  1. I had my Redmi note10 pro 8/128gb for 3 days and here are my initial thoughts:

I decided to get the Note10 over the Poco X3 because of the higher spec cameras and Amoled screen, X3 is a bit faster when gaming I believe but I don't play games.

Lots of apps pre-installed when powering the phone up the first time; Amazon, Netflix and games, straight in the bin with them.

System update started right away also when starting it up, Xiaomi comes with updates quite often which is very good.

Macro camera is surprising good, 108mb main camera also very good but the main camera will always be at default 12mp so you have to push the 108 indicator on top of the screen to go into 108mb. Night photos hit and miss, neighbors house's roof turned blue on the photo, it's green in the real world. Haven't tried selfie camera yet.

I will have to test the cameras much more before final verdict.

Screen; excellent, a real pleasure to look at, I normally run it in 60HZ refresh rate to save battery.

The phone is very responsive, no lagging but with 8gb of ram that was expected. Same "skin" as my old F1 which is good.

Fingerprint scanner located on power bottom, okayish, had allocated 3 of my finger tips so far, can add more if needed, not sure how many can be added in total? I like the fingerprint scanner better on the F1, dedicated unit on the back under the cameras.

Note10 lighter than my old F1 but much taller due to bigger screen size.

Included battery charger is charging the phone real fast, best I ever seen.

No 5G mobile network on it but that's not important to me and I knew that was the trade off at this price.

Exceptional good value at just over 8000 baht, I can highly recommend this phone if you don't need 5G.

Really difficult to understand what you are writing. Is that a pic of what is actually showing on your phone or just something similar that you found on the Internet?

Did you try entering your Google account password?

That picture is taken from the i-net but my phone is showing the same expect it's locked out.

Yes I tried several times logging on but no.

I given up now and will take it to a phone shop when they open again.

Just one thing about unlocking: Many of the mobile phone shops in MBK have advertisements with their numbers. I wouldn't be surprised if you can ask one of these guys to meet you and unlock your device.

    Well I am in Pattaya.

I will just wait a bit until everything opens again and I will visit Tukcom shopping center and ask around.

In the meantime, I am waiting eagerly on my Redme note 10 pro

So have you tried the factory rest from recovery mode or not ?

or are you saying you cant even get into recovery mode ?

I wiped it yesterday after it froze up.

I can get it into fastboot with the power + volume bottoms.

The the phone starts after holding down the power bottom, I can turn on wi-fi.

My screen about as per image, expect it says; this device is locked, not lost.

  5. Sorry a bit off topic.

My Poco F1 crashed after almost 3 years trouble-free use.

I had to wipe it and now the phone is locked.

I can't get it un-locked again and all small phone shops are currently closed so no help to get there.

I tried un-lock by using this Mi link:

    https://i.mi.com/find/device/activationlock#/

    No cigar.

I just ordered the Redmi note 10 pro (8gb/128rom) for just over 8k baht.

I am not giving up on my old F1, I really loved that phone and I want to pass it on to my son.

This is becoming ridiculous, comparing Forza with R1 or 650 or 900 bikes, and who doesn't know about motorbikes...!!!???

How about that CB500 or Ninja 300 or 400 you talk about against against a Tmax..., isn't that a better comparison, you're not laughing now, are you.....!

Forza maybe against a CB300F, maybe a better and closer race...

But let's debate this logically and sensibly, not my d*ck bigger than yours argument  that goes on and on..!

Similar spec manual geared bike against a finely tuned CVT requires a rider who can change clutch in no time and keep the bike exactly 100% of the time at optimum gear selection...., because that's a finelly tuned CVT for performance does.... - Forza is tuned for economy and smooth operation , no where near performance....

And I'm not talking about just a drag race, be able to choose the perfect gear for best torque and HP all the time ,up and down the hills , and all around the corners and nasty little surprises on public roads..., dogs jump in, I brake and back on gas at perfect RPM, where are you in 5 or 6th gear , trying to find 2 ...! lol

Now a rider like that is probably a top class racing expert on top of his game, not the scooter bashing , big bike wannabees on this forum...! 5555, even those guys have no clutch now paddle shifting gears....

