will be nationalised, not just the NHS.

Usually when I meet a bar girl I am done with her after one night. I've only ever had serious girls before from like 7eleven and the kind. So what I basically wanted to know was if this one is worth getting serious with or if I should find a new girl that has an ordinary job.
Seeing that you aren't living here permanently and are such a young age, I wouldn't get serious about any girl here, bargirl or otherwise. Up to you, but if it were me, I'd just get a new one (or several) each time I visited. If you aren't the one-night-stand type, you could just hire one for the time you're here. It's cheaper by the month.

Can't believe that 32% of my countrymen would vote for a party led by a treacherous, anti-semitic, commie.

Since the announcement of TI showing "leniency" I started transferring reasonable amounts until I got the 400k in the bank. The reason being that I didn't trust TI to show leniency when there was the prospect of making some tea money. As it turned out, Transferwise compounded it anyway by sending a couple of transfers to BBL via Kbank. As it got closer to my extension date in October and seeing several people refused leniency, I realised that I'd made the correct decision. It always pays to have a contingency plan here, especially when hard an fast rules aren't written down in the police order.

“I am a bit frustrated with this situation, yes. Because it’s a complete reversal ... It’s like the Tory party who I never support are doing something that I support, when the Labour Party who I would always support are doing something totally different that I don’t support.”
For any sane person who hasn't been brought up with the brainwashed, "Labour, cradle to the grave" mentality, then there is no choice, you vote for whatever party you think brings you and your country the most benefit. It isn't like supporting a football team where you follow them through thick and thin, this could be a life changing decision for you and your descendants.

He was living here as student for the last 2 years.
Not here for family reasons.
Not here for (legal) work reasons.
Not here for retirement reasons.
Not here for educational reasons.
Is it because he simply wants to live here?
He's got no birthright for that. Get out, you're not welcome.
Is he working here illegally, as a criminal?
He's a 'tourist', here on holiday, according to his visa. Strange advice to give to a 'tourist'.
I'd drop the first word of your username if I were you.

Yes, it is illegal because there is a maximum number of days in a year that you can stay in Thailand on a tourist visa.
Can anybody live in your home country 12 months every year on a tourist visa alone doing visa/border runs to extend their stay?
The OP is posting about Thailand on a Thai forum, why the comparison?

Not everyone are married/old enough to get the retirement visa or dumb enough to pay a tons of money for a elite visa. As long as he is not working illegally, are a criminal etc there shouldn't be a problem, people that spend money should been treated like a criminals, time the Thai immigration starts to require background check from home country and show you have money from that are earned not in Thailand so they can continue live here on whatever visa they want as there are no options for those.
One day the might hit the retirees harder and most of you will moan, some if you guys thinks they because you have retirement visa means you are immune to be affected, no you are not.
Don't blame us retirees, it's the Thais that make the rules. We're suffering almost as much as you young beggars.

I'm ex armed forces and can assure you that what happens on active service cannot be judged by a group of civilians away from the theatre of conflict. It's too easy to look at things in the comfort of your armchair, especially by those who've never taken arms in the service of their country. Active duty is lots of boredom broken up with periods of intense action which requires split second decisions which no amount of training can prepare you for. Those who've never served on active duty should refrain from commenting on something they know nothing about. Battle indidents should not be judged by civilian standards, they're chalk and cheese. If anyone asked my advice about volunteering for military service these days, I'd strongly advise them against it. It's difficult enough trying to protect yourself against the enemy without your own people, who you're attempting to protect, trying to stab you in the back.

It was impossible for them to be able to accurately verify the income of all requests without a larger team, significant leg work and cost.
Too many people were outright lying on their income claims and the Embassies were unwilling to sign off on a legal document they were unable to verify.
Of course, people blamed the Embassies for their change of policy, however, really its the immigration requirement which is awkward for some to meet and when they can't they unfairly complain at their Embassy for not being willing to verify / notaries their spurious income claim.
Basically, some folk are upset they can't use their Embassy to lie for them.
"Too many people were outright lying on their income claims and the Embassies were unwilling to sign off on a legal document they were unable to verify."
Grateful for some verifiable examples, or are you just making it up as you go along? I think too many people are tending to make this statement just to make Thai immigration look blameless for some reason. Rose-colopured specs maybe?

That's a very patronising post. Nothing disturbing about it at all. I think most people have no problem getting together the 800k baht, but for various reasons prefer to do the monthly income or marriage visa method and it's perfectly legal according to the immigration rules. In my own case, I don't want to pop off leaving 800k in the bank here. My wife has the house, car and everything else I have in Thailand and she has a good job teaching, so I'd like to have a reasonable sum in the bank at home to leave to my youngest kids in the UK.

Another scare story put out by the lefty media. As they've been doing for many years, people are putting a few bob away for Xmas by cutting down spending in the months prior to it. Looking at the latest election polls, Brexit has never been more certain. Move along.

The question to ask, is how many Thai drivers would pass ??
When generalising Thai drivers are worse than those with more stringent testing process and a more stringent police force - that's just common sense.
British drivers, or drivers or any nation would be as equally poor as Thai drivers if we had equally limited education and testing standards.
"British drivers, or drivers or any nation would be as equally poor as Thai drivers if we had equally limited education and testing standards."
I respectfully disagree. I think Thai face and stubbornness as well lack of deterrent and enforcement is the problem on the roads. You can't tell me the Thais don't know you're supposed to stop at a red light or you aren't allowed to drive against traffic. It's all about number one and beggar everyone else with Thais.

What astonishes me is that 27% of British people want Corbyn as PM. Cradle to the grave; red rosette on a pig crowd I suppose. Strange, I read yesterday that the Tories had opened up a lead of 14 points.

Three things to drastically reduce these numbers, but it'll never happen because of Thai pig-headedness:
1) Strong deterrent.
2) Real-time policing especially in moving traffic.
3) Bring in advisers from countries with good road safety record.

I used to live in town where I thought it was really noisy. I moved to the countryside near the beach, but it turned out to be noisier than the town. I figured that if I moved away from the beach (noise wasn't the sole reason for moving) it might be quieter. It wasn't! Loads of noise from temple, neighbours dogs (especially) and bass-heavy stuff from shacks in the middle of nowhere. I'm convinced that the quietest place to live in Thailand is in the middle of town, in a good quality condo which has double glazing and floor and ceiling insulation.
