Above suggestions all good. Airfare wise Saigon is cheap. District 1 and of course old quarter Hanoi.

SR is fantastic but absolute minimum is 3 days. That's just to see AW.

PP for me is ordinary but killing fields confronting and nice to chill near river area. Forget Sihnanokville. ****hole. OP didn't mention where from. USA no longer have short visa options to Vietnam. On other hand some get 15 day visa exempt. UK just one example of many

Not always the case.  Even though in an international airport before yoI enter customs, you are still under the "jurisdiction" of that country.  That is why some countries require a transit visa.

I am only familiar with mainland China requiring it, but it appears that Ireland does to for certain countries.

Well I,ve been several times recently to Guangho (sorry about spelling) and stayed outside of Airport at a hotel...i was given a cardbord visa at the airport every time, no forms or anything.

  3. Air Asia do not have a 1st class.

You can purchase a premium flex option, but all that gets you is :

Lounge access for international flights departing LCCT KL only and
express boarding at the gate and priority  baggage. It does not offer the priority lane at immigration.
    I have used before.

Sorry to hear of your girlfriend's friends story, I am not posting to be argumentative but one part of your post I do not feel is true is the part above. The drugs to treat HIV are now not expensive and very available, and Thai national's can get them under the 30 baht health scheme. There is a seperate dedicated building at Banglamung hospital that is open on Tuesdays and Fridays for this purpose.

Another very good resourse for anyone affected by HIV is here:

www.okwecare.com (website in English and Thai)

To the OP if your gf comes across any other friends in a simular situation she could pass on this information to help them.

RIP to your GF's friend, it is very sad to hear of someone dying at only 30 years old of a condition that can be so easily and cheaply managed in 2016.

Your comments are fairly correct, and I can confirm all required drugs are available for Thais in Thailand, I have worked with an NGO who help all in need with AIDS and other illnesses including somewhere to live and care, with no charge etc.

You are better off spending 1000.Baht on a private taxi. (I just wanted to say that before someone else did, but in truth, it's very risky leaving at 5AM not to mention, risky being outside at that hour in Pattaya.) Another idea...since we are here..why not go over there at 5AM and look for yourself?(you say next week is when you are flying)

If there is no bus advance reservation / booking then they will not be there at all,. So hard to check in advance.

  6. They used to be terrible, but they now perfectly acceptable.

They offer a 7am Heathrow arrival time, with about a 2 hour stopover at Bahrain.

The planes are new and have personal tv screens with a good choice to watch. usb socket available also for phone charging.

The food however is only average, but lets not forget they are usually the lowest price.

Well I followed every single piece of advice I saw that told is to us IE browser (or equivalent tab) - not Chrome, and without any blank screens I got a confirmation email 2 days later.

Exactly...it only works fully in IE.

I sent a comment earlier today...here it is repeated:

    Dear friends

online 90 day works fine, the trick is to understand it!

It will only allow online reporting within a time span of 15 to 7 days before date due. It will only work on internet explorer!

You will get a security warning page...continue and if requested add an exception.

Once you are on the immigration page, go to the 90 day online option.

Then click on top box for renew 90 day.

Then here is the important part! This page has inner scroll and outer scroll option....you must scroll down to the bottom of inner part and click you agree to terms....then scroll down outer part of page and hit option at bottom of page.

Then you will be sent to page to input your information...your adress must be exactly correct, not what you think, but what the input adress options are.

Finally submit and in a few hours - to a few days and there you are and you can print it out.

Note if you have not completed correctly it will always say "tough luck" go to immigration office!

Finally you can always go to the site and check progress of application to renew 90 Day!

The Air asia shuttle bus can be be booked when booking flight online, you must input departure as Pattaya Downtown.

Then the price is in the ticketing at 220 baht each way.

The bus leaves at 4.30am!! Arriving at Utapao at 5.30am.

The bus only departs at Downtown Pattaya providing an online bus booking has been made, and the bus timings are linked to the flights.

  10. I am very sorry to hear about this tragedy, however Chinese tourists are the dumbest tourists I have ever seen.

They think nothing about walking across a road with buses and cars etc flying towards them, they do not give the vehicles hardly any time to brake and then cross the roads with there eyes shut, talk about stupid!
