Yes, somebody else pointed that out. They obviously took down the original link. I visited 4 hospitals here in Pattaya this morning. Got on the list in just one. Had to insist at the door. They always assume you've come for a jab right away. A lot of calm talking required. Banglamung, Bangkok and International unable to help. But YMMV.

So which one did you get on the list on?

    That's correct.

    Thank you.

Neither BPH or PIH are taking bookings.

Do you think government hospitals in Pattaya would manually sign up expats with only passports? Or wait? Any particular hospital?

Also what's your opinion about people over 60 with some other conditions taking Sinovac? I'm hearing sometimes that would be inappropriate.

I am also in Pattaya and have been looking for a vaccine.

Now I am on the waiting list at Samitivej hospital, the nearest from Pattaya is in Chonburi I believe but I go to BKK if needed.

I have the pink ID card so I might try register at some stage.

    Dear Sir / Madam,

    Greetings from Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital.

Thank you for the information. We already added your name in our Covid vaccine waitlist. Our OPD nurse team will contact and update you accordingly once they have new information on the vaccine.

Note: We are aiming to have the vaccines available for private purchases through our hospitals after the 2nd quarter of 2021, given the recent situation of procurement worldwide. Please be informed that despite the wait-listing registration we now offer, we are yet to have full information on exactly which vaccine(s) will be available to us, how many doses we will be able to procure, or what the price of each dose will be at this point in time. When the information becomes clearer, we will be sure to keep you updated with the details.

    Best regards,

I suspect the issue is with your PC rather than NordVPN. NordVPN runs like clockwork on my PC, phone, laptop, tablet & android TV box.

I think you are right, it's only on my PC its giving problems.

  4. I had nothing but problems with NordVPN for the last 8 month.

Every morning when starting my PC I have to start task manager and close Nordvpn and then I can start Nordvpn and get it working.

I have removed the program and re-installed, been in contact with Nordvpn several times but nothing helps.

I am using Win10 and my Nordvpn is also the 3 years deal.

    No more Nordvpn for me.

  5. Getting near death experiences in traffic!! WOW man that must be hard on you.

I hardly get one a year using: truck, scooter & big bike.

Some are not coping well driving/riding in LOS. Spoke to a US guy at a car repair shop and he told me that he hated driving his car here. The trick is to blend in.

Love riding here but you have to be aware of what's going on 360 deg around you at all times.

Getting a big truck horn will not do you any good but a slightly louder one is okay if used sparingly.

You need a bit of balance here in your argument.  I very much doubt that we have any Billionaires on TVF and definitely not posting on here.  Millionaires and the like have a different set of values and needs to 'ordinary folk',  as well as no need to consider alternative uses for their money, as you well know, so its a facetious point to try to bring them into this conversation. They also dont live in Thailand as retired  or working farangs. They tend to have more sense than that and live in places where they don't stick out like a sore thumb.  Like I said before, a low profile works well here, a high profile is dangerously naïve.  Farang in a high end Merc in Monaco, a big tick; a farang in the same car in Thailand, a bigger cross.

    Really?

I see a lot of expats here in Pattaya in expensive cars (+3 mill): Benz, BMW and so on.

The super rich expats? yes likely not so many of those but I think a few spend the winter month here and then go back to the Mediterranean for spring.

  7. BBJ what is your take on the Tenere 700? I am considering buying one as a travel adventure bike, 99% tarmac perhaps more off-road later.

30k km rebuild is a show stopper for me but okay not really an off-roader anymore so not a bike for me.

A friend of mine will have his KLX250 upgraded to 300 or 350cc, there is a shop in CM specializing in this.

Once again guys, thanks. I didn't know I had another gas station close to the one that was out of fuel Monday. Just been living here just over a week and went to the closest one.

Also, ty for the explanations about what gas I can use and not. I suspected it wouldn't matter, I just didn't wanna decide on my own to use another type when I got instructed otherwise by the rental guy. It's his bike, not mine.

You are too concerned about nothing, just fill 91 E20 and tell him you filled 95 if he ask.

If he is giving any problems just go to another rent outlet, they are very eager for customers and I am sure you can get a very good deal.

My 7 years old pxc has been running 91 e20 for almost 30k km and the engine is still in very good shape.

  9. I don't think they are getting uglier, the choice is huge, well okay we can't get all of them here in LOS but still not bad.

Almost all of the bigger brands offer some kind of retro looking model(s) and they also make bikes looking as some kind of space insect too, so something for every taste.

Hmm Royal Endfield one of the biggest brands only makes retro looking models I think & Triumph have huge success with their Twin engine model range so many prefer a retro bike but not all.

I would never buy a vintage bike, times have moved on and I like ABS, traction control & different ride modes by the flick of a switch.

Only 2 bars near me closed due to Covid. They have both reopened in the last couple of weeks. None of my favourite bars closed except during lockdown. The demise of Pattaya bars is greatly exaggerated (load of rollocks actually).

So you are obviously don't go much out expect your favorite bars?

Min 50% are closed I think but haven't been around and counting.

  11. My cord type lawn mower from 2009 is getting long in the tooth.

I was wondering if anybody here have any experience with the cord-less type?

My old mower have been really good and never required any maintenance but the cord is a nuisance, one time my son almost got electrocuted because he was about to run over the cord but I saw it and intervened.

So for ease of use/safety I would prefer a cord-less mower but wondering if the batteries can last much more the 2-3 years?

Hope somebody care to share their experience on the subject, thanks.

    One here below at 300$