Sometime I think these guys are just jealous, jump on the "scooter" with shorts and slippers and go fast and enjoy the riding experience...., after all who wants to put on boots and leather pants in this weather and lube chains before even get on the bike....5555

I recommend come down your high horses and give it a try, not for a day or two, but rent for a few months, you will see how enjoyable and addictive maxi scooters are.... + 1

    Jealous? No not at all.

High horse my ass, we just state facts, been riding bikes for many many years.

I get a maxi scooter when I can't ride real bikes anymore.

I know a few that's been doing that because of age.

Honda make a lot of bikes with DCT-  from NC750, Rebel 1100 and Africa Twin, the now ex 1200 Crosstouer also came with DTC, so automatic gear-shifting (different ride mode to choose from)+ push bottoms on the handlebar for manual shifting.

I spoken to owners off all 4 types of bikes and they all loves the DCT but it takes a while to get used to.

I need to try it out.

I jump on my scooter with minimal safety gear but always gear fully up on the big bike.

The guys I know that tour a lot on Forza 300/350 also gear fully up when touring.

  7. I uses a older pcx150 for city riding, it's perfect for that.

It's not powerful enough for the highways, I hate being overtaken by big lorries.

I have a Yamaha 900 for outside Pattaya, very fun bike to ride.

Meet an expat on an Xmax300, we talked a bit at the red lights.

He took off like a scolded cat when green lights, took me by surprise, he kept going up to app 140 km/h in shorts and flip-flops, only safety gear was a full face helmet????

At the next lights I was prepared and again he got ahead for about 10 meters but 115hp on my bike quickly outmatched his tiny engine and I left him in the dust. It's about handling the clutch and throttle when taking off, I have to be careful or the front wheel will loose contact to the ground, which it did in this case in 1 & 2 gear.

After I had shown him who's the boss I let him pass me as I didn't want to go so fast on that particular road, we exchanged thumps up.

    Childish behavior? Absolutely 555

I normally rides at 120-140 km/h, my bike is naked so much more than that, the wind pressure is too much for longer time.

I sometimes makes short sprints to over 200 on empty roads and no side sois in sight but it's max for 5 min.

  8. I had very bad experiences with office chairs, likely because I am +90kg.

I always keep them in highest elevation and after 2-6 month use they can't stay there anymore but slowly default down until in lowest position, very annoying.

My current OC does the same, so every time I stand up I raise the chair again.

I don't want to buy one without testing it first.

My current OC is even rated to 120 kg, cheap <deleted>, I guess you have to spend +10k to get something 1/2 descent?

I've ordered a pack of N95 face masks from Lazada which should cut the risk compared with the usual blue three-layer version I wear. I've been told to go to the Vaccine Service Centre of the 8th Floor of Building B, which sounds like it will be easy to find. Is it farang-friendly, as in English signs and English speakers if you have questions?

    Which vaccine are you getting?

I just sent a message to Phyathai, thanks for the tip.

  10. It looks to me that you really don't know what you want, LOL.

Well sometimes it good to get inputs from others.

2 up and daily rides to/from work but you don't want anything super powerful.

Honda X500 comes to mind, Royal Endfield 650 if you want a good looking retro bike, they both sell in large numbers.

I tested a RE650, nice bike, the torque is really nice for a non fast rider but is still pretty nippy up to about 140.

  11. My son goes to Phoenix, 11 years old, on-line schooling every weekday.

He is sitting in the living room on his own PC and I can hear what's going on and I get the feeling that the teachers try their best motivation the children.

The teachers still need their salaries, only thing that saves money when doing on-line teaching is on the food for the kids, and I recall we already got a bit money back earlier this year. I don't know what happens to the sports teachers, I hope they are getting paid as well?

It's not good for the kids, they are isolated.

The Thai teachers are getting vaccinated but haven't heard about the expat teachers getting vaccinated yet? This is not acceptable, my son attends the international program so the head teacher in the class is a native English speaker and a Thai is the assistant teacher so all teachers no matter nationality should have equal priority to vaccines.

All in all a <deleted>ty situation for everybody involved.

  12. I don't think I will do this booking and pay 4k for such an unknown.

4k is not the end of the world to me but out of principle, if they don't want to refund the 4k is not acceptable & sounds pretty lousy to me as they can likely sell the vaccine on to somebody else. They should say: Okay we give you 3k back and keep 25% for our inconvenience caused will be okay to me.

I am sure BKK/Patt hospital have better connections and will likely provide a vaccine faster but only guessing.
