Harsh posts here. I do not think anybody would view a mature
man with a child in a public area as anything to do with pedophilia.
Maybe I am wrong but I would never think anything sick like that.
The thing that will get a look is western men in their 50's and 60's
dating women in their 20's. It is a little strange guys come on but
I think most people will not think about it too much as we mostly
concern ourselves with what we are doing not others.

I do believe the offense was theft, a criminal offense in every country in the World
I believe. Also to take items directly from a person is very aggressive, now these
are the kind of people I would like to see recieve harsh sentences.

How long have they been held in jail allready? I think you will find

^ Well I can tell from a lot of people's attitudes that you are not around
my age. I mean what these goons did was stupid but in the context of things
minor. They acted like thugs, thats it, I have seen worse when two football
clubs play each other in London. Now as they are foriegn it would nice for
Thailand not to act like a nation of monkeys and realise that these two are
idiots, probably mentally impaired and far from there homeland, deport them
and make sure they can not enter the country again.
Instead two people (idiots) are making big news while there are some of
the biggest scumbags in the World walking aroung Thailand, Thai and Farang.

I think most of you guys posting on this thread are over 60 so I understand
why so many posters seem to have lost focus and seem to be a senile
state of mind.
Oh well we won't have to put up with you old miserable gits for too much longer.
Lets just hope the next group of expats are more level headed, decent people who
have not moved to Thailand in a last desperate escape from a jilted dissapointing
past full of hate and bitter thoughts.
You never know the locals might even start to like us then.

According to my wife; Thai TV news said the girls mother took her (the girl) to the farang's room. It's a money thing apparently.
Again, this is according to the news on channel 3.
It's a sad sign of the times in Chiangmai that mothers are touting their young children round town of a night time, especially round the moat near Thapae Gate. A very sad indictmemt of our times.
This has nothing to do with the times and more to do with the average Thai person's
morals. There are poorer places in the world but most people would rather starve
than let some sick git do this to their kids. Thailand really needs to sort this issue
out above all others as the place is getting a real bad name from these disgusting
trades.

My girl always seemed to be able to buy tampons in Thailand from
any supermarket.
As for missing tampons from your own country. Call me old fasioned
but I do not think there is a lot of science or room for complication
when it comes to tampons. As simple as a product can be, cotton
on a string.

Apart from buying video games or trainers I try to avoid shopping
and pay little attention. Do not know where she got them.... but she
had them... nuff said about this me thinks.

While I was in Thailand I did not miss any products in itself.
I missed services and shops such as libaries, video game shops
and I missed a park to stroll around in and play a game of footie.
but was that for a holiday or living there ?
even i forget about things until someone says what about such and such,most thinngs you can find here but things like a tin of corned beef is so expensive and i love corned beef hash,its a uk thing.
i miss loads of things out here but most i can either find at a high price or make myself.
i miss stupid things like the packets of pasta you can just stick in the microwave for 6 minutes,real mint sauce to go with the lamb i buy,real horseraddish sauce to go with beef.i could go on but we all have our favorites we miss and i go back to my country and buy loads of things and forget others.
Well I do not know whether to call 2 - 3 month periods a holiday!!!!!!!!!!!

I just do not get that excited by foods. Anyway Thai food and snacks
beat western foods every time....................... except for chocolates and
sweets I would have to say.

They deserve as harsh a sentence as the courts can give them. I have no sympathy for them whatsoever...

Since when have you had to fool or push women from Pattaya
to work as prostitutes. Think about it why would she pick women
who object to prostitution in a place like Pattaya where there are
thousands of hookers.

I visited Thailand for long holidays between the age of 20 - 24. I am a bit older now and hardly visit the place
but still take a interest. I was treated Ok and did get quite a lot of attention so I know what you are talking about.
There are some bitter people posting on Thai Visa who live in Thailand. Thing is I can understand them aswell
as a farang you will never really be accepted even if you are doing more good for their country than they are.
I do believe that everybody should speak the language of the country they are living in. I met some western
people who had lived in Thailand for 7 - 8 years and could only speak about as much Thai as I could ( very basic
Thai). I think if you speak the language you will get a little more respect and can also correct snidey remarks.

Yes I do believe in Pattaya there is common sights and viewings of
middle aged chunky european men flying from balconies. This shows
quite a enthusiastic interest in aviation simulation.
