ubonjoe replied to changthenomad's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can apply at immigration in Bangkok it that is where you are living and attending school. You can apply with a 30 day visa exempt entry or the 30 day extension of it. You must have at least 15 days remaining on your stay from from your entry or the 30 day extension of it to apply for the visa. -
Question about Retirement Visa
ubonjoe replied to CFC's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You will only apply once a year for the the one year extension. A re-entry permit will keep the remainder of the extension valid every time you enter the country. You can get a single (1000 baht) or multiple (3800 baht) re-entry permit that will valid to use for entry up to the day your extension ends. -
Change TR to ED visa (issue)

1. Where will you be applying to the non-ed visa? A police clearance is not required if applying at immigration. See: https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/3.FOR-EDUCATION-NON-ED.pdf Not all embassies require a police clearance to apply either. -
Same for mine and the dates are the same.

It is still in limbo. Was showing in transit. Did a request for a check about it not being delivered and shown in transit. Result was that it is lost or missing. Went through the long process to complete a missing mail request. It now shows this on tracking.

Question about Retirement Visa
ubonjoe replied to CFC's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can apply for a one year extension of stay based upon retirement and travel as much as you want to after applying for a re-entry permit to keep your extension valid when entering the country. -
She could get the Kor Ror printout done there.

You will only need 800k baht in a bank account in your name only for 2 months on the day you apply. Your wife will not need any financial proof to apply for a one year extension for being a member of you family. Be sure your marriage certificate has been legalized by an authority in the country (or the embassy) where you registered your marriage. and if not in English translated to Thai and certified by the Department of Consular Affairs in Bangkok.

Re-entry, Passport Expires Less Than 6 Months
ubonjoe replied to Forza2002's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just an error by the airline for entering Thailand. Check the IATA site here by entering the required info here. https://www.iatatravelcentre.com/passport-visa-health-travel-document-requirements.htm Bali has different rules than Thailand. -
Re-entry, Passport Expires Less Than 6 Months
ubonjoe replied to Forza2002's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That info is out of date. People enter the country all the time without 6 months remaining on their passport. -

You have to do it before you current extension of stay ends. -
90 Day Reporting Dates
ubonjoe replied to stament's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The office you reported to did that. Many offices do that when doing it in person, by mail or online. The online reporting system does not set your next report date. -
Re-entry, Passport Expires Less Than 6 Months
ubonjoe replied to Forza2002's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No There is no requirement to have 6 months remaining on your passport for those from most countries. -
It appears you were issued a multiple entry non-o visa (it is not a tourist visa of any kind) based upon retirement. If you are 50 or over I do not see any problem with using the non-o visa. You will get a new 90 day stay every time you use it to enter the country for one year from the day it was issued. METV's are still being issued.

90 Day Reporting Dates
ubonjoe replied to stament's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It will not be a problem if you do not do the report before leaving. Your 90 day count resets it to zero when you leave the country. Your first report after returning will be due 90 days from the day you enter the country. -

Visa for child under 15 years.
ubonjoe replied to Ally2900's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Immigration was correct. It will not be a problem to leave the country. Immigration will do a stamp stating your child is exempt from paying a overstay fine due to being under the age of 15. -
