There is no such thing as a retirement visa. You have probably got a Non-O or a Non-OA visa which is valid for three months. Provided you can meet all the requirements you can then get an extension for one year based on retirement.

You forgot to mention the false, over-inflated numbers reported by TAT. Everyone who enters and is not a Thai is counted as a tourist. Foreign workers, people visiting family and transit passengers just for starters.
