  1. It ain't gonna change. Part of the Thai buddhist culture. We all know when these days are, they are well advertised. Plan ahead. Now the ban between 1400 and 1700 is another thing. Pure stupidity.
  2. Cheating is prevalent all over the world. Every country. Here are indian parents trying to help their kids.
  3. Depends on the distance and how many people travelling together. We (two of us, going to town) have found it cheaper and more convenient to take a regular taxi as we have to pay a taxi to get to Bang Wa, about 100/110 baht then BTS fee x 2. Each person will. be different.
  4. If this is true then the girls didn't need 'rescuing'. They have already had a taste of easy money. Probably they will just relocate, maybe as freelancers walking in Soi Nana.
  5. Only 27? You are not looking hard enough. I would think the number of corrupt IO's run into the hundreds.
  6. Thanks. Definitely worth a visit.
  7. There already is. TPBI produces a biodegradeable bag. It is white and purple strips. We have them here and they degrade if let outside in weeks.
  8. When I came first to Thailand 15 or 16 years ago fake 1000 baht bank notes were everywhere. So much so that every bar in Karon had UV readers to check for fake notes. Nothing new then.
  9. and weapons systems. These are what the Chinese really want to get their hands on.
  10. Chuwit promised to donate his 5% to hospitals. I wonder if we will hear more when this actually happens?
  11. How is this done? I've never heard of it before (okay I've led a sheltered life). Anyone can point to a description of the procedure? The thought of infection would scare the bejesus out of me.
  12. How could he blame himself when he was asleep (lap nai)?
  13. The prices have certainly gone up considerably. Still the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the store makes it still worth it. I usually buy my cold cuts at Foodland (Charon Santiwong) early in the morning after I go to Makro which is opposite. Cheap breakfast at that time and not too much traffic. The last time I went I went to Foodland first then Makro as crossing the road to do a U-turn is a pain. This particular Foodland is open 24 hours so it is possible to go there first and still be at Makro at 0600.
  14. It is alright this time of year, winter, no need for air-con during the day. Our last bill was 1202 baht. I hate to think what our bill will be like in summer when we run air-con during the day. Have to run air-con for some of the night just to cool the room down. 28C is comfortable. Still electricity rates here are far cheaper than in Australia. I am thankful for this.
  15. From a recent post about a person who tried to steal ganga from his neighbour and subsequently died and the BIB would not lay charges it would seem she is within her rights to protect her property. Good for her for going public with a warning to would be thieves. If you come here with robbery on your mind you will get a blast of this shotgun up your @rse or worse.
  16. Kill it now before it does any more damage.
  17. They are probably paying the BIB to look the other way.
  18. Considering True sued and won against a rival showing games this could get interesting. It all depends on the deal struck with NBTC and whether or not there was an exclusivity clause in the agreement.
  19. If you cannot get a skinful and/or score some pussy by midnight let alone 0200 you are a sad person.
  20. Prayuth could not tell the truth if his life depended on it.
  21. IO to criminal at entry point `are you a criminal?` Criminal to IO `of course not` Okay just asking. Chop, enjoy your stay in LOS.
  22. No. He has done his sums. He needs two more years to graft the necessary funds for a comfortable retirement.
  23. This is unworkable as a lot of the workforce is self-employed. Who is going to pay them 16k a month for a five day week? This is Thailand not some western country.
