  1. He cannot change non immigrant visa categories without leaving the country. He could change the reason for his extension of stay (it is not a visa) from retirement to teaching with all the required documents to apply for it. But the big problem he would have it getting a work permit application approval to apply for the new extension of stay.
  2. I suggest you do the application to find out if it is approved. Best to not mention it to somebody on the phone. They might think you are still on the volunteer extension.
  3. When? And was it a agent for them or directly to Thai Elite? Were you asking about changing to a Thai Elite visa without leaving the country? That cannot be done unless your are on a tourist visa or visa exempt entry.
  4. As said your 90 day reporting and your extension dates are not linked. My extension expires next month and I did a online report that was approved on the 7th of this month and my next one is due in October.
  5. No changes other than it being easier to enter the country or to enter neighboring countries. Apply for a Thai Elite visa and wait for it be approved then leave the country and enter by air ot have you visa issued at Suvarnabhumi. Or leave and re-enter to end you current permit to stay and start all over again by applying for a Elite visa and having it issued.
  6. It is available and many people have entered the country without a visa and got one.
  7. You should do your 90 day report now. It and your extension are not linked. You can apply for your extension early and the new extension will start from the day your current extension ends.
  8. You will need your e visa that is sent by email to enter the country. Immigration will want a printout of it. If you do not receive it before arriving you could enter visa exempt to get a 30 day entry and then leave and re-enter the country to use it.
  9. The Thai embassy in Vientiane is open and will issue a tourist visa. Info is here on the consular section website. https://thaivisavientiane.com/#
  10. Yes You will apply for a extension of stay based upon marriage instead of retirement near to the end of your current extension.
  11. If you changed back to a extension based upon marriage you could then register a company or a partnership with your wife (51/49 ownership). Then you could apply for a work permit.
  12. You can make a appointment for both of them. See: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/ImmigrationOfficeGovernmentComplexChaengWattanaRd@imm1division.onmicrosoft.com/bookings/ The transfer appointment only shows 10 minutes to do it. You will need copies of both passport photo pages. Not sure about CW but many offices will want a copy of every page of your old passport that has a stamp or sticker for Thailand on it. For fo doing it: Transfer Stamps To A New Passport You will use a TM8 form for the reentry permit with a 4 X 6 photo attached. Fillable TM8 re-entry permit form.pdf You will need a copy of your new passport photo page, stamp with info about your old passport and visa, your extension stamp. The fee for a re-entry permit is 1000 baht for a single and 3800 baht for a multiple.
  13. Normally immigration will waive the transferred from abroad proof if you have had the funds in a Thai bank for a long time.
  14. Have you applied for the standard 30 day extension yet. You have to do that before your apply for the 60 day covid 19 extension. You will select the tourist visa extension for the appointment.
  15. Same for me if I had not read about it on this forum. Mine is very old and taped together at the fold that was needed to keep it in my passport.
  16. That is the new TM6 that they came out with a few years ago.
  17. I have seen no reports of that happening. I am sure immigration offices are aware that they have not been done since July 2nd.
  18. Yes you need a 4 X 6 cm photo for the TM8 application form.
  19. It appears you would have time to apply for your extension after returning from your trip. The under 30 day consideration period starts from the day you apply and allows you to stay in the country until your extension is approved. Just be sure you have a re-entry permit to use when returning.
  20. The 30 days is a normal extension allowed for a 30 day visa exempt entry. It has been available since August of 2014. Laksi
  21. I don't think it would be that hard to of have a witness sign it at his home. I think there would be notaries would go to his house and witness his signature on it.
  22. It has about the same info that the SSA posted on their website in June that was posted on this topic.
  23. Two per calendar year. There are very few countries that do not have a 2 entry limit at land border crossing.
  24. A visas validity starts from the day it is issued. For a (METV) that is 6 months. When applying for a multiple entry visa it is best to try have it issued shortly before you start your trip.
  25. With proof he is unable to travel to immigration his wife could do the extension application for him. If able to do it he could do a power of attorney allowing his wife to get the needed financial proof from a bank.
