Might be a good time for the WHO to send Thailands Minister for Health a personal directive telling him to get his head ######## on top of this and follow the correct guidelines
Farangs who refused masks were 100% correct to do so, being used in the wrong situation could make things worse

I simply dont believe it..
yes it talks about Wuhan as if Thailand is magically unaffected
wake up call
Thailand now has 25 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, and its capital Bangkok is now considered the most at-risk city in the world outside of China for spread of the infection.

Really? Handed out a bunch of masks that are pitifully inadequate, slagged off those who knew that and refused them, all the while trying to allow more virus carriers to come visit and spread the plague. If this is his best, you would hate to see what happens when they do poorly.
absolutely 100% spot on
They think it is bad now
If they don't start taking this situation seriously it may take a very long time to recover and restore confidence
News coming from China is very grave indeed - they ignored and silenced the Doctor (who has since died of the virus) who gave them an very early heads up in December and a chance to halt this in its tracks, by covering it up and lying to the public we now see the results
First thing Thailand needs to do is be honest with the public - the only way to stop this is with public cooperation - it is not about face masks - it is about shutting down affected areas and containing the outbreak if necessary - China has isolated huge parts of the country and shut down public transport and told people to stay indoors - Hongkong has closed its borders

If you follow the links to the Thailand tourist support information website it is all about China and is extremely old out of date information and not particular to Thailand as such
It addresses only people travelling to or from Wuhan China

what I think happened as someone already suggested earlier in this thread
He was handing out masks and rightly a few farang refused them, I would have refused them also - we don't know where he has been or what he has touched and I certainly would not be shaking his hand either - that is how you spread a virus - touching things that could be contaminated

I'm going to explain this double talk in plain English
Buy foreign currency quick because the Thai baht is about to go through the floor
and I'm not joking - this is what he is saying

Only if one remembers to update the book quite regularly. If you leaves it too long, a consolidated one line entry replaces perhaps a few pages. There is also the possibility the update machine screws up, as it did for me, and for darned FD book too. Only 2 entries each year and the crazy thing printed the latter right over the previous!
Oh ?
doesn't affect me I guess as I use my Thai bank account every month in branch (no atm card as I prefer not to have one)

he didn't convert anything, he binned his O-A (obtained in home country and requires insurance but no funds in Thailand) for an entirely new Type O which does require funds in Thailand.
There is a grey area obtaining a 12 month extension in Thailand based on an O-A - most here agree that it should not require insurance as "it does" require funds in a Thai bank account

I think you are right , the negotiation period was the 3 days at the police station . After the courtdate is set your in the system no more negotiation .
he can negotiate - the cops will take his money under the table and nothing will change - he will still go to court...…………….not much he can do about it is there
go to court like most on here have advised - pay your fine and off you go
Strangely the worst that is going to happen is after the court case - the police will likely arrest you for overstay and try to gouge you for money, so when you know your court date make sure you have already bought a date flexible ticket out of the country so that when they march you to the airport you will already have an air ticket and there will be no waiting around in an IDC cell
ooops didn't read the whole thread so ignore my post lol

any activity on your bank account will be shown on your updated bankbook on the date of that activity with an entry - debit or deposit, this will clearly show in your book if you have complied with the 800/400 deposit requirement - am I missing something

And then people should be made aware of the movements of the people she came into contact with. After that's established, then all the people that those people had contact with need to be traced too.
Of course, if any one of these people coughed or sneezed, then that location should be GPS flagged on google maps and anyone who passed within 5 m of that location in the ensuing 2 weeks need to self quarantine before calling the medical emergency hotline.
You see where I'm going with this?
I'm mostly talking about hotels - room numbers and stuff like that so that the hotel staff can at least be aware they may be in danger, can you imagine the room cleaning staff and their exposure plus their family exposure etc
