If the next election goes against the military and they can't rig it otherwise there will be another coup.

No. I just asked, in English they are called Glittering Gold. I can't even pronounce the Thai name. The flowers and the leaves are different. They trees are all over the place. Usually the are a mass of colour when the sun shines for days on end. They give flowers all year round. The Moo Baan replaced the submersible as it shifted little water. In place there is a similar pump to the other three. The Thai news just announced that the water from the north will arrive in BKK on the 16 Oct. Crossy there are lots of flood protection videos on YT. Some are modular and be stored away. NOAQ Boxwall looks interesting. There's a Chinese version also. Glittering Gold flower NOAQ Boxwall

Just a different snout in the trough. -
Stupid comment. Have a thought for those affected. Working on your post count again?

I used to ring 1681 as they have an English option. That hasn't worked for ages. Any other numbers? Grab is a ripoff. Often no one available and if you do get a booking the price is double of a normal taxi.

It is TikTok. Try turning the volume to zilch. I have it so until I want to watch something I want to listen to.

Try the Bangkok Drug Store. I know they have genuine Sidegra. They don't have Cialis. Order online, next day delivery via Kerry. https://bangkokdrugstore.com

Heavy rain here this morning about 0400 to 0500. The sois are flooded again. The pumps are working on it. The main problem is that after the 2011 flood the road outside the village was raised about 1.5 metres. That makes the village the lowest point in the area. The tree in the middle of the pic is dying. We have two of them. When I went for a walk yesterday afternoon all the same trees are dying. They don't like wet feet. I don't know what they are called. They give masses of bright yellow flowers when in blown.

I just asked and she told me it was a message a few days ago in the Line app. I don't use Line, maybe you do. Sorry not much help I know.

Remembering that the 2011 floods started in late October I looked up the tidal forecast for the end of this month. It's not pretty. There is a 50 cm rise between today's high (3.41 m) and the Sat 29 Oct (3.90 m). In fact the 27 to 30 Oct are bad. 31 Oct the tide starts to drop. Time to start preparations. Maybe the Central Food Hall (downstairs) at Chit Lom might be worth a visit.

That correlates with information told to me a few days ago that authorities are going to divert water to the east. These torrential afternoon storms aren't helping the situation here at all. The ground water is just (10/15 cm) below the storm water drains at the edge of each soi here in the village. With the volume of water dropping out of the sky the soi is soon covered. Friday's downpour wasn't evacuated until some time last night. Thankfully no rain yesterday. I'm concerned that when the water from the north arrives the newly installed pumps (4) will not be able to handle it. Pic one shows one of the above ground motors, there are three like this. Second pic shows the pump on LHS and a submersible on RHS. Third pic shows a view of the end of our soi, clear now, 1620 hrs. (we are last house on right). The canal is just beyond the end of the soi.

A Thai doctor must confirm death before a death certificate is issued. I have seen it twice in our village when elderly people died.

Thanks Crossy. I will look into it. -
I did a similar thing in 2011. The difference was to tape with duct tape a thick piece of plastic over the doors (gaps filled with silicone) before adding the sandbags. Some water seeped into the house, it was diverted to the lowest point and there was a submersible to evict the water. We had only a tiny bit of water enter the house for the six week duration of the flood. Others had at least 600 ml of water in the house. Late yesterday afternoon we had a large storm and it filled up the road again. The pumps couldn't handle it. This morning there is still water in front of the house but it is receding.

The bucket idea won't work due to the position of the gate contraption. You can how how the land is falling. -
November 16-18 special holidays for Bangkok, Samut Prakan and Nonthaburi

Yes they get paid. What confuses me is that on holidays and Sundays the traffic is usually worse. I try never to go out on a Sunday or a public holiday. -
The pumps installed by the Moo Baan have definitely made a difference. Yesterday the water never reached previous heights. IIRC 2011 flood didn't start until late October (24?) so we have to wait for the water from the north to hit us. I went out early this morning and when I came back about 0900 there was a lot of activity at the small canal 500 metres from the main gate. They were installing two pumps as the area between the bridge (small canal under) and the main gate was always under water. I was told yesterday afternoon the government had decided to direct the water east around BKK. We are in the NW so I don't know if that is going to help us. Crossy you are definitely in the path before the water is diverted. Sorry about that. Photo down the road at midday about five hours after low tide.

I had a new water pump installed about two years ago. I asked the installer (Homepro) to locate the power box much higher than where the original was. Now it is well above the 2011 level. I think I'll just remove or silicone up the outside power point. Maybe I can move it up the wall about 60 cm. The gate contraption I can't do much about except smother the contacts with dielectric grease.
