  1. Well I've been to the compound at Soi Khorpai and its not there, so my friends where are the other compounds PLEASE!

(note the cops will not assist, I suspect they just want to keep foreigners bikes!)

(BIG C Suhkumvit {covered bikes} are bikes that are sold on weekend auction / sales only)

  2. Please help:

Had my Honda Airblade taken from Bali Hi Pier a few days ago (Reg pattaya 50) It was loaded with 30 (all) others onto pick up?

Does anyone know location of places cops keep them, they wont assist me. I believe there are 4 locations?

Reward if found by you 5000 Baht

  3. Why anyone would want to bring up a child in Pattaya I dont know...no parks, no safe roads, unsafe pavements, dirty beaches, filthy water, nothing for children, many break-ins, high murder rates etc, surely somewhere like Hua Hin would be better?

Dont get me wrong I think overall Pattaya is a great place, but not for children!

  4. Not wishing to argue, but I go everyday to the beach either Jomtien or Pattaya and both are the same price...30 Baht for a chair and 30 baht for a มะพร้าว (coconut)

When you have children, its best to agree price in advance (usually nothing)

    Best

  5. Yes, I can believe this, it often happens, especially as your body adjusts to the drugs......but changing Doctors is not always the answer, as then you are just starting again...what you need to do is go back to your Doctor and explain the symptoms and ask to change the drugs for an alternative, there is about 100 differing drugs for BP

    Paul,

Thank you - unfortunately I was given 3 meds to take and it basically turned me into

a zombie while just barely getting my BP #'s into the 'acceptable' range.

Looking for a real doctor and not a pill pusher.

  6. Rectifying Blood pressure takes several months of adjustment for many patients, and in particular life style impacts greatly, ie diet, exercise, existing health issues etc, so there is no quick fix, you should find a doctor I suggest with an understanding ie one of the larger practices in Pattaya like Dr Belem, Dr Ben or I suggest a hospital practitioner.

I guess you want a miracle cure, well sorry with Blood pressure this does not happen:

There are five main classes of medicines that are used to lower blood pressure:

    Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors

    Angiotensin receptor blockers

    Calcium-channel blockers

    Diuretics (water tablets)

    Beta-blockers

ACE inhibitors - sometimes cause an irritating cough.

Angiotensin receptor blockers - sometimes cause dizziness.

Calcium-channel blockers - sometimes cause dizziness, facial flushing, swollen ankles, and constipation.

Diuretics - can cause gout attacks in a small number of users, or can make gout worse if you already have gout. Impotence develops in some users.

Beta-blockers - can cause cool hands and feet, poor sleep, tiredness, and impotence in some users.

One medicine can reduce high blood pressure to the target level in less than half of cases. It is common to need two or more different medicines to reduce high blood pressure to a target level. In about a third of cases, three medicines or more are needed to get blood pressure to the target level. So, for example, you may need an ACE inhibitor plus a calcium-channel blocker (and sometimes also another medicine) to control your blood pressure

Treatment is guided by the A/C, A+C, A+C+D approach as follows:

If you are less than 55 years old and are not of black African or Caribbean origin then initial treatment should be with 'A' (an ACE inhibitor, or an angiotensin receptor blocker if an ACE inhibitor causes problems or side-effects).

If you are 55 years or older, or are of black African or Caribbean origin then initial treatment should be with 'C' (a calcium-channel blocker).

Then, if the target blood pressure is not reached, combine 'A' with 'C' (an ACE inhibitor or an angiotensin receptor blocker plus a calcium-channel blocker).

Then, if target blood pressure is still not reached, combine 'A' with 'C' and 'D' (an ACE inhibitor or an angiotensin receptor blocker, and a calcium-channel blocker, and a diuretic).

If a fourth medicine is needed to achieve the target blood pressure, consider adding of one of the following:

    A beta-blocker

    Another diuretic

    An alpha-blocker

I hope this helps you understand how not to end up with a stroke or dying!

    Good luck

    Paul

  7. Hi,

There used to be a shop at the front of Made In Thailand (2nd Road) before it was rebuilt, run by a Israeli young guy and his Thai wife, selling Jeans and good shirts, does anyone know where he is now please? (No silly comments thanks)

  8. Take it to DC Computers, 3rd floor on Tuk.com, ask them and they will take apart, apply some external connectors and show you the data is still okay, (if not the circuitry, they will assist you further) then you can ask them to get you a new case with (circuitry standard) and they will charge you cost of case (plus a tip if you are feeling pleased?) Time? 5 minutes.

I understand everyone has good ideas how to help you, but I believe this is an easy fix.

  9. Sorry but you dont understand....inside the case is some micro-circuitry which the drive inside the case is fitted into inside the case....this circuitry packs up often...so when you buy a new case the new circuitry inside is replaced, when you refit the hard drive...hey presto

So do you understand, its not magic! I have fixed 100's this way

    Best

  10. Very common problem...external hard drive circuit is u/s...take to tuk.com and ask them to remove internal hard drive unit and fit into a new case..cost 350 baht+- ...this usually fixes it..DC computers 3rd Floor or any competent shop can do this in 3 minutes.

  11. Go to Tops supermarket on Pattaya Klang...outside the supermarket in the lay by is the pick up point, a guy sitting under the umbrella runs it all etc. The minibus leaves every hour on the hour to Hua Hin, via change at Bangkok, very simple, 350 Baht.

Don't use the direct service at 400 Baht, it stops at nearly every small town along the way!

  12. Thanks and point taken, its well chained and I guess then thats it!

Well, thanks for all the comments, yes you are right that the best I could get in Pattaya was 78,000, so I looked around and I bought at a Sattahip dealer 68,200 and with nothing included, but with 2 years theft and 2 years government compulsory insurance, tax, registration, red plates for 2 months and delivered by pick up to Pattaya all arranged today etc it came to 73,500, (I took a thai friend to help with the price, and by the way they had plenty of bikes including the red ones).

yes and as "Thailaw" states the manufacturers list price is 68,500 base price but the dealerships do get further discounts if they order enough.

That's good, i know of two people who have had their PCX's stolen recently, apparently they are the current target of choice for the A hole thief's!! , make sure yours is chained to something solid, these feckers just pick them up and in to the back of a pick up, dismantled en-route and sold for parts at the Cambo border!!

  13. 14. Well I've been around today and was quoted 68,200 with two years theft insurance, tax and paperwork completed etc. Would like to get a red one though they seem to be in short supply in that colour!

Anyone seen the red one around for sale please?

    Thanks for replies

  15. I see the US military is in town....what a change over the years!! Watching them shoulder barge past tourists along the beach front, challenging anyone who looks at them, swigging their bottles of beer...to think I have all my life held the USA (and the military) in respect?

Forget the efforts they make painting orphanages etc when they are here, its all ruined by the attitude of them out and about.:bah: Worse than any tourists including the brits, ruskies etc.

  16. Chinese baby milk!! You must be mad! :jap:

It is recommended that mothers breastfeed for six months or more, without the addition of infant formula or solid food.

Recommedation's are fine and dandy if the mother produces enough milk.

I've got a 2 month old and Mom would have to produce like a Holstein to feed my little guy.

To the OP, I'm not down south so not subject to the panic buying, But I've found Enfalac 1+ year old formula just about everywhere. Check 7/11, Lotus and other name shops. Failing that I've found the mom and pop shops everywhere are stocked with baby formula and diapers/wipes, some of the smallest shops have loads of the stuff. The Chinese stores that you have a hard time walking in usually have lots of stock stashed away.

Good luck and hope you find what you need.
