Non-OA mandatory health insurance from LMG?
ubonjoe replied to JTXR's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Immigration will only stamp you into the country to the day your insurance expires when entering with a OA visa. If you got a new insurance they would stamp into the country to the day is expires or for one year. -
Volunteer visa from UK Embassy
ubonjoe replied to drronnie's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It certainly would not be a problem getting a extension of stay based upon working as a volunteer if you entered the country with a non-o visa issued by the embassy in London. This from the embassy website. You would apply for the visa on the e visa site. Source: https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/84508-non-immigrant-visas?page=5d6636cd15e39c3bd00072dd&menu=5f4b6eb3f6ae4b236972c562 You could also apply for a legit non-o visa at immigration if working with an organization that can provide the correct supporting documents. Transferring visa stamps to new passport
ubonjoe replied to skillboy88's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Immigration does not transfer visas. The will do a stamp with spaces for info about your old passport and the visa used to enter the country that gave you the permit to stay you have been extending. -

To prove income for a extension of stay application requires a year of transfers from abroad every month. For the combination option they will use the total of all your transfer for a year and you will need a total of income and money in the bank totaling 800k baht. The amount needed in the ban after the application is done depends upon the office you apply at. Some want at least 200k baht and others 400k baht for the entire year.

Quick question about visa extension
ubonjoe replied to finger's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
When checking in for the flight to here the airline can ask for ticket out of the country within 30 days. It can be a one way ticket to anywhere or temporary onward ticket for about $12 that you can find online by searching for onward ticket. -
The Thailand pass does not require you to have a return or onward ticket. The airline can ask for a ticket out of the country. It can be one way ticket to anywhere. He is referring to a temporary onward ticket that you could show to the airline. They can be obtained for as little as $12. Do a search for onward ticket and you will see many sites offering them. You could get one a day or so before your departure date to show the airline if asked for.

Covid extension issues?
ubonjoe replied to ChomDo's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The current order for the 60 day covid 19 extensions ends on the 25th of this month. If extended for another 2 months you could apply for one in April. You could try to apply for one shortly before the 25th but most immigration offices would not do it that early. -
Thai wife must accompany me?
ubonjoe replied to Toolong's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
He has his passport. He going to immigration to get the stamp for his one year extension of stay stamp done at immigration at the end of a 30 day under consideration period. -
That is certainly not correct. In the center of Ubon city you might see some high readings. If not there there is enough wind to keep the air clear. It certainly is not the same as Chiang Mai city.

The majority of office would not require proof it came abroad if the 800k baht has been in the bank since October. If it has been in the bank for at least 2 months since that is the amount needed for a extension. The reason they want proof it came from abroad is due there is no amount of time it has to be in the bank before applying to insure it was not borrowed to apply for the non-o visa.

Thailand Pass/enter Thailand insurance question
ubonjoe replied to Sjoerd's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If applying for a non-o visa based upon retirement you would only need 90 days of insurance and it can be from any company it it meets the requirements. I can recall people using travel insurance to meet the requirements. I am about 100% sure you will not be getting a multiple entry non-o visa based upon retirement. I am not aware of any embassy or official consulate that is issuing them. -
A few questions about 90 days report
ubonjoe replied to drori8's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I assume you do not have a valid non-b visa that will allow a 90 day entry and actually have a extension of stay based upon working with a valid re-entry permit. Where was you extension of stay issued? You first report can be done online and you would use the address used when applying for the extension. To do the 90 day report in Ubon you would need to change your address to there and that could cause problems with your extension of stay. -
She would not need to show financial proof to apply for a extension based upon being a family member of a person on a extension of stay. The problem at this time is getting the required non-o visa required to apply for it. Immigration will not issue one for her and since covid 19 started the majority of embassies and official consulates will not issue one on that basis.

It can be done at any immigration office but it has to be the designated office for where you are staying at. They will want proof you are living in the province where the office is located. That can be a TM30 report. Your wife will need to be with you when you apply for it. You will use a TM7 form to apply for it. Copies of your passport photo page, visa, arrival stamp and TM6 departure card. Copies of your marriage certificate, wifes house book registry and ID card. Some offices may want a recent printout of your Kor Ror 2 marriage registry that can be requested at any Amphoe.

Thai wife must accompany me?
ubonjoe replied to Toolong's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I don't think she will not need to be with you. There is no reason for her to be with you. If they did not want to do it you could go back the next day with your wife. -
Thai wife must accompany me?
ubonjoe replied to Toolong's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Probably done by me. My wife has done it without me being with her many times. My daughter did it one time.
