They would use their Thai passport to get that done. They re not required to leave the UK and they would show their Thai passports to the airline to prove they do not a need a visa to enter Thailand. -

What law would that be. Can your provide a link to it. As I have already written immigration will do the extension with a short overstay. I am aware of immigration telling people to overstay to get time for the money to be in the bank. I don't advise people to do it but there are cases where it can happen without any repercussion other than the overstay fine.

Covid 19 insurance is not required to apply for a extension of stay (it is not a visa) at immigration. It is only required for a entry to the country. -

You wife and child will use their UK passports to depart the UK. The will register for the Thailand Pass using their Thai passports and everything they do when arriving in Thailand and after that as well. -

Are you living in Bangkok? You have to apply for a extension of stay at the office where you're living. You children's will not need financial proof to apply for extension based upon being a Thai national. There should be no need to have their birth certificates to be translated since they are in English. You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your Thai wife. No financial proof is needed.

It can take several days for approval at some offices. Immigration does not work on weekends so it may of not been that many working days since you did it.
